Please stop mentioning the Patriots played week 17 without a couple of O-line starters. They weren't the only team on the field playing reserves. The Giants were without Shockey and Kiwanuka. Two guys that are playmakers and can make a difference. They were also banged up in the secondary. I won't start the argument of who has a greter impact to their team, the missing Patriots or the missing Giants. I'd just ask that we stop bringing this point up.
Well, the Pats' OL starters missing in week 17 are back, along with blocking TE Kyle Brady. Are Shockey and Kiwanuka coming back for SB42?That's one point when one brings up argument, so no it shouldn't be put to bed. The other point is that these OL guys and K.Brady help in the pass-blocking department...to counteract the Giants' number one defensive strength. So again, no this argument shouldn't be put to bed.
ok, the giants were either missing or were lost during the first Pats game the following players who will be available at the SB:Shaun O'hara

Ahmed Bradshaw

Sam Madison

Kevin Dockery
You are missing a very important one... Kawika Mitchell.I believe that he will make a big difference in the SB.
So true. I just hate the excuse the Pats were missing players so they played poorly against Giants, which was posted to many times in this and every other thread.
The Pats were missing the right side of the O line. I don't think they would have helped much where the Pats were weak in that week 17 game, Pass Defense. The Pats put up 38, so the missing linemen didn't really seem to hurt much. All that said, I can't see Eli having another 4TD,0INT day.

Pats 35-17

Half a league half a league,

Half a league onward,

All in the valley of Death

Rode the six hundred:

'Forward, the Light Brigade!

Charge for the guns' he said:

Into the valley of Death

Rode the six hundred.

'Forward, the Light Brigade!'

Was there a man dismay'd ?

Not tho' the soldier knew

Some one had blunder'd:

Theirs not to make reply,

Theirs not to reason why,

Theirs but to do & die,

Into the valley of Death

Rode the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,

Cannon to left of them,

Cannon in front of them

Volley'd & thunder'd;

Storm'd at with shot and shell,

Boldly they rode and well,

Into the jaws of Death,

Into the mouth of Hell

Rode the six hundred.

Flash'd all their sabres bare,

Flash'd as they turn'd in air

Sabring the gunners there,

Charging an army while

All the world wonder'd:

Plunged in the battery-smoke

Right thro' the line they broke;

Cossack & Russian

Reel'd from the sabre-stroke,

Shatter'd & sunder'd.

Then they rode back, but not

Not the six hundred.

Cannon to right of them,

Cannon to left of them,

Cannon behind them

Volley'd and thunder'd;

Storm'd at with shot and shell,

While horse & hero fell,

They that had fought so well

Came thro' the jaws of Death,

Back from the mouth of Hell,

All that was left of them,

Left of six hundred.

When can their glory fade?

O the wild charge they made!

All the world wonder'd.

Honour the charge they made!

Honour the Light Brigade,

Noble six hundred!

OKAY, new turn for this thread:

What three things must have happened if the Giants win the game?

What three things must have happened if the Pats win the game?

For me:

1) Giants running game averaged @ least 4.4, D logged 3 sacks, D caused 2 turnovers.

2) Brady had 3 passing TDs, D held the Giants to under 100 yards rushing, Brady had no INTs

Good idea Marc1) NYG--TE/RB positions combine for 15 rec/150 yds; at least 3 sacks by DL; keep Brady to less than 60% completion2) NEP--Cover the TE without dedicating Harrison; score early to get in the Giants heads; stuff the run early.

#2, Shockey's on IR, Boss and Matthews ...different story IMOSimplestGiants have to get to Brady and pound Jacobs into those old LBers as much as possible. That's the heart of the Pats D. I don't know if they can be beat down by a bruiser RB but Jacobs and/or Ward have done it to some of the best this year.Pats-stay loose, protect the golden arm. Brady is everything and the Pats match up real real well, with what I think are several advantages. Teams have "pressed" in Supes and just seemed out of sync in previous Supes. Thoughts of 19-0 and two weeks of hearing how they're the greatest could really be toying with their heads. I think some of the Giants success has been due to a lack of respect by the opposition. They're tough, play em' tough, just another game do what you've done to get here.......etc

I knew this pre-game show was going to blow when in the first hour we get more #####ing from the 72 Dolphins and Ryan Secrest. What is Ryan going to offer for this game, fashion tips and "who would you bang" questions concerning Brady and Eli

I really see the Giants only chance for victory is an early injury to Brady.

For Giants 1. 4.4 means nothing. Total yards. Giants need 150 rushing yards. 2. Special teams have to come up huge for Giants.3. Field postion. For NE1. Show up.2. No one get hurt.3. Congrats for going 19-0.

Patriots 59 - Giants 13

This accomplishes 4 things:

1) Pats 19-0

2) Pats break SF's Super Bowl Scoring Record (55)

3) Pats break SF's Super Bowl Margin of Victory Record (45)

and most importantly:

My box with 9 and 3 wins

Not to be me, but 20 rushes for 88 yards is not going to get it done.4.4 does not equal 150 rushing yards. Total rushing yards is the key, not average.

I've got my crow pie in the over right now getting ready to chomp down. An ENORMOUS congratulations to the Giants. I may hate them, but they were phenomenal tonight, I mean to bounce back from that patented Patriots 4th quarter comeback? All I can say is, way to go, I never thought you had a snowball's chance.

Disagree.Giants 37 Patriots 35. Giants are down 35-30 with 4 minutes left and Eli gets the ball at the Giants 14 yard line with 2 timeouts. He leades them down the field and with 45 second left, he hits Amani Toomer on a small slant for the go ahead TD. Tynes nails the extra point. The kick off gives the Pats the ball at their own 35 with about 30 seconds and no time outs and Brady will make those last 30 seconds interesting, but it won't work out. Giants hang on and win. Giants win. Giants win. Giants win. I have a dream.
I was off on the final score, but pretty close on the final four minutes.

Here's what I've heard the last three weeks:1. The Bucs will run on The Giants,Garcia won't make mistakes and The Tampa D will control the game2. The Cowboys have more talent, can run the ball and Romo has too many weapons for The Giants to stop3. The Packers with their receivers will be too much for the depleted Giants secondary and Ryan Grant will run enough to open it up for Favre, plus,COLD,LAMBEAU,HOME FIELD.Sooner or later someone may be right but the fact is there are only TWO teams still standing and three of them are NOT the Bucs,'Boys or Packers. The Giants are playing well, aren't intimidated by New England and will give them and US a great Super Bowl. +15 looks like a gift to me.
Giants are better than the Bucs, Cowboys or Packers. They don't even belong on the same field as the Patriots.

It's tough to show restraint as I'd love to respond to the guys that posted stuff like this, but I'll keep it classy.
