Jeff. So far we haven't seen this.

"It's something that’s only happened one time in 27 seasons," he says. "It was so shocking, I swore I could hear the cameramen gasping at tribal council. … It's one of those seasons where things keep happening, and I think fans are going to be entertained all the way up until the end."
getting voted out with an idol in your pocket? how many times has that happened?
Could this have been when Caleb got everyone to vote out Culpepper. Didn't he just decide at TC that he was going to vote for him and announced it to everyone.

Yeah, that could be it. Seems to be the direction things are going.
According to new spoilers almost 100% sure it's going to happen when it's down to 6.

wow, I dont care if Ciera makes it to the end, she has been one of the worst players I have ever seen on this game. Ditching her old alliance for Tyson's alliance makes 0.0% sense. Lets look at it, if you do get to the 4 with your dream alliance, Tyson easily has you beat, Monica FOR SURE has you beat and Gervais as well. On the other hand, Katie has done nothing, Caleb has done nothing and Hayden has done nothing remarkable really besides hang around.

I just do not understand why she doesnt keep her mouth shut and stick with that alliance, your alliance just voted your mom out last week, its not like they have your best interests at heart. Also besides for that, chumming up to Tyson in front of Hayden and Caleb was dumb, then opting out of challenge was as well. Throwing the hint in the fire was pretty dumb too since Katie had a clue as well and they could vote her out if they wanted to vote out for keeping hints.

Now I am annoyed at two things they failed to show this episode.

1) how about a little conversation with Monica from either pair of the dudes. She was kind of the all important 4th vote, was she so much on Tyson's corner that Hayden had no chance with her?

2) Katie and the two dudes, how about a SEARCH PARTY FOR THAT FREAKING IDOL?! What the hell, in seasons past we had guys finding idols while they were picking fruits, this year these people have actual clues and they are never shown even attempting to look for the idol. After the 3 of them knew that Ciera was not on their side, why didnt they attempt to hunt it down?

I actually think Ciera is playing a pretty smart game. She might not beat Tyson, but if she can convince Gervais and Monica that Tyson is the biggest threat at 4 (and he doesn't win immunity), she has a fairly strong case at the end. Strong in the same sense that some of the other women that played "from the shadows" have had, and some have gone on to win it. She could also be banking on people voting against Tyson and Gervais because they were "in-charge".

I think Monica, on the other hand, has no chance. And everyone knows it. I don't think she is particularly chummy with anyone, her husband played in the NFL (we know that doesn't necessary mean they are rich, but comparatively speaking, it's a big knock against Monica) and he didn't exactly endear himself while he was out there either. I think the lack of airtime for her is because there probably isn't that much footage of her, plus it leaves that little mystery as to how solid is she.

Caleb and Hayden, on the other hand, are very likeable, and very likely to be able to make a solid coherent argument to the jury, and because they've been under the radar, they haven't made a lot of enemies either. Ciera has no shot against either of them, IMO, she'd just be along for the ride.

As for eating, Tyson should have immediately (after the rocks where shown) said, "Wow guys, thought I'd see more of you up here". Or maybe that's too blatant. At tribal was too late, although he had already smoothed things over by that point seeing as they voted for Ciera. And I'm even ok with Ciera eating, after hearing why. She knew she wouldn't win, so why not eat. I also understand why Katie, having been up for elimination a few times, would opt to compete even if she didn't think she'd win.

Tyson played it safe with the idol, he should have held onto it. But that woulda been putting his trust in Ciera, Caleb (who he was voting out) and Hayden (who he was betraying by voting out Caleb). So I can understand the paranoia in his own mind and why he felt he needed to play it. But I think it shows that even though he seems to be playing a strong game, he does a really bad job of reading people.

Now that Aras/Vytas are on the jury (which worked perfect for them to be able to continue to "work on their relationship :X "), I'm rooting for Tyson. I thought Caleb and Hayden were going to take control but they tried to make their move and it backfired. I was thinking they should have waited, but really, once Ciera is gone, next is probably Katie, and as we saw, Monica is strong with Tyson/Gervais. So this was their shot unless they rolled with the 4 man alliance and let the immunity challenge at the end sort things out.

If Tyson had bought the story from Hayden & Caleb that Ciera was playing both sides, I would have loved it. Would have been the best moment on the show in years. Was so hoping he'd go for it. Hayden sold it pretty well but it seemed like Caleb wasn't believable.

That said, Tyson's hunt for the idol was laugh-out-loud funny.

I don't want Caleb to win, because then you'll have Colton'd stupid ### at the reunion show trying to take credit for it, and acting like him quitting was part of his plan to give Caleb a better chance.

I was surprised Tyson played the hidden II, and that might raise some questions from everyone now as to why he told no one about it. Of course, he can lie and say he found it that day.

I think Hayden and Caleb making a move made sense and agree it was dumb of Cierra not to back them. Hayden calling out everyone in next week's preview that they are playing for second place is smart. It would seem like next week is the perfect time to bring back the Redemption Island winner. That might be the only thing that can stop Tyson.

Really was hoping after searching he'd walk up to Phil, Phil would say "that's not an idol" and Tyson would  it off..

Still, he had no choice, last thing you want to do is go to Redemption with the idol in his pocket.

Im sorry to tell you - you are the last team to arrive.

Props to Laura for helping Tina and eliminating Vytas. Laura knows she can beat Tina 9 out of 10 times.

I thought Ciera screwed up last week - but with Tyson having an idol, the plan would have failed anyways.

Katie, Caleb, Hayden should have tried to recruit Monica.

 They may have tried for all we know.. Monica got zero air time..

At the same time.. she was stuck as #4 on either group so might as well stick with what you perceive to be the stronger alliance until it gets to 4.

:lmao: Two spoilers in one preview.. :lmao: wtf this is madness, for a show that makes all its cast and crews sign NDA's this is insane to openly spoil the tribal and who lost the redemption island duel.

Yeah, but Vytas will be bitter enough that if she or Ciera make it to the end, that move cost either of them 2 jury votes.

I must say Probst was right, that is going to be a pretty epic survivor moment.

Agreed that it woulda been a great moment but Hayden needed to sell it better IMO. Needed to go on the offensive immediately "Ciera wants to blindside you. She needs to go tonight. She can't be trusted. She voted her own mother out and she's a sneaky single mother". Shoulda became the alpha male of the tribe in a major way if only for one day.

agree with this. small upside for Laura, but very large downside. so, dumb move on her part.

The other upside is that now Tina will be compelled to help Laura if the situation is reversed at some point.

And what are Aryas/Vytas really going to be more upset about... Gervase/Tyson lying and blindsiding? or Laura not playing nice at one duel?

Is that the same preview they showed several times during football yesterday?

I understand wanting to hype it, but kinda weird that they made zero effort to hide the third member of the jury. Also pretty sure I saw the immunity necklace.

Like some of us who clicked the link earlier in the week said.. It's like CBS doesn't care any more.. 2 or 3 spoilers in one preview is just beyond

What I took from that preview...

The moms defeat Caleb at the duel.

Gervace is wearing the immunity necklace.

Tyson and Katie draw rocks. Unclear on if there is a third participant.

Most likely Monica and Hayden received three votes each and the revote was also a tie.

Third participant would then be Cierra, unless she found and played a hidden idol.
Anything else?

Were I in the shoes of Vytas, I'd be way more pissed about Laura at the duel. At least Tyson and Gervase are playing the game. Laura's move was total bush league bull####. I was pissed off just watching. I'd have flipped my #### if I'd been on the show.

It's easy to argue Laura was "playing the game" as well.

Edit: That said, I didn't particularly care for her move either.

I know that he's getting the winners edit right now, but I just don't think Tyson is gonna take it down.

The reason: I'm pretty sure its impossible for him to interact with another human being without coming off like a giant ****. He's just so damn unlikable. I have a feeling he's going to cross 1 or 2 people down the stretch and then come off like a total doosh at the final TC.

Yeah, I know that's the argument. It pretty much always rubs me the wrong way when people team up in individual challenges.

That terrible, but:

Collins was riding in the front seat and ejected from the vehicle. He died from his injuries at a local hospital.

The driver of the vehicle, who was not named, was also taken to the hospital for minor injuries.
Why in the world do people not wear seat belts? The driver has minor injuries and he dies after being ejected from the car. One click and he is not dead.

Love it when people have the balls to make a move. Ciera thought it through and figured out this was her best shot. Glad she took it.

Jeff. So far we haven't seen this.

And now we know what this meant.

I do as well, but she didn't really do it the smart way. She let Hayden convince her at tribal council and she forgot to realize that her new alliance had a 67% chance of being screwed and once they were, she was toast. I almost thought Tyson was going to be able to play the HII, but he couldn't. I know they show Monica wavering and it is possible they get her, but that was possible even when she is still part of the 4. The only benefit she had was that if she stays part of the 3 and Monica wavers, she can become part of the 3 with Tyson and Gervais. Based on how much those two are ticking people off in the jury, I think she was guaranteed to win.*

*Yes, I know about the person coming back from redemption island, but they come in at 4 left, so whoever the 3 is the week before will most likely stay the 3 again.

I am not certain it was a bad play. I am pretty certain it woke Monica up.

Ciera's play was probably - "I'm number 4, Tyson and Gervase, you vote with me and get rid of Monica - and we'll go together to the final three and I will take my chances then."

Love it when people have the balls to make a move. Ciera thought it through and figured out this was her best shot. Glad she took it.
Meh. If she had thought it through more, she wouldn't have done it. Assuming math.A 33% chance of improving her position wasn't worth the 33% chance of going home tonight. Not to mention the fact that she may have already been in their top three. She's definitely not now.

It was a nice play by Hayden though. Talking other people into drawing rocks so you can stay is genius.

Gervase...all you have to do is say you took the 2 people who were finishing the challenge behind you. Forestalls all the other questions about rank, cause you make the reward all about the challenge performance and paying Monica back rather than about alliances and spots.

And then you make sure Monica knows (ahead of time) that you have to tell Ciera she is in the top 3, so that you can lie about it with a straight face whenever you need to, including at the tribal. And tell Monica to just play off being "4" by saying, hey, I've either been right there or won most of the immunities so far, if that's what it takes, that's what it takes. Little bit of planning by either Tyson or Gervase and Ciera feels really comfortable and doesn't bother to flip.

Oh, and rocks? Sorry, I'm in the "dumb move" camp. Sure, Ciera has only a 33% chance of going home, but also only a 33% chance of it working out well for her (Tyson getting the rock). I think they were more willing to do rocks though because of Redemption Island - doubt it happens if it is out for good.

Great episode. When I saw someone posting that CBS was giving stuff away in the previews, I avoided the thread (and CBS as much as possible). I think Tyson is funny but I agree it's going to be hard for him to win. I couldn't tell if he was talking with Katie as he was hugging her or talking to Hayden, but he pointed to their seat in the jury. Not very endearing.

Yeah Gervase screwed that up. Hayden played that as well as he could have. I think next week we may see the Redemption Island person back in the game (in other words Laura). That will even the teams back up to 3 and 3, presuming Monica doesn't flip. If Tyson gets nervous, he plays the idol and sends one of them packing for good.

Someone earlier said the Redemption person comes back at 4, I hope you are right and it is at 6, I didn't like it last time when it went right to the end. Granted, that person did have to win a bunch of immunities to get their, but still, didn't seem right that they weren't part of the "game" back at camp.

Well crap they are probably right, I was speculating. I'll now guess they vote off Cierra to prevent Laura from reteaming with her in the game (and Hayden hasn't been particularly close in any Immunity challenge).

When they show a clip like the one they did at the for next week, it feels like a red herring.
