It's funny. I don't see a lot of difference in Tyson and Boston Rob's behavior. BTW, I like them both. I always root for someone who has played hard and deserves to win.
Good posting. My wife called him boston rob without the likeability last night
Eh, I think Tyson is far more likable than Boston Rob. I didn't like Tyson before this season, but he has been more likable this time around. Meanwhile, what was likable about Boston Rob's dictatorship he held over his alliance, which was filled with sheep, the last time?
I've never understood what is so great about Boston Rob. The last time he played and won, it was annoying how the tribe members were his puppets, and did whatever he said. It was boring to watch.
People have made a lot of accusations about the show being rigged and set up and such. If there was a case for a set up this would be it. They wanted Rob to win so bad it wasn't even funny.

It sure seemed like it. Hell, Probst practically drools all over himself when he talks about Boston Rob.

It would've been so much better to watch if CBS had not spoiled it though. It was really kind of boring. Even sucked watching redemption. Sort of like watching a recording of a game you already know the outcome of.
Yep. Their commercial ruined it, as the surprise of it all is what makes stuff like that great, but in their desire for ratings, they probably felt the need to throw that spoiler out there to draw more viewers. Lame.

I still don't get why, after the first tie, Ciera didn't just turn around to Gervase and Tyson and say "Look, guys, I'm just really worried about being #4. If you guys really aren't planning to get rid of me at 4, show me now. I'm gonna vote for Monica. You guys should, too. She goes, and it's still us three against Hayden and Katie. But I'll know you guys were honest with me and it'll be smooth now 'til the end."

Right, and Tyson and Gervase are going to trust that. So far, Monica has been 100% reliable and wins challenges. Winning challenges can help keeping an alliance together because they don't have to eat one of their own too soon. If Ciera is telling me she is waffling, no way do I vote with her.

Don't forget that Tyson got knocked off before because he decided to go against a guaranteed vote with Boston Rob. I am pretty sure he isn't going to trust that Ciera wouldn't vote him and then he is gone because it is 3-2-1. Way more chance he gets tricked than he picks the white rock.

Next time during that rocks thing, Tyson should be a little smarter and play the idol. If he plays it before the vote, He and Gervase are safe and by voting Monica, she can't draw rocks and no matter what they can't lose.

I don't think the idol would protect him in a tie situation. The idol only makes the votes against him not count. He didn't have any votes against him, so it still would have been a tie and I think he would still have to draw rocks. Not 100% sure, but I think that's the case.

He would be safe if he played it before the tie. I think once the votes are read the first time, he has no opportunity to play it. That said, like Gervase didn't have to pick a rock, Tyson wouldn't have had to either if he played it before the initial votes.

People are giving her way too much credit. She's got no game and it showed these past 2 episodes.

 at smarmy Tyson getting under people's skin. Dude is a nut.

If you play an idol before the votes are cast you're immune from the entire TC including rocks.
I have never seen a link confirming any of this. I think it may work like phatdawg above. II only works to remove votes and does not prevent you from choosing a rock. Would like to see this confirmed.

Hayden did a great job surviving tribal although he is still a long shot to make it past the next episode or two. Hayden and Tyson are playing the game at a much higher level than anyone else but hard to see how Tyson loses his grip on the game giving his current position and having the idol. He does have to fear a bitter jury but I bet Hayden ends up voting for him.

here's a question... can you steal an idol? if I was there and I knew that Tyson had an idol in his bag, could I steal it when no one was looking? it may be unethical, but so it all of the lying and backstabbing. or is that going too far?

I'm pretty sure it's against the rules.

Never understood why more people don't do what Hayden did during his last day. Lay everything out there for everybody to hear. Don't attack people but whoever you think is gonna win, call them out. Don't make enemies but ask people question after question about where they're at in the pecking order and what their best play is. A lot of players accept their fate when it gets near the end. Glad to see Hayden rock the boat without being a jerk and possibly costing himself votes at final tribal.

They need some new challenges or some variations. Even something as simple as the challenge from last season where they chased the other team in a circle in about 2 feet of water. The one where Phillip's team got smoked.

It looks like Tyson is safe this week no matter what. He has to use the idol because it is not usable after next week.

They need to tone the bitter jury down. It was amusing at first but now it is just sad.

Ya but is there any way to fix that?
I don't know but bitter jury is my 2nd biggest problem. I am sure they actually encourage the jury to ham it up. I mean the stupid reactions when people say things in tribal are if not choregraphed at least considered "good tv" by the producers.

Oh and redemption island is the plague I never want to see that #### again.

Depends on when the survivor from redemption returns. My guess is they go to 4 left this week and then bring redemption survivor back the next meaning he has two weeks.

Only 2 more shows left. Final is Sunday the 15th.
Ok, change that to "he has 2 tc's to use it" instead.. ;)

He played that very well. Smart dude. He snuffed out that Tyson had a beat on his earlier play with Ciera as well, then smoothed it over to an extent that he even got Ciara to vote with him this time.

Hayden needs to keep Ciara on his side and lure Monica and/or Gervaise over by telling them they need to make a big move or Tyson wins. If I was Hayden I'd push Monica and Gervais to join me. Need to take out Ciara before Laura gets back in the game as well as take out the front-runner in Tyson. Remind them Tyson played an idol that they didn't know about.

Hayden seems like a smart dude. It's him or Tyson depending where the chips fall.

Wow, I (almost literally) bumped into Phil Sheppard this past Friday night on Montana Avenue in Santa Monica. Fortunately, he wasn't wearing the pink underwear, at least not visibly.

Gave him a big "Hi, Phil." My wife thought I was nuts. The encounter didn't last long enough for me to get a Stealth R Us nickname.

The problem with the "if you don't do something, Tyson will win" pitch is that if they do go along with it Hayden wins. Doesn't help them any. They're better off doing it without him.

Not sure why people never learn.. Cierra should have choosen Monica if they wanted to buy favors. Hayden wasn't going to switch or get mad if she does that.

No idea if Monica was truly close to flipping or not but still think the best play would have been to bribe her with food.. IMO this is Tyson or If she makes back and wins out Laura's to lose.

Monica wasn't close to flipping, she must have told Tyson and Gervais what Cierra said and their plan to vote out Gervais. Otherwise I think Tyson plays his idol.

They bring back the Redemption winner too late in the game, it will still be 3-2 regardless of who returns. Hayden played a really good game, he was just a week too late with Cierra.

 Not sure on Monica telling them as they certainly were defensive. Agree that they should bring back someone back to make it 6.

I love how for 2 votes Monica and Gervase have had 3 people they want on the jury telling them they won't win against Tyson. Yet they both seem to think they can win. Tyson is safe at 5 with the idol, you figure they vote out Hayden/Laura if that person doesn't win immunity. Basically, he's an immunity win at 4 from a guaranteed win.

if it is Tyson, Gervase & Monica then :goodposting: Tyson wins. But if Laura, Tina, Hayden or Ciera is there with Gervase & Tyson then I think Tyson has no shot. The jury is very jaded and are looking to vote for anyone but those 3.

You know, I honestly think Monica's best chance is with Gervase and Tyson. The frustrating part about her is that she must not be very smart. It was so obvious that Ciera was blowing smoke up her ###, but Tyson is still stupid. He has played a decent enough game, but he still is the guy who flopped a guaranteed winning vote strategy (from Boston Rob) for his alliance seasons ago and got voted out believing a stupid story. Tyson kept asking Gervase if he was worried, but geez, why even let Monica be alone with Ciera? He played with Boston Rob, did he not watch his win? Gervase and Tyson should have just told Monica that Hayden and Ciera were going to lie to her and that she should just hang out with them so she didn't have to deal with it.

That all said, with the crap that Gervase has spewed (being frustrated is no reason to cause yourself jury votes), he has little to no chance regardless. I think the folks that will be on the jury, like the girls, would vote for Monica to spite Tyson. If Monica has an ounce of smarts, she sticks with them. She cannot, I repeat cannot win against someone with tons of ties to the jury.

I think Monica probably made the right choice this week. No real harm, she goes along with her alliance, keeps her word this week, and gets a big threat out of the game. Next week, (i.e. first immunity) she can choose to vote Gervase (if he doesn't win immunity) and go with Ciera and whoever comes back from Redemption (except probably Hayden) and then vote Tyson at 4 if he doesn't win immunity. I think Monica's best shot is probably a Ceira, Monica, Tina/Laura final 3. I don't know if she wins in that case, but it's probably her best shot.

Ceira probably wants to be final 3 with Tina and Monica, as much as she'd like to be at the end with her mom, her mom's dominance at the Redemption challenges makes Ceira unlikely to beat her.

Tyson just stays tight with Gervase/Monica, and I don't really see a way for Gervase to win. I think if Hayden gets back, he is immediately voted out if he doesn't win immunity, cause I think he wins in the final against anyone left.

Monicas only hope is with Tyson and Gervase. She can see the jury doesn't like them. She would be stupid to put them on the jury and then set along side 2 people the jury are rooting for.

Never for a second did I think Monica was gonna flip tonight. They tried their best to edit it to make it look otherwise, but I never bought it. If you are Monica, why go to the final three with two people that are well-liked like Hayden and Ciera are?

Agreed. As unlikely as it is that Monica beats Tyson, no way she gets any votes up against Ciera and Hayden.

Also, Gervase was a nutcase again.

If anybody on Redemption Island makes it to the final tribal, they can go ahead and start shopping.

Tyson could be just a little less dickish and win this.

I agree with the posts above. Monica did the right thing staying with those two rubes. I don't think she could win against Laura or Hayden, maybe even Sierra (if she has Tina and Katie's votes). But I really think she will win if she is up there with Tyson and Gervase. She is likeable (she gave up eating in favor of the entire tribe) and she has won more than her share of immunity challenges. She deserves to win. I think the Aras brothers will vote for Monica just to spite Tyson for turning on them.

Ciera patting herself on the back after winning immunity was :lmao: . She made her move a week too late and it cost her dearly. Apparently she thinks finishing 4th/5th was the goal of the game.

Monica can win this but I don't see how she does considering she has had very little air time up until last night, certainly doesn't seem like she is receiving a winning edit. Giving the fact that there are a lot of returning players this season, I think the bitter jury potential is a bit overblown. I think a lot of them will end up voting for the player that played the game the best and right now that is Tyson. Hayden would definitely beat him if he made it to the final 3 but even if he is back in the game I don't see a path for him to get there unless he wins immunity challenges and I don't believe he has won one all year. You could argue Laura has a shot if she gets back in the game but I don't see if playing out that way, something tells me Tina is the one that gets back in.

How can you possibly think she deserves to win? She's won some challenges that didn't much matter if she won. That's it. That's her entire gameplay this season. She's followed orders and been a useful vote. That is not someone that deserves to win when others did all her heavy lifting.
