So great Yu throwing Monday. We have those tickets. Now to just try to work out getting there. Can I get scene control to go to 3 games in 4 days?

Just got my allocation... I got Monday night tickets! But I also bought 2 tickets to the new batters eye club for Monday night. I guess I will have to sell those now....

Mini FBG cornhole? Shots of sake in honor of Yu?

Speculative add on Harrison, how are camp reports?
He won the number three starter role ahead of Darvish. Struck out 7 in 6 innings yesterday. The velocity is there at 94-95. Good movement on his off-speed stuff. His K/9 is up this spring.Anything bigger than an 8-team league, I would think Harrison should be on a team. You know he is going to get run support, so the wins will be there, and early results this spring are saying the other numbers should be there as well.
Wow, not bad for a post draft waiver pickup in a 12 team 40 player mixed dyno. I'll take it!

I may be there also. Haven't bought tickets yet though. What's the deal with this batters eye club? At first glance it seems they took the "stand around in the outfield" area and turned it into a "stand around in the outfield for $125" area. Also, kinda sad to see the bleachers go.

Batters Eye Club

A big party suite out above greene's hill with a buffett spread prior to the game. I threw my tickets on stubhub. I'd rather watch the game from my usual seats.

I'm up for saying hello to everyone Monday night.

Mike Olt and Jurickson Profar starting in Frisco. That makes any Robbie Ross start a must see out there.

Three guys that with the old Rangers would be starting down the highway.

Ross will be in the dugout Wednesday in Frisco, but in the other dugout. Nice job by him making the big club.

You can't ask for a better first game. Colby is going to always throw a ton of pitches, I just have to get use to that.

Ogando striking out the side on 14 pitches? Yes, thank you. Ogando/Adams/Nathan could make for a lot of 6 inning games.

Mad Kinsler hit ball far.

That was fun! Yu is going to be just fine.

Nice to see Nellie break out long ball.

Looks like Ian is getting a 6-year extension according to the fwst.

Eta: 5/$70 with option for 6th yr with $5mm buyout.

Did you take a sportswalk in the first inning, Bogart?

Guy has some great stuff. Looking forward to watching him as the season progresses.

It is easy to say now, with the win in hand, but that might have been a perfect start for Yu. Struggle early, get back on track, and understand that this offense will back you up. Of course he was hyped up, and I have to think pitching to Ichiro created the perfect storm of Yu falling apart. Yu will build on this, and be much better.
Now for the real adventure.
:goodposting: This is the start that has me maybe more interested than Yu.

Great deal of Ian and for the team. He will slide easily into the FACE/super utility role of the team in a couple of years (when Profar comes up) and I think the team will get value for the contract.

That's what I was thinking too. Might also be good to temper expectations.

I'm predicting a meltdown tonight. Something so cover your eyes epic bad that it makes you doubt your core belief system and love for your fellow man.

Did I see right that coming into tonight current M's were a combined 0-48 against Feliz?
Actually, that was his record against the Mariner's all-time. On the current roster he was like 0- 28 or so. Considering the last time we saw Feliz, he was not finishing off a World Series (sorry) and apparently melting down in the clubhouse, 7 shutout innings while showcasing some above average off speed stuff is well beyond my imagination.

and yes, if the only two games you lost is because your closer could not close...it is time to be concerned...panic is a little early, but it is on its way.

Yes, it is early, but the glass cover is off the panic button and the hand is hovering over it.Adams to the ninth, Ogando to the eighth seems like the move when the time comes. OSB is going to be patient, I am sure.

The bullpen has given up 5 ER. 4 of those were by Nathan.

I think you see a closer by committee approach for a month or so to prevent Nathan on B2B.

Love this team. 2 losses belong to Joe Blow. Hopefully he can pull things together. Looking forward to see how they play in this road trip. I'll be happy if we can go 5-4 and come home sitting at 10-6. Thrilled with anything better than that.

I will say this. the angels bullpen situation is less than good. Will be interesting to compare notes after this next series.

Looks like we will see Lewis v Lester and Holland v Beckett in Bos and then Harrison vs "Cy Young" Scherzer, Darvish v DET #4, Feliz v Porcello and Lewis v Verlander in Detroit.

I really like the demeanor of Holland and Harrison right now. Both are acting like vets and pitching well. Looking forward to seeing them put together 3 straight QS next week.

This team is fun to watch.
So Josh Hamiltion is making his case for 20 million plus a year even with relapses.
Of course Josh is going to have a monster year. Playing for his last big contract, Josh is going to go all out. Not worrying about his future, the Rangers are going to play him in CF everyday. IF he doesn't get hurt, he is going to put up huge numbers, and some team is going to give him silly years and dollars in the off season. I just don't see it being Texas.

I like this Ross kid. Nice having a left handed reliever who isn't 80 years old.
Something about his delivery irritates me his lower body movement is unconventional, and I know they never call this but he shades down the hill off the rubber before the release on like half his pitches. Bullpen is going to flame out if Darvish and Feliz can't keep PC down. They are discussing moving harrison between those two to break up the problem in one way or another.
