Jim Parsons gets another Best Comedy Actor nomination. Time to unseat Alec Baldwin
Hopefully last years nom put the show on the map for people to watch because the show was snubbed for Best Comedy. That said, Sheldon was at his best this past season although watching YouTube highlights of the show, Sheldon has not changed much and I could not pick out when some clips were from. The past three seasons seem to have all melted together in my mind. If Jim Parsons does not get the nod this year, that is a travesty.

He won't win. Book it. The Emmy people always vote for the knowns rather than the unknowns, and unfoirtunatley, BBT isn't a "known" show yet.The bigger travesty is no noms for Sons of Anarchy... :ptts: :blackdot:

Pretty good stuff tonight. Penny looking good.
Since it wasn't posted, Kaley Cuoco broke her leg in a horseriding accident. They wrote her out of the episode they were filming when it happened, then they went on a planned filming break. They've added a couple of weeks to the break, but no word on whether Kaley will be written out of a few episodes when they start back up, or whether they'll include the injury into the show.

One drawback is the lead male character Leonard played by Galecki from the Roseanne show. In real life he is a screaming queen so for me it is always tough to watch him drool over Penny when in reality he isn't that way at all. And I think he coems across too wimpy. I know he's a tech geek on the show but he gives off the queer vibe so it takes away from any realism in their relationship.
I looked him up and I could not find confirmation he is gay. Might be jumping the gun here.
Hell, there's a guy on the avclub.com BBT threads who claims he saw Galecki and Cuoco at a bar, making out.
Saw this story that Cuoco and Galecki broke up after dating for two years and it me made recall this discussion.

Just finished disk 2 of season 1. Laugh out loud funny!

Actually did a near spit take on the labeling of the turkey baster and the measuring cup. "It's on the bottom".

I have a bad feeling we'll look back at last night's episode as the exact point when a good show unexpectedly jumped the shark.

What means this?
I liked the part about making it to the singularity, looking at Penny stretching before the run, and there were a couple funny moments with the robot, but it was otherwise one of the most formulaic episodes so far. Soft kitty. Another nerd guest appearance. Raj getting mad that Howard is stealing his cheesy lines. And they killed the genius of the sheldon character. He's supposed to be subtle not mugging at the camera for cheap gags. His bazinga in the car that almost killed Leonard was ridiculous. Sheldon making bad jokes about going above penny's head, and needing to go see Woz. Sheldon looking right into the camera and looking overly pleased with himself like a cartoon. This is not the unintentionally funny sheldon that makes the show great.

I agree with pretty much all of this. I watched the first episode of the season last night before this one, and the difference was remarkable. Notafan.

hitcom.

I love this show, but didn't realize until today that this is the #1 show in Canada. Not just in it's timeslot but overall, it's #1 most watched show in the country...

Seinfeld had it's share of clunker episodes too, you know. As did MASH, Cheers, any sitcom you can name, even the all powerful 30 Rock....

I'm going to go make love to your daughter's VA J J.

This show misses something without Penny. That said, the scene where the 4 guys sat around the table talking about how they'd betrayed each other was very well done.

"You have moth mouth"

We need to see bloopers from this show. No way Kaley keeps a straight face when Sheldon drinks, spits, drinks, spits, drinks and finally spits the alcohol back. That scene is money.
