***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (3 Viewers)

Solid episode tonight. Kinda curious how they are going to progress from "hey we're in a shelter that zombies can never get into so what's the point of ever leaving?" now.

-Why waste bullets when a pick ax will do the job

-Get out of the bloody clothing

-Don't waste a perfectly good sheet on a dead body

-If you're going to bury them, at least put a coupla logs over them so they don't dig out

There are many more....

Oh, and I do find it fun to watch.

Every week they've had an excuse to go out in harm's way for a seemingly weak reason. I assume that it will be because the other end of his walkie-talkie will reply back.ETA: or we still have the redneck brother running around too.

- if you are bitten by a zombie and are going to decide to stay behind, maybe have the courtesy to do so before everybody packs up to find you some medicine. Did I miss something or was the whole point to go to the CDC to get a cure for Jim?

If I had to make a guess, I would think that the CDC employee's gaffe will lead to them trying to get "fresh" zombie in search for a cure.

Of course they'll go looking for Jm...

Also a good plot point. Didn't all the equipment get destroyed in the purge too? (I guess that could set them on another adventure - looking for a hidden cache of equipment)And SQ brought up another one - somebody will probably go looking for Jim to put him out of his misery. Maybe taking the hint from the wife zombie in Ep. 1 and he'll be lingering around where the camp was or something?

Rick: We need to go the CDC to find a cure.

Shane: No, we need to stay here and hang more tin cans.

;)

Because that worked so well before, right?

I can't stand the writing on this show...

I love how they conveniently got rid of the guy they were taking to the CDC so they open up that story line."Oooh, my bones hurt, let me out here rather than keep going an hour to get to the CDC where I might be cured."

What do you guys think about Shane pointing the gun at Rick while in the woods, after what Rick said about family?
The Rick/Shane showdown is an inevitable storyline since Shane wants "his" family back. Shane is eventually going to tell Rick he slept with his wife and try to kill him, but will get killed by Rick.

WTH Dude. Why are you posting spoilers in this thread?

WTH Dude. Why are you posting spoilers in this thread?WTH cares at this point? The whole CDC/Camp argument was turrible, especially when they ditch the reason they were going to the CDC in the first place. The pace of this show sucks. That said, I'm all in until it gets canceled.

I think the CDC got them talking about that the CDC might have soem semblance of the remainder of civilization, while the camp security had clearly been breached

Yeah, you might be right. I think it was originally brought up to find Jim a cure, then turned into CDC vs. Military Base as to where the best bet for survivors or protection would be. I think the group decided to go there regardless, but still seemed lame that the main reason they went there was dumped on the side of the road. Also, we still have the family that took off on their own that could somehow contact them for help too. There's at least 5-6 reasons they could go dashing out into the zombie hoards again. (and that's not including any characters yet to be introduced.)

WTF are you talking about? You just posted that he was pointing the gun at Rick in the woods. Isn't that a spoiler for somebody who hasn't seen episode 5 yet?He was offering a prediction based on that scene. (unless that happens in the comic)

:confused:1) I've never read the comic.2) From what I've read here Shane never slept with Rick's wife.Don't worry, no spoilers, just pure conjecture.

If there's one thing I've learned from all the post-apocalyptic TV shows and movies I've watched it's NEVER go to a military base.

Seriously. That never works. No matter what you do.

Is there really anyway that an army base could be overtaken by zombies? Considering the fire power available to military bases to include gun turrets, tanks, UAV's, etc. I just dont see it especially when you consider that you can out run a zombie. Only way for this to happen is if animals turned to zombies such as birds, dogs, etc.

It would happen from the inside out. Someone gets bit or infected while on a patrol or something and brings it back inside, and it spreads from there. You can only be so careful, and the soldiers would need to go out to get food and stuff. Granted, not necessarily in the time-frame that has been shown so far, but we don't know exactly how much time passed.

Hell set up on high powered electrical fence and watch most of them fry - might have to shoot a few but a vast majority are BBQ.

I think that is a mistake. The nearly care free nature displayed by the group leading to the all out assault by the zombies could be understood if we knew they were there for months with no appearances.

Doesn't seem like it'd be possible. Doesn't seem possible that zombies could spread across the world either. If there was an outbreak anywhere the area would be quarantined in the blink of an eye. The world today is vastly different than as little as 20 years ago. The military would have zero problem obliterating a mob of zombies. In World War Z it was able to spread because 1-It originated in rural China and nobody knew what was going on, 2-Organs were smuggled to various countries across the globe and nobody knew what was going on, 3-Governments reacted with isolationist attitudes and feuding and nobody knew what was going on. Even so it's pretty hard to believe that zombies biting humans could happen so rapidly as to completely overtake the military and spread beyond the limits of a quarantine.

Unless there were multiple patient zeroes around the globe.

:lmao: I think back to the readiness postures (not only in the US but globally) during SARS and Swine flu outbreaks and it seems that the world would be able to prevent a zombie takeover even with multiple patient zeros

That would make an excellent show. You could get 6, maybe 7 seasons out of that.

Not technically sleeping, but they basically showed him getting ready to eat at the "Y"

Glad we agree.

I watch Sunday Night Football and TiVo TWD so I am always a day behind...

CDC angle is pretty intriguing and definitely a We are not in Kansas anymore moment for readers of the comic. It felt to me like a season finale moment at the end not a end of an episode moment. Very interested to see if this is a short stay or long stay at CDC.

So let me get this clear spoilers include stuff that has been broadcast already?

Nah. I would hope that if someone is behind that they would know enough to avoid this thread.

Spoilers include but are not limited to:-discussing all aspects of zombie lore that may have happened or may not have happened, or that may happen or may not happen in the future.
