***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (6 Viewers)

Just saw 5 minutes from next week's episode.

They patch up the kid, and leave him on a deserted schoolyard and start to walk away. The kid is pleading with them to not leave him, but Rick and Shane and are not listening. He keeps pleading and then shouts out that he's just a kid and went to school with Maggie. As soon as he says this, They stop and realize that if they leave him, he can lead his group to the farm since he knows who's farm it was. Shane goes to shoot him, but Rick tackles Shane.

INTENSE Scene.
Can't wait for next week!!!
How were you able to see it?
5 MInutesDon't know how much longer it will be up. Also, it's in Italian, but it's subbed.

Nice. Shows an extra scene as well, right after the one you mention.

As someone that's read the comic since the first issue, it's been hard -- harder than I thought -- to separate the two. That's on me, as I realize they're separate works and the TV show is reaching a substantially wider audience. That said, this has become one of those shows I watch out of some geeky obligation to the medium, yet cringe each and every week at the execution. I'm glad it's doing well though, it only helps out the comic book industry which is something I care about a lot more than any TV network's successes or failures.
the book is ALWAYS better than the movie ;)
Jaws wasn't. ;)
Neither was Shawshank. :puke:

Regarding Shane in the next few episodes(in spoiler tag for a reason).

I'm pretty sure the actor that plays Shane (Jon Bernthal) is scheduled to be in another tv show as the lead. I believe it starts in the fall. So Shane is pretty much toast sometime in the next few episodes.
That roughly follows the timeline in the comic series. IIRC, the new series is a period piece set in a 1940s LA police squad and Darabont is the director
That is correct
Ummm...not so much. Shane is offed in the comics while they are still at the camp in the woods. I've only read through the first 40 I think, so far, but just double checked - Shane was killed in the 6th comic.

Definitely is interesting though. i was holding on to the idea that Shane would be the Governor because i think it could have set up nicely. Being how there seems to be a lot of support for the character in mainstream, I wonder if the show will have the guts to kill off a loved character. i guess with this though, they don't have much of a choice.

I was stating he is correct about his new show, not the comic timeline

So hey... don't want to spoil myself on this but I Just got done watching season 1 on netflix with the GF and we're hooked.

Are they airing season 2 right now? Or season 3?

I want to start season 2 from the beginning and watch chronologically. Where can I do this?

They split season two in half and are now on the second episode of the second half of season two.

Hell yes. Demonoid or eztv. I'm not sure there's any other way to watch the 2nd season right now.

Damn... so peer to peer download is the only way? Hell, I'd BUY the damn first half of season 2 if I could find somewhere to pay for it...EDIT Well then... $2.99/episode on iTunes/Amazon. Not too bad. Likely just going to do that.

Two weeks too late GB...
The Walking Dead returns with all-new episodes on Sun., Feb. 12 at 9/8c. Which may leave the uninitiated panicking about how they can possibly catch up in time. Worry not! On Sat., Feb. 11 at 8/7c, AMC begins a two-day The Walking Dead marathon on-air covering the full series to date. First comes all six episodes of Season 1 back-to-back on Saturday starting at 8/7c. Then on Sunday, the marathon continues with Season 2 episodes starting at 1:30PM/12:30c, leading right into the Midseason Premiere, "Nebraska" at 9/8c.

Here's my thoughts on the next couple of episodes....

As shown in the previews, Rick and Shane are caught up with a bunch of zombies on their tail. Rick goes dumpster diving and covers himself up with a corpse while Shane runs. Two possibilities the writers could go with here.

1. Shane doesn't escape. And the zombies overtake him.

2. Shane escapes and gets back to the farm. What makes this interesting is if Shane shows back up to camp without Rick. Everyone is going to assume Shane killed Rick like he did Otis. And maybe Laurie or Carl takes Shane out just before Rick makes it back.

What you think?

I don't know. I thought King's Short story was pretty awesome. I think the book and the movie are equally good.

count me as someone who doesn't think Shane makes a good Gov. Shane just knows too much about these people to torture them. He's too invested. And I don't think he has it him to rape and torture Michonne.
Just my :2cents:

Anyone else think Merle is the GOV? Then when he cuts off Rick's hand it's even more fitting.

that would make sense, and i know everybody thought that before. for some reason i thought they said we might see Merle show up this season, but who knows.my question if they go this route though, is what do you think they do with Shane? he is a popular character, do you think they will take the chance killing him off? i think they can when they start introducing more characters, so it could go that route

http://www.free-tv-video-online.me/internet/the_walking_dead/season_2.htmlI watched the current season of How I Met Your Mother here from home and had no issues. I tried to watch one episode from work and spent the next day removing a nasty virus, which may or may not be related. I've triple-checked my home computer, and have found nothing wrong with it, so I'm not sure that was what caused the issue at work. I just thought I'd put that out there as a warning. Granted, I had Avast running at home when viewing, and a non-updated version of Norton at work at the time, but I never got a warning from Avast while at home either.

I always knew I liked you for a reason. Will give this a shot from my logitech Revue GoogleTV box tonight.

:thumbup:Keep track of the person who uploaded as I found some had videos which loaded much more quickly than others who would stall out constantly.I did this just two weeks ago, watching my first "first airing" of a HIMYM episode this past Monday.

Edited post....

I guess Official News posted on AMC web site, the shows web site, Facebook and other sites is now considered a "Spoiler"

Season 3 information

IMO Spoilers is seeing an episode before it airs and posting information or, as it has been used in this thread, anything from the comic books.

/end

and you are :welcome:

Shouldn't all this "governor" talk be in spoilers? Since, you know, those of us not reading the comics don't even know what or who the #### the governor is?

There's a damn comic thread, too. Take this #### to the other thread!
:shrug:There has been talk about the "Governor" since episode one in this thread.. I haven't read one of the comic books, and haven't read any of the Spoilers but, unless you have skipped 70% of the postings in this thread, you have to know there is a "Governor" that plays a roll in the story.

I've probably read 90% of the posts in this thread, and I don't recall any talk of a governor. Thanks to all of you for making this thread unreadable because of these stupid comic books.

:goodposting: Please read the title of this thread before posting the comic talk. Hey, I enjoy reading comic books myself but you won't find me posting in Batman movie threads about how this and that should be done differently.

Really unreadable? This show is based on a comic around for years. Nothing to hide.
Yeah, some of us don't read comics and would like to talk about the tv show exclusively.I bailed on this thread early because of all the comic book talk and spoilers/comparisons/etc. Pretty sure I'll be bailing again.

So talk about it. Knowing that new cast members will be added/old ones lost sometime in the future isn't spoiling in a show based on zombies.

Kind of my point.. This "spoiler" was posted on AMC's site, on the Walking Dead site, and on The Walking dead Facebook page. Unless you plan on ignoring all news about the Walking Dead show from here until Season 3, you are bound to know there is going to be a "Governor"Now, if you don't want to know who the "Governor" is, or what part he plays in the story I can understand that. But claiming news about the Governor coming is a "spoiler" is wrong IMO. I changed my post to have it as a "Spoiler" post and removed my post about another character, so care on.

Knowing that there's a character named the governor shouldn't ruin much for people.

well i never even heard the word governor until the last few days...im not as upset as some people but it does kind of ruin any surprises the show may have in store as far as story lines are concerned...may i suggest changing the thread title to walking dead tv show only..no comic book talk or something like that. Mostly what people talk about on here is what happened on the show that was just aired and and maybe some predictions here and there.
