***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (4 Viewers)

it seemed like Shane was losing his marbles long before being zombiefied. he started doing things to show that he was coming unglued (smacking his head), and I thought they made a real point of loudly playing the sound of him breathing out of his mouth throughout the whole episode. it was almost as if he was turning zombie before he even died...
I think he smacked his head so he could tell everyone that their hostage had hit him before he got away. That being said, I don't necessarily disagree with your theory that he may have started turning before he died. Obviously, there's more to it than just bites & scratches, given that Shane was never bitten and that Darrell made a huge deal of pointing out that the walker they found in the woods had no bites or scratches.
I think the head slapping was to get himself pumped up for what he was going to do.
Can't be. He needed to sell the story initially.

I meant the head slapping in the barn, after he stared at the kid for 30 seconds. not headbutting the tree.

I don't think that shane was turning zombie before he died. There must be something that triggers the zombie in the dead, even if they are never bitten. That was the point of showing two of them turn imo. I think that the virus is dormant, but something about death, whether by bitting or not, triggers it. Only plausible explanation. If shane had it before, then they all have it, which would be stupid.

Actor who plays Shane was on O&A this morning. Good interview if you can find it online.
Robert Kirkman was on Kevin & Bean this morning (LA Morning Radio). I'll post a link when/if it gets posted on their site.
I was only able to hear the beginning of this interview, but it sounds like the final scene with Shane and Rick was pretty intense, with the other cast members watching off-camera.
It sounds like a lot of really good stuff was left on the cutting room floor.

Glen strikes me as the video-game science lab type nerdy guy from when things were normal. Just cause he has had to kill some undead doesn't mean he has game. Go into the chem lab in college, grab the smartest guy there, and ask him how many women he has dated. That's Glen.
Glen has already hit it. She is begging for more. She is basically the hottest woman left on earth, her dad has given his blessing. It doens't take much game to seal that deal. Also, no way Glen is a science Chem lab at University type kid. He is delivering pizzas in the city. He doesn't come off as smart. Glen had no problem being real bold with her the first time they hit it. I see him as family disappointment, pothead, pizza delivery. Good kid just doesn't have what it takes to live up to his family's expectaions.

And still not.

Maybe the virus is present in the body but simply too weak to take over until the system shuts down.
The CDC guy called it the 'resurrection event.' Clearly it won't take over until normal brain function ceases. It's some kind of virus that only works when the brain dies.

I wonder if the person's heart has to be stopped or could a brain dead but alive person person become a zombie?

Lori will go into premature labor. The baby will be 1/2 Black and,1/2 Asian. It will start crawling and clawing out of her stomach once it hears the zombies coming across the field.

The zombies are not coming to eat the farm-dwellers. They are coming to get their Zombie Messiah, fully human and fully zombie, the child born of not a virgin, but a self-righteous manipulative #####. Which is appropriate for a zombie Messiah.

The farm dwellers will be forced to shoot Lori and try to kill the zombie spawn child before the moaning hoard claims their pre-natal Savior. Rick, still convinced everything can be fixed, tries to do CPR on lori's lifeless corpse.

Carl comes in, shoots Rick for being an idiot, and joins the zombie army in worship of his 1/2 brother. Herschel leads a group suicide for his kin, and the remaining survivors are captured and killed, used as food for the sacrificial feast of the zombies.

Only Glen, Maggie, and Andrea escape.

Not too shabby for Glen, being the only man alive with two attractive women who put out.

Thanks for spoiling it. :hot:

The Walking Dead "Special Announcement" This Sunday on The Talking Dead

March 17, 2012

The Walking Dead wraps its second season tomorrow night and odds are favorable it will set some new series and possibly cable ratings records in the process. If you were planning on headed to bed or another activity as soon as the Season 2 finale airs, there's now incentive to stick around another half hour. This morning on Twitter, The Walking Dead showrunner Glen Mazzara (follow him now) dropped a big tease for The Talking Dead, the half-hour live talk show that airs immediately after each episode. He promises that he and The Walking Dead creator/writer/producer Robert Kirkman have a "special announcement" to share.

Not just an announcement, mind you. Something "special."
