There has to be a betting line on who gets it before the end of the season. Rick, Tyrese and Judith are the only ones I would put in the safe column. Merle/Governor/andrea/michonne seem the most likely to go. I'd put Herschel/Darryl/Glen/Maggie in the next group. Carl/Beth/Carol seem unlikley to go. I'd be surpirsed if we even see Morgan again this season.

The weasel scientist is the wild card.

Merle/Governor is where the sharp money is. Probably both kick it in the last episode.

Agree. The Governor will most likely have an encounter with the target of his revenge and will not fare too well. Merle's weakness's will be his undoing.

Didn't like the episode. Too much talky talky. Token zombie killings for a few laughs.

I thought this episode did a good job of incorporating some zombie action in a way that simultaneously broke up the long segments of dialog (which were fine) and doing so in a way that promoted some character development and contributed to the storyline (a little bonding and Shakespearean underling dialog between Darryl and the menthol guy).

I'm not remembering her doing anything in that episode other than firing a gun into the air (which, by the way, in a prison with a baby in it, would have caused crying, but I digress). Is that what got you all hot and bothered?

- the development/interaction between the leutenants of the two groups;

- showing the gun taped to the table just to indicate that the gov. has something up his sleeve but leaving it go at that;

- the byplay between Darryl and the gov's Lt. when the zombies come.

Am I the only one here who wants to see Herschel being chased by a zombie?

Foreshadowing to a following week when they meet back at the shack under the guise of a "deal", but both planning to attack the other.

this was may favorite part. as it developed you can tell that at its core, everyone has been effected deeply by this situation. I almost wanted the outside guys to walk into the room and say "Hey A-holes, we are all this big ####-storm together and you 2 overinflated egos take it outside and settle it and leave the rest of us to figure out how to get the human race back in order here instead of killing each other off and making more F'ing zombies!"

Other than Andrea doing something stupid again (which is pretty much par for the course with her character at this point) there wasn't anything about the episode I didn't really enjoy.

I liked the first statement where the writers made it seem he realized the Gov is and no matter what he said about "give me Michone and I'll leave you alone" was and he saw through it.IMO, THAT would have been the best way to leave it..

Makes him cooler than everyone else? Other than keeping the noise level down, I was wondering the same thing. Can't do too much with 3 arrows when you have an AK firing at you.

I didn't have a problem with Rick not killing The Governor. It was clear Andrea had set up the meeting and told Rick that The Governor wanted to talk. Rick likely figured it was worth hearing him out and seeing if they could avoid any further bloodshed.

Other than Andrea doing something stupid again (which is pretty much par for the course with her character at this point) there wasn't anything about the episode I didn't really enjoy.

The meeting allowed those under the Gov's command to see that the "Terrorists" that attacked them were not that different from them. Daryl and the Gov's Henchman ended up appreciating each other, and the doc/scientist bonded with Herschel. spoiler below based on the previews that some try to avoid:

Based on the previews for next week, the bonding between the scientist and Herschel is a big foreshadowing that the meeting was necessary to save Ricks group.

Love what they're doing with Merl and Michone. Feel like those guys are growing as characters versus being so one-dimensional.

That whole meeting thing was weird. The gov has never shown any kind of honor with anything and he had a chance to completely wipe everyone out (which is what he is planning for the second meeting anyway).

I do like the gun taped to the table but never used (at least not yet).

What was ridiculous about it. Rick is not a cold blooded killer, and he has folks outside the shack that could be killed if something were to go down. Guv' is a schemer, and doesn't want to JUST kill rick, he wants Michonne and all of them dead. So it didn't make sense for either one of them to kill the other in the shack. The dialogue in the meeting was good, the scenes outside the shack were good, the scenes back at the prison were good. Not sure what else you want. Maybe there wasn't a lot of zombie killing, but that wouldn't have changed much.

Got it, but it was a nice opportunity for Rick to see the primary motivation of the Gov. is blood lust for Michonne. He laid it out there and never wavered, a weak spot exposed to his enemy. Quick side questions, revenge for killing Penny or making him a cyclops?

Yup. I think the Governor scored more points when it came to the psychological warfare (his story about his wife dying was clearly a dig at Rick and he went full-on with the Shane/Lori mention) but Rick learned some things about his opponent. I think he did the smart thing. Why risk having more innocent people die at this point if it can be avoided? Rick had to at least find out if it could be.

Maybe you missed the part where ammo is low and they are conserving it for the "war". Also, before someone says "well then, stand next to the fence and stab them" they are also concerned the Gov and his men could attack again at any time.

My guess would be a combination of saving ammo and reducing noise that would bring more. They aren't going to chew through the fence, so why not just leave them there, where they can also serve to attack someone coming upon the prison?

I get that it's great for killing zombies without bringing a herd down on them, but yeah, zombies are your least worry if you need to use a weapon at the meeting. Andrea... just die. I'm happy they kept her along so far just to see the look on her face when they told her to shut the hell up and get the hell out. Now, just die the hell dead. Such an uppity busybody with yet another opportunity to leave the Gov, this time with an armed escort and armed with the knowledge that he did something pretty bad to Maggie, but she goes back... with a wistful look before hopping in the Ford with the psychos. Her and Gollum must have a plan to save Woodbury, but how much of Woodbury wants to get saved from the Gov? She's going to try but the mystery zombie-bus driver is going to foil her plan. Gollum will kill the Gov, no doubt in my mind.

I have my theory about who the painful death will be, and I think some scenes last night lent some weight to it. It's a comic spoiler so don't click if you don't want it.

I thought for sure when Glen and Maggie were getting it on that they were back to the Do Something Stupid and OUt Of Character So Zombies Can Sneak In formula, but was very delighted that they didn't. Still, the fact that they both left the watch (as well as Rick and Herschel standing out in the open pedestrian bridge a few days after the Gov proved he could put one in the forehead from that distance) made me wince. It seems like maybe they're toying with us and dangling all the things they used to wrong on the show in front of us to make us worry that they're reverting back to the crappy formulae that made lots of last season almost unbearable.

My guess would be a combination of saving ammo and reducing noise that would bring more. They aren't going to chew through the fence, so why not just leave them there, where they can also serve to attack someone coming upon the prison?

Agree with both, saving ammo and another defense perimeter for anyone approaching the prison. A little harder to be sneaking around the prison at night with lots of walkers around. Untill they get so numerous that they could present a physical threat to the fence itself, no need to get rid of them now.

Psycho army could be rushing the gates at any second while the two best fighters are away and both of them decide to leave the post unwatched (especially with Glen asserting so much authority) is flat out stupid and had the show's team decided to have the Gov's army attack at that time, it would've been an insulting way to do it.

I'm not saying it right. I'm not saying that Glen and Maggie wouldn't be so tempted as to not do it. I'm saying that if the showmakers had them get busy just so that they could have the Gov's army or walkers attack at that time would've been a return to the lean times when they had people do something stupid just to get the action going. They didn't, obviously, but I'd bet a large portion of the viewers were expecting it to happen instead of just enjoying farmer's daughter getting nekkid.

Loved the episode, although I do agree with Snogger that I thought it was a little weak for Rick to say that to Herschel. I understand it, but I really thought Rick read the governor correctly and it sucked to think that he didn't completely. I understand his wavering as there is a chance, but as Merle has said many times, they have to kill the governor, no ifs ands or buts about it. I am glad that the nerd finally grew some, as much as I despise his and Andrea's weakness, I hope they whack the governor.

Caught it as well, but still wondered how he would know. Pretty sure he didn't tail their car (would have been easy to see tracks where they had to go around the accident), so they had to have seen the bags. I guess you could guess what was in them.Stuff like that makes me hope Rick doesn't do something stupid with Michonne. With the chesire cat like grin on the governor, seemed pretty easy to know he wasn't being truthful. If he really just wanted Michonne, why kill one of Rick's crew, why lie about Merle being behind the kidnappings completely (Rick knows about Maggie)? If Rick gets weak, that would really suck because he has to know the governor will not keep them alive even if he gets Michonne.

He took off his eyepatch to show the scarred remains of his eye and you thought he was going to ask for Maggie instead of the woman who did that to him (along with decapitate his daughter and destroy his head collection)? No, I didn't think that he was going to say Maggie.

IMO, I'd bump Darryl up to the safe side with a Merril saving the day and him in the process kind of moment and I'd downgrade Glen to the group with the Governer. There seems to be far too many Alpha's around and he just doesnt fit anymore
