I haven't read the last few pages, but I'm gonna mention what bothers me so far from this season. And it's how the TV show has depicted the prison. The comics gave the prison enough time to be home. Hershel has a garden, Andrea started making winter and summer clothing out of prison garb, they cleared the gym, infirmary and the prison's weapon's stash. In the comics, the group was at home in the prison. They weren't held up in one cell block like they are in the TV show. In the TV show, nothing has been done to secure the prison. Walkers still lurk in the tombs. Tyrese and his group showed us that there's an entirely unsecured wing that can be breached.
TV prison isn't home. Why should I care whether Rick stays to protect the prison? AMC hasn't given us any reason to care what happens to it. In fact, since turning away Tyrese nothing has really happened at the prison. All the complaints I saw made about the farm, magnified in the prison. I'd rather see them split and find a new home. But of course, we must have the war. To quote Ben Folds, "The Battle of Who Could Care Less".
Yea you are right.. Really wish they would have spent 2 or 3 shows with them planting a garden and making clothes

FYI.... the upcoming battle isn't really about the Prison..
It's about the Guv wanting the people in the Prison dead and those in the prison trying to survive.
Way to completely miss the point.

The comics and the T.V. show have their own story going..
Similar in concept, but many changes, including Daryl and Merle..
IMO, in the show they are defending the prison because it is safer then anywhere else right now, NOT because they made it a home.
There is no way in heck the people watching the TV show want them to drag out the prison story line to the point the comics did..
All you had to do was be active in this thread during the 2nd season at the farm to know that.
