That was ridiculous.
:goodposting: In more ways then one. Two among many.1) How did the governor catch up so fast.2) Rick was right there and Andrea put up no fight. One noise would have done it.
How did the Guvnah know what field Andrea would in? That was way the hell out there. She didn't hear him coming? He knew exactly where she was going when she got away? I thought she was lost. Where is Herschel's garden???

The warehouse scene was terrible. I felt like I was watching a scene from Halloween. Very little advancement this week. Leaving important characters entirely out of multiple episodes. To watch Guv and Andrea walk around the countryside? Come on!

On the plus side the zombie BBQ was pretty awesome, laying in the pit all cooked up but still moving

Love this show. Also love it when people watch then come here and whine about it because it doesn't live up to their expectations.

There's a button on most remotes that lets you change the channel. I hope 70% of people in this thread start using it.

You realize the people that have expectations to live up to are the reason the show exists in the first place?

I thought it was a good episode. Liked it better than last week. Only part I didn't care for was Andrea's lack of perception when she got to the prison. I thought the gov's gun was out of bullets, so she just allowed him to put his hand over her mouth and that's it? no struggle after all she's been through? Bite his hand and shout for Rick's attention? Course then the walkers would converge on them, but they've shown they can handle them. But then again, if they played it like that, Rick would/could have shot the gov and that would water down their impending showdown.

And she should have taken his truck. But I liked the episode. At least there's no more speculation on whether Andrea is with Woodbury or Rick's group. She knows the gov is a psycho now.

So how is she going to get out of the chair?

Guess is Milton or, based on the interaction Andrea had as she split Woodbury, Terese. Hoping Terese..

Wouldve been awesome ending if instead of Andrea in the chair (which was all too obvious) it wouldve been zombie Andrea in the chair.

and the problem with that is  Seriously.. A show that includes Zombies adds a nostalgic horror film feeling.

I like the idea of having episodes featuring characters other than Rick, but this was just a bad, poorly-conceived episode.

I figured maybe Milton will save her. Tyreese is too gullible. The gov would explain to him that she is there on her own accord to test out the new town barber chair. The she is handcuffed and gagged because, well, she's into that sort of stuff. Tyreese would buy it. Now his sister... she might save her.

This is getting really old. We know it's going to come down to Governor vs. Prison, so why are they trying to make us think Captain One-Eye is in danger? We were really supposed to believe that he died in the warehouse? Come on. They've been stalling for like 4 episodes now.

I don't know.. I thought it was fine. It developed the gov and Andrea's characters, and even Milton. The opening scene with Michone seemed out of place, though.

That part was fine, and I appreciate what they were trying to do. But the post on the previous page about how every plot development was both completely predictable and tiresome was spot on.

They showed us how insane he really is. And they showed Andrea the same, and she made her choice. It also showed how captain eye patch is a bad-### in combat and not just some harmless face that was chosen leader. He's afraid of nothing and is relentless and is set on destruction and holds a grudge and has a vendetta against Michone. It seems before it's over, he will have his shot at Michone, alone. My guess is Andrea will kill him and save Michone like Michone saved Andrea at the farm.

We knew all of that the 2nd or 3rd time we met the Woodbury town.

It wasnt the best episode, but at least Andrea has finally chosen sides. It'll be interesting to see what happens to Milton now that he's defied the Gov.

I'm not usually one to nitpick, but I guess we're supposed to believe that Andrea is shockingly unaware of her surroundings. I could have done without Andrea getting grabbed by the zombie. It didnt make any sense. She ran up to the tree from the side. She would have seen the zombie. I can deal with a few instances of lazy writing during the course of any show, but I dont like it when writers rely on dumb luck to make major plot advancements. When the Governor jumped out of the bushes at the end, it felt like the show had morphed into The Following. Anyway...end of rant.

Looking forward, I expect Milton to sacrifice himself to save Andrea. He knows about the room and he no longer trusts the Governor.

We knew all that about him already. Seems like banging us over the head softly with a slow moving mallet with info they hammered into us three or four times already when there's only 3 episodes (last night included of course) left. Kind of a waste in a short seasoned show.

Good programs don't just lazily give you what you expect all the time. Remember how Season 2 of the Sopranos was a slow build toward the inevitable showdown between Tony and Richie Aprile? That's how you make a quality show.

 I don't have a problem with how it is playing out. To each his own.

We didn't know it to this extent. We assumed it. Plus the other characters knowledge has to be considered. The Gov has really been a masterful politician, it took this long for Milton to get it for example. So you see the same manipulation of Tyrese that, as the audience, we bought for a while when Andrea first showed up. Lets not presume that all the characters should be at the same level of knowledge about the Gov. If they didn't spend time showing how Milton, Andrea, etc come to find out about him, it would be a pretty flat show. This is a character-first show, despite all the cries for MOR ZOMBIEZZZ!!!11!It's not an action series ultimately.

The episode was okay, but it did seem like a "filler" week to get to the real action that is (hopefully) coming in the next two weeks.

I think that is why some are disappointed. When you only have three episodes left, and you get that last night, it is sort of a let down.

Well said. We assumed the gov was crazy. But, to me, this episode showed how relentless that guy is. But yet, he still has the ability to keep newcomers like Tyreese's group in the dark with his politics. His character is better now than it was the first few episodes in Woodbury, IMO. He seemed too soft to play the "governor" that we've read about. But now we know he is insane and cares for no one but himself.

Whoever was writing this episode, watched too much Friday The 13th part 23 and Nightmare on Elm Street 45 among others.Andrea in teh chair, while I figured that was coming the second the camera he grabbed her in the bushes, was cool looking. She's in a world of #### right now.

:goodposting: Agree, I liked the episode. Sort of agree with some of the comments about the Governor grabbing Andrea at the end. I didn't mind Andrea not seeing the first zombies because she had to jump into the woods to avoid the truck. We all know about "sleeping" zombies that pop-up when they hear something. The ending was something that had to happen even if it was predictable, but I was really hoping Andrea killed the Governor. That would have been a sweet way to go.Stu is right above, why wouldn't the governor grab the keys to his truck? Why leave them in the truck to make it easier for Andrea to escape?

Didn't think it was that bad of an episode. Was a bit predicatable though. You knew Andrea wasn't going to get the Gov's car (whether he took the keys or, it was on the far side of the buildings) and you knew the Gov wasn't going to die even though he seemed to be cornered by zombies. The thing that bothered me the most was the time-sense. Andrea covered alot of ground running to get to the prison and needed to stay off the road after the first hour of her run. Just looked that the day didn't turn properly during that episode.

That was ridiculous.
:goodposting: In more ways then one.

Two among many.

1) How did the governor catch up so fast.

2) Rick was right there and Andrea put up no fight. One noise would have done it.
I thought about that too. I think they were saying she was way too tired to even put up a fight being should could barely raise her hand and looked to be traveling all night just to get to the prison.

I don't know.. I thought it was fine. It developed the gov and Andrea's characters, and even Milton. The opening scene with Michone seemed out of place, though.
I enjoyed the episode but I also wondered what the point of the flashback was. It didn't add to anything or further either character in any way.If I was to criticize anything else, it's probably that this episode should've come sooner. Andrea's realization that she needed to get out of Woodbury took far too long and it's something a lot of us have had problems with. I realize the reasons why the writers wanted to do it all at this time but Andrea's character suffered in the process because the longer she stayed at Woodbury the more idiotic she looked.

But overall I enjoyed the episode. It amped up the tension, finally brought Andrea's character back from the dead (only to kill her off maybe?) and introduced the Governor's torture chamber which I read last night is a pretty big deal in the comics.

I can't help but imagine he will somehow survive the battle at the prison and get Michone in that chair at the end. I haven't read the comics so I don't know what will happen.

is it me, or did the Gov look like he got scratched on the face by a zombie??
It did, but IIRC that isn't a problem. There was a discussion in season 1(?) between Rick and Shane where they speculated that a zombie with no visible bite marks may have turned due to scratches. Later we learned that "everyone turns".
