I don't know.. I thought it was fine. It developed the gov and Andrea's characters, and even Milton. The opening scene with Michone seemed out of place, though.

I enjoyed the episode but I also wondered what the point of the flashback was. It didn't add to anything or further either character in any way.

I think it further built on Michone's character, showing just how vengeful she can be. We know the two walkers chained with her were someone meaningful in her life at some point but when asked about it she chooses not to talk about it with Andrea, the only states that 'they got what they deserved'

While I am assuming a scratch might not always lead to death, i.e. there is something that has to pass from zombie to living to "infect" them which always happens in bites. With scratches, I assume that you have to draw blood from the living and pass the "virus". If you are in a death match with a zombie and they scratch you, chances are you will be infected bad enough that you will turn.

What virus? The one that everyone is already carrying? We're still worried about being infected with that?

We have no idea what "it" is or what zombies "pass" to us when they bite people. Every single bite on this show has turned someone, so again, there is something that zombies infect people with that causes them to die. I didn't say the virus that the zombies infect living people with is the same as that which reanimates them. Obviously, everyone on the show has the reanimation virus and it doesn't kill them. That said, do people live after being bitten (without amputation to stop the infection from spreading)? I am pretty sure we have not a single shred of evidence that someone bitten didn't die with a bite, again without a timely amputation. I've been watching the show, I understand the difference between death and reanimation. Feel free to show me an example where a zombie doesn't pass something to the living in a bite or deep enough scratch to kill them.Remember Jim's bite mark? Pretty sure that if Dale bit him like that, Jim wouldn't have died. So, the zombie bite passed something, possibly a virus, that killed him. That was my point.

Just want to point out that "possibly a virus that kills him" reads much differently than "the virus that turns him". And with as much close-quarter zombie fighting we've seen, I can't imagine the Gov was the first character to be scratched. I don't recall seeing anyone die from that. There was a reference to it in regards to some police officers (or security guards?) with no bite marks but that turned out to be Rick simply not ready to disclose what Jenner told him.

I could see it getting read wrong, but I would hope at this point everyone knows everyone has the reanimation issue and that bites area fatal unless chopped off quickly. Scratches, no idea. Deep enough, like a bite, death. Surface scratch where nothing is transferred, I could see survival.That said, the reference to the police officers was a red herring in terms of scratches. That was one of our clues to what Jennings told Rick about carrying the reanimation virus, because there were no visible marks, so they assumed it was scratches. Now, that comment could also give us a confirmation that scratches do cause death as Shane and Rick wouldn't have said that if that hadn't been the case in previous incidents. I could also be not remembering the exact words as I am taking your comment as what they said.

Also, didn't Jennings say he wasn't sure of the source, i.e. didn't know if it was a virus or bacteria? I know it is a McGuffin, so it doesn't really matter, but just realized it is interesting that Jennings knew they were all carriers, but didn't really know what it was.

Has the identity of the two walkers not been explained on the show yet? I sometimes get the TV show and the comics confused with information that has been talked about.

I know it's bad form to come into a show thread and #####, esp when you are new to the show. That being said this season isn't good.

The first season was about "the zombie apocalypse" and the immediate triage of what happened. It also set up some rules of the new normal.

The second season wasn't all that far after. The group was still figuring out what happened. They were still trying to find a new home so they could start the process of starting over. Sure the show had some drama between the two alpha males and you had the dichotomy with the Farm group. But more or less the show was humans trying to survive zombies, setting up a food water shelter supply and starting over.

This season has been two factions at War with each other....... why exactly? The whole focus has changed from a show about surviving the zombie apocalypse to a war with one eye willie. Sorry.... lot came off the old fast ball this season. Nobody is worrying about clearing out the zombies out front of the jail. Nobody is worrying about food/water/medical supplies. Nobody is worried about getting electricity back up and running. We got a war with some dude that nobody gives a crap about.

I thought the same thing then re-thought it.Michonne could take them out in about 15 minutes but my guess is they don't want to be that exposed in case the Gov shows up again and starts blasting. That's how the one dude got taken out. They also don't want to waste ammo so the walkers get to roam.

That's true. The 'gas' question was a test of reaction on Tyrese. Then he re-phrased it for Milton with the 'I already know' to see his reaction. Gov. is super-human.I need to review the episode where Rick meets up with Morgan again to see if that same truck is in the background somewhere. Morgan was stockpiling so the gas is possible with him if he has snapped out of his funk.

The show is much more entertaining when it makes you think.

I think MT is being very sarchastic in his response that it is far too obvious that it must not be true. If you ever went into the Jodi Arias case, it is similar to the hamster/gerbil dude believing that aliens killed her boyfriend and she is covering up for them to keep the intergalactic peace treaty in tact, because it is way too obvious that she did it.

Gov. is super-human.

No doubt. He knows exactly where to find Andrea in his pickup. He knows she is in the old factory. He can take on 20+ zombies with little trouble. He knows how to find Andrea and reel her in just before Rick sees her at the prison. He can sell all the newbies on his lies back in Woodbury. He knows how to manipulate Milton and has him figured out. Koolaid larry believes the Gov will be gone in the next few episodes before the season ends, never to return. I think smart money supports the Gov living beyond this season.

I didn't think the Andrea walker thing was that bad. She had to jump in the woods, the 3 walkers would have been easy for her, no issue. We have seen walkers "wake up" before, so not a big stretch to have one behind the tree not moving until she got there. Definitely obvious it was going to happen, no doubt. At this point, people aren't super afraid of walkers, at least the ones that have lived outside of Woodbury for a while (Rick's crew, Andrea, Michonne), they just deal with them.To be honest, I really thought it would have been a nice ending to see the governor go down. Here's a guy who hasn't really been out by himself without others and being heavily armed. He really screwed the pooch and Andrea pulled a great move on him. With no gun or shovel and 8-10 walkers pressing on him, realistically, he should have been a goner. I think Andrea with those 4 walkers paled in comparison to the governor getting away.

I think this has been a very good season so far. I'd say to this point it's slightly below Season 2 primarily because Shane was such a strong character and watching him and Rick head toward their inevitable showdown was terrific. I think the show has gotten consistently better as it's gone on but I really enjoyed the Rick-Shane stuff and Shane has been a tough character to replace. But I haven't been disappointed with this season at all. We'll see what the last two episodes brings. It's entirely possible they'll be so good I'll end up ranking this season as my favorite to date.

I guess I'm one of the few that finds him very believable. I could easily see some average guy, middle-manager type becoming like him. I find his character far more interesting than the one in the comic.

So has it been agreed upon that Milton lit the zombies on fire or was it someone else? And Milton knows where to find Andrea for sure. And Milton has feelings for Andrea, while he's believing less and less in his agenda driven Governor buddy.

The Gov's losing people important to him left and right because he's so obviously crazy.

Haven't read the comics but I also like him. I thought he was terrific last week in particular during the scenes with Rick.

I agree that I like the portrayal of the Governor from the TV show better. The comic Gov was too far over the top and not really believable as someone who could politic his way as a leader to so many people. AMC has done a much better depicting the life in Woodbury vs the comic at the expense of the prison.

I guess I'm one of the few that finds him very believable. I could easily see some average guy, middle-manager type becoming like him. I find his character far more interesting than the one in the comic.

Haven't read the comics but I also like him. I thought he was terrific last week in particular during the scenes with Rick.

well, in the comics is is even more twisted and at first I was having some issues comparing Comic Book Guv to TV Guv.... that was until The last couple weeks when the TV Guv has morphed nicely into the disturbed Comic Guv.. The torture room, especially the scene with the Rings at the end of chains connected to poles was and the TV Guv, IMO fits the role nicely

So has it been agreed upon that Milton lit the zombies on fire or was it someone else? And Milton knows where to find Andrea for sure. And Milton has feelings for Andrea, while he's believing less and less in his agenda driven Governor buddy.

The Gov's losing people important to him left and right because he's so obviously crazy.

Actress playing Andrea confirmed it is Milton; she spilled the beans on 'Talking Dead'.

Not sure if you're serious so I'll explain...The actress who plays Andrea was a guest on the Talking Dead following last nights ep. She confirmed, in an interview format, that Milton fired up the pit zombies.

The bad casting of the governor continues to snowball, getting worse. I just don't believe this guy.
