***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (2 Viewers)

Kind of hard to believe that nobody in the prison heard that tank rolling up. Those things are not exactly what you would call "quiet".
This show has about 5 "Oh come on" moments an episode. Just gotta let them go.
1. Tank rolls up with and fires a round and no zombies are anywhere near it. Thing would be like the Pied Piper of Hamlin drawing zombies after it.

2. Michonne cuts off zombie heads right and left with her katana but it takes the Guv 5 hacks until it comes off. Technique must be everything

3. They want to use the prison for themselves but basically tear the place apart to take it.

4. Rick is hiding behind an oil tank or something like that and the Guv's people just walk right on by it without looking at all.

5. Why the hell is the tanker shooting at buildings and not at the people shooting at the Guv crew? So idiotic.

ETA: Great episode though. :)
We constantly see Walker heads squished and squashed far more easily than a living human head would be. That's been the case since the series began.

As far as No. 3 goes, I think that points to the flawed nature of Brian's plan. He clearly hadn't thought it through or just didn't care (this is likely the case) that destroying the prison would go against the whole "Let's find a safer place to live" idea. I don't think he ever wanted that. He wanted revenge and he wanted to inflict as much pain as possible. Finding safe haven was his line of BS he was using to string his followers along.
to carry on.. If I recall.. The Guv swung down at Hershel's neck, rather then across. thus hitting the collarbone as he attempts to go for the kill shot.

Agreed on #3 explanation.

#5 - Not like anyone in that tank had any training.. The fact they could actually hit "the broad side of a prison" was in of itself a miracle ;)

I think the rat in the box is from a science experiment and holds a key to the cure. The doctor guy might think he has a cure but needs more evidence.
I don't know if Bob has gotten that far but agree that he's at least making an attempt. The carefully dissected rat pinned to the board wasn't something a kid would just randomly decide to do.

But I've been saying all season that Lillie doesn't have anything to do with the rats, so maybe I'm biased.

The only thing I took as REALLY stupid was when Daryl shoved a grenade down the barrel of the tank and the inside of the tank exploded. That wouldn't happen. Would it even mess the barrel of the tank up? I don't think it was an incendiary grenade.

Kirkman addressed that in the Talking Dead. He mentioned that Governor came ot the point where he knew Rick was swaying his people that they both could live there. Then when he saw the girl was killed by zombie he basically ordered the full attack, basically with no care of keeping the prison. It was more about taking down Rick.

I want to see the myth busters where they test out Daryl's zombie shield move.

A grenade down the barrel will #### up a tank.

Just think a baby's a different deal.
Interesting, a baby can't even comprehend the terror going on. Seems like a 6 year old is the bigger line to cross to me. Both defenseless innocent children, etc.
I'm not saying it's OK to kill a child of any age. :) Just think killing a baby seems like a pretty huge line for a show to cross. Not saying this one won't but don't think they did in this case.

So are we taking bets on whether Judith is dead?

I think she is (despite the strap issue and the fact that zombies seem to tend to just kneel over and messily eat but I'm just chalking that up to lack of continuity).
I say still alive.. When the kids saved Tyreese, he had been shot, so I believe it was his blood all over the seat as he grabbed her and ran with the kids.
There's no way he was bleeding that much. He'd be dead.
+1 There was a ton of blood in that car seat. But then, there would have been more than blood around if a zombie dined on baby food.

Also REALLY stupid:

-Headshot Carl suddenly can't shoot 50 yards with a friggin rifle. "OMG it's 50 yards!!!" -Daryl

-Daryl holding up the zombie as a shield while people 20 yards away fired machine guns at him. He'd be full of holes.

-The previously mentioned ignoring of Rick. But also Rick and all these peeps with knives all over their person, but Rick goes for the flying body block on the Governor instead of just stabbing him.

- Cutty using a 4" post and then some pots as cover. Completely unscathed.

-Just about everything involving the tank.

-Chick suddenly walking up with her dead daughter out of nowhere. OHAI

-Zombies suddenly showing up all over the camp - I though there was one massive tank hole in the fence? Did some errant shots from the tank blow more?

Daryl didn't want Carl shooting not because he didn't think Carl could hit One Eyed Bri. He was worried about what would happen if he did - like Rick being killed for starters.

I don't have much of an issue with the missing gunshots. These people aren't soldiers. Sure, they may have had some target practice, may have killed some zombies, but not too many of them have ever been fired upon in return, while most shooters are actively seeking cover/in cover. Besides, some of the main characters were shot anyways.

I found that rather amusing too. Reminds me of when my kids were young and I put my hands over my eyes and telling them they weren't there because I couldn't see them.

I would think cutting off a zombies head would be easier than cutting off a live person's head. Zombies head/muscles etc...would be weaker and squishier right? I mean, they are decaying, right?
I wouldn't think there is that much muscle in a neck where it would matter much. Problem is more the neck bone than the muscles.

This is a product of Hollywood. It's like when someone in a movie flips a wood table on its side to use for cover. Because everyone knows that bullets can't penetrate wood.

#3, perhaps on the first shot, but I wouldn't think it would take an enraged governor hacking 4-5 times. Hershel's body didn't look that torn apart (to address the enraged gov missing right and left).

#5; weren't they national guard? I'd guess they have to give them some practice at the ole tank driving range.

Are you inferring they can? Time to re-think where my life has been going.

It will slow the bullet down though.

My favorite is the hide-behind-the-couch maneuver. That stuffing is like Kevlar, apparently.

So much dumb in these last few episodes...no since in really going over it...

And no way that baby is dead...how in the hell would a zombie unbuckle her from the car seat?

Oh wait...writers of this show don't give a crap about making sense...so, maybe she is dead. Although I doubt it. She's with the "Lord of the Flies Crew".
Not sure if this is sarcasm or not, but just in case it isn't... A zombie wouldn't unbuckle her, he would eat her while she was still in the seat. Explains all the blood.

I think she's dead. Showing a baby being eaten by a zombie is just too dark, so it happened off camera.
I'm pretty sure I saw the straps were opened. And on the Talking Dead they specifically said we don't know if Judith is alive or dead.

A grenade down the barrel will #### up a tank.
If the breach was left open, maybe.
Even if not it can render the barrel useless.
Maybe. I have read alot about military history and I can't ever recall hearing about soldiers doing this. I'm not saying it can't and hasn't happened, I just have not heard or seen much at all regarding it. And if the breach is closed, it's not going to have the affect on the tank that they showed in this episode.

Didn't they put German grenades down the barrels of those guns in Band of Brothers? They weren't tanks, but the barrels are similar, I would assume.

Yeah but they also shoved TNT down the barrels. They set it off with the German "potato masher" grenades.

Incendiary grenades have been used to put artillery pieces out of commission. Regular grenades can be used to set off other explosives as well.

Fair enough. That's why I asked. Although I thought that they didn't use the TNT on some of them.

I still want to know why no one has mentioned the radio signal they were picking up in the car a few episodes back. Seems like a pretty important event to me.
Because the show is modeled after Lost, where characters regularly withhold vital information from each other for no conceivable reason. See also: Rick finding out that everyone is infected and not telling the group for another season and a half.

This really isn't accurate. The show has always answered major plot points it created. Rick found out about the infection at the end of Season. He told everyone at the end of Season 2 (not very long between those events on the show's timeline). This show is nothing like Lost in that regard.

Has Daryl even had time to talk to Rick about the radio? I've been a bit inebriated the past 3 or 4 episodes. I know they had time together last night, but they were discussing Carol. Was there any other time they could have discussed the radio thing? Remember, the two epsiodes prior to this last one was basically about the Governor, and that was all taking place at an "earlier" time regarding the main group/prison.

Nope. There hasn't been time for the two of them to talk about it at all really.

I was waiting for one of the black guys to shove a banana in the tailpipe.
On the couch?

Yeah. When Daryl and his group got back from getting the meds/hearing the radio, that was when Rick was out with Carol, right?

If there's one thing I learned from Bugs Bunny, it's that all you have to do is stick your finger in the barrel of the tank gun and wait for the poor guy on the inside to fire a shell. That'll destroy the tank every time.
