I didn't mind the Beth/Daryl development, but it was a bit much to devote the whole episode to it. Would have liked if it was split between them and say, Carol/Tyreese.

Exactly what I came in to post. I don't mind character development but they could've easily split that in half and have two different stories at the same time. This one was a definite snoozer. And Darryl getting more drunk than a newbie trying moonshine for the first time?! And we all know what would've really happened with a drunk Beth and Darryl in a remote forest in zombie world.

This was the writer's subtle attempt to start to bring Darryl out of the closet. We should have known all along. I mean look at the hair. Adam Lambert anyone?

I thought she looked better in the zombie apocalypse than she did on Talking Dead

Huh. I had the opposite thought. I prefer zombie apocalypse version of Maggie, but real world version of Beth.

I think Emily Kinney is more attractive than on the show.

Lauren Cohen is flat out incredible everywhere.

I really dont get the camping in the woods when there are walkers just cruising around. You would think they could clear a house pretty easy and then board it up for the short term. Seems a hell of a lot easier then sleeping in a lean to.

Well, you said money found and a paper he took out of a frame could be used as toilet paper. They got those items from the golf course club house. They could also look for a storage room and/or check all bathrooms for toilet paper. Money and paper documents can be used as TP, but so can TP.

Well, there aren't many bags of money or picture frames in the woods either. dhockster was suggesting there are plenty of houses/buildings that may be searched for TP. I agree on the bolded. They could at least rotate on a few different sets of characters to change it up a little.

I enjoyed it. I especially liked them scavenging the mirror and hubcaps and at the time wondering what they were going to use them for. Then seeing it a few minutes later. I also enjoyed the whole golfing scene. For those saying they didn't like the character development, and that it was too late, I really don't think it was character "development". I mean c'mon, we pretty much knew everything the writers brought up regarding Daryl and Beth. I just think they wanted to show the relationship "between" these two characters and setting things up for future episodes.

I still can't understand people despising the show (any show), yet still watching it. What a colossal waste of your time/life.

I think starting off the new half-season with episodes that don't really move the group closer together or farther apart is a little boring. I think a slightly heavier emphasis on the oasis would keep people's interest a little more, as well as breaking up the episodes between the groups. We had Rick and Carl, MIchonne, Maggie and Glen, and now Daryl and Beth have an episode solely dedicated to them.

IT's not the content as much as the pacing and presentation.

I think a lot of you people failed high school English or at least the critical reading portion of it. The scene with Daryl and the money was meant to foreshadow the fact that he never had anything nice like the rich people in the club house had. It was further evidenced when he beat the living dead out of the rich club member walkers with the golf club. Fore! And they completely hit you over the head with it when he was throwing darts at the pictures of the club members on the wall.

At the end of the episode Daryl burned the money symbolizing that he is letting go of the person he was and is embracing the person he is, as Beth said he should.

Was this supposed to be the first night after the prison abandonment for them? If so, there aren't necessarily houses within a half day's walk from the prison. They ended up finding the clubhouse but it was full of walkers and dead bodies.

Nope.

I'll go even further and say if the last two episodes were the first two of the series I wouldn't have watched the third. Last week's was one of the weakest episode in a long time and while last night's was much better in my opinion it was nowhere near the level of quality I've come to expect. The good news is in my opinion the first two episodes out of the break were outstanding so I would tend to think these last two episodes represent a glitch on the radar and not a sign of the type of quality we'll be seeing the remainder of the season.

I am not going to say it was an awesome episode, because it wasn't. Was it bad enough that I wouldn't ever watch again, no. I get what they are doing, the prison was a huge part and it got destroyed and they lost Herschel, but they are going a little slow.

That said, we talked about the farm being too slow as well and I enjoyed that whole season, especially the end of it. Next week's episode looks promising.

Last season, I held out hope that Andrea's actions would make a lick of sense by the end of the season. Unfortunately, they didn't as the writers waited far too long to try and provide her with some semblance of intelligence and logic (likely reacting in part at least to the negative fan response). So sometimes patience will pay off and sometimes it won't. We'll see how this season ends.

But it wouldn't be a surprise at all to look back at these last two episodes as a couple of blips on the radar if they finish strong the rest of the way. There definitely seems to be enough potential storytelling ground they can cover that would lead to some really fun stuff to watch.

And that's not even including the seemingly inevitable Tara-Maggie love scene.

In the context of the season and the series, I didn't hate the episode. It was heavy handed and drug on a bit. I think the suggestion of the episode sharing time with another set of characters would have been much better. I think there were some nice moments, but they could have accomplished all they did in much less time than an entire episode.

I've been as critical of this show as anyone, but aside from a few moments (Beth being the new Carl and wondering off into near death because she's mad, and the corny ending) I thought this was a really good episode. I'm surprised at the reaction, I thought people would have been all about this one. The conversations between Beth and Daryl were really good.

"You're going to be the last one standing".

Agreed. Getting some Daryl background was a good thing. And angry drunk Daryl. He also apparently hates rich white dudes.

Really? You needed some Daryl background? Were you under the impression that he was a physics teacher and needed some clarification?

Thanks for devoting an entire episode to remove any doubt that he was a dumb ### hillbilly all this time I thought he was a banker.

The symbolic ######ed burning of his past which has been hit on at least three other times I can think of, him and Rick/Merle/TDog has finally let the bewildered audience in on the fact that he is now a good guy who has changed, it was a mystery to all.

My big concern about the show is if the show continues like this and ratings drop, but is AMC going to do with the budget? I can see a Planet of the Apes death spiral happening.

A ratings drop of some kind would seem inevitable only because the show has been setting records seemingly on a weekly basis and it would seem unrealistic to expect that to continue. There's nothing to suggest, however, that the ratings are in for a potential decline of any serious magnitude based on fan interest. The show continues to be amazingly popular.

I can get on board with this.

I liked S2 and didn't mind the Sophia angle. It was important to find her and lots happened along the way and probably gave the show it's best scene.

I wish the writers would quit being so subtle. I am beginning to have a suspicion that they are trying to tell me something by having a ### #### suicide in every ####### episode. Oh wait no I mean got that little tidbit after the first ten suicides. It is shocking and horrible that half of society would #### out and off them selves if they can't go to 7-11, thanks for the pointless suicide schtick.

It lost is shock value about 50 suicides ago.
