***OFFICIAL 'The Walking Dead' TV Series Thread*** (4 Viewers)

Maybe apologists isn't the right term...but for years now there's been a contingent in this thread that will "explain away" every dumb thing...instead of just saying, "Yea...that's pretty stupid."

Of late, those explanations have finally started to shed away and more are now admit, "this is just a zombie show...what do you want?"

Its much worse to point out inconsistencies in a zombie show than it is to try and explain them.

I'm watching a zombie thing from '04 on HBO called 'Dawn of the Dead'.

These aren't walkers at all. They are sprinters. LOL. These zombies are faster than Sammy Watkins. The undead have no chance.
Such a fun movie.
Fantastic first 10 minutes or so. One of the best openings to a zombie or horror movie around IMO.

(The original is better otherwise).
They are both great movies.

I am partial to Day of the Dead (romero version of course, no idea what the hell that remake was all about, terrible).

It doesn't matter what a show is about. There's good writing and bad writing. TWD has way too much of the latter.

I keep forgetting they are supposed to know down to the T how a zombie apocalypse will play out. My bad.

My favorite show, and one of the top 2-3 shows on TV has bad writing. #### me

I can't wait for some more ####ty writing tonight. Who's with me???????????????????!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
theres no way they can top the A Team style van scene from last week
DOn't bet on it. These are the worst writers and producers out there
I dont think they are the worst(I suggest watching season 2 and on of Homeland, thats cartoonish bad stuff there), they are bad for sure and they took a cool concept and totally effed it up somehow but yet I still watch religiously.

I know right? That was awesome! Only way it would have been better would have been if after the last zobie fell, Darryl had gripped one of those cigs in his teeth and said "I love it when a plan comes together."

Maybe this week, they can end with Rick telling one of those dad jokes and then the music kicks in as the frame freezes on Carl laughing. Action resumes as Michonne cracks a reluctant smile and looks over at Rick, who shrugs as he rolls his eyes, then - bang! - frame freezes again.

C.H.i.P.S. ending, TWD style.

I think it's a highly entertaining show and I'm a big fan. That doesn't mean there's not a lot of lazy writing and WTF moments littered throughout the entire run of the series. Read the article above, the guy's take is pretty spot-on.

This.

It's like the guy is in my head the way he's written about every complaint I've had myself....It's kind of refreshing to see the apologists in here have even tempered their fervor of late.

I think that van flip may have finally opened the eyes of some.
Oh MY GOD, my eyes have been opened!I can't believe that this whole time I thought this was real and it's just a stupid tv show .

You have shattered my fantasy. I can see clearly now all the wasted hours of my paltry life enjoying entertainment all this time when my favorite shows were blatantly disobeying laws of science.

MY GOD

The cabbage gun one the A Team was not real either.

Wait a Minute..... How can Data be a super advanced android but can't use contractions?

The Duke boys can't use guns because it is a probation violation but Bows with Dynamite is OK WTFFFFFFFFFFFF.

ALF IS A FRIGGIN PUPPET^&%%^#%^

You sir have BLOWN my mind.
Alf is a puppet??
He is a not a puppet. He is a real beast from another planet. He lived with Emmitt Smith for a while in 2001 and 2002. You may remember that Alf was struggling with substance abuse at that time. He did some commercials with Smith. Smith felt bad for him and took him in. The friendship came to a screeching halt when Alf got drunk one night and tried to stick his alien love pole in Smith's butt.

100% balls on accurate.

Before anyone pooh pooh's the water bottle homemade water filter, my son said they taught him how to do that a couple of years ago in Boy Scouts. That was pretty cool. I want my boy with me in the zombiepocalypse.

My daughters too, if zombies like thin mints. Otherwise, well I guess they can wash the clothes like Carol used to do in the original tent city back in S1.

So, is Eugene a zombie? He was breathing like one.

What is the lesbian not supposed to look at? (Glen told her walking out of the meadow)

Where does fake cop think he is going to get to?

Cliffhanger will be... that Rick and the lady cop know each other. She's been using a fake name so when they see each other, it will be a reunion of sorts.

I just want to know how/why that one telephone pole took out three people.

Could see the deal with sasha at the end coming from a mile away but otherwise thought this was a good setup episode for next wk

Agreed. I told my son the same thing. It was kind of like the van scene, i.e. they were going to survive in the van and that guy was going to escape. I just didn't like how they did either, but it doesn't bother me since it was going to happen. That said, I liked the rest of the episode and am looking forward to next week.
