No way a group lead by a male, presuming Neegan is a male, would dispatch a hot Latina.  Hot chicks are a valuable commodity in any situation, more less a zombie apocalypse.

LOL. I'm a VERY forgiving viewer, and even I was rolling my eyes at the nonsense in last night's episode. 

 
According to the story sync, Carol's sleeve gun was a Mac 11 sub machine gun.  Where would the cartridges go?  I suppose that if you need to use such a device, that is the last thing you are worried about, but the ejection of 20 per second would have them ricocheting all around inside the sleeve.

Followed by a season of Negan dividing his people into small groups to search for Rick's groups that were searching for the rest of Rick's group.

Not to mention Glenn and Michonne splitting from the other 2, heading back and deciding to stop in the middle of the woods and carry on a conversation. That was ####### stupid.

 
Apparently that particular section of woods is under Dwight's constant oversight.  Seems Darryl might have been more vigilant.  Now his crossbow and bike will go back to Dwight.  those things are getting passed around more than Sasha and Rosita.

What Morgan fails to understand is that he can't capture every bad guy and put them in his little prison cell until they turn good. In the anarchist world they live in, you either kill the bad guys or they kill you.

I'd go to a library and give Morgan a history book.

They probably couldn't get to Alexandria because of all the walkers lead into the quarry.  But they're gone now.

At some point in the timeline, after Daryl's first encounter with Dwight, Dwight makes his way back to Negan.  Dwight knows there's another survivor group out there not associated with any of Negan's vassal groups.  After Negan's people start dropping like flies, they can put two and two together and start searching aggressively for this group.  I've mentioned before that it seems kind of stupid that Hilltop got discovered right away, but not Alexandria.

Only question is how much time has passed since the midnight raid on the observatory and last night when we find out that Negan knows where Alexandria is and has scouted it.

 
so Tara and some other Alexandrian is on a month long supply run?  that is safe?  rick is worried about Darryl on a couple day revenge bender, but a month for Tara is OK?

 
A lot of BS in last night's episode that others already mentioned but one I haven't seen is Carol deciding that it was a good idea to bail in the middle of the night. She likes these people, they are her family and she doesn't give any consideration that by leaving in that fashion that it's an absolute lead pipe cinch that they will come looking for her? I mean she HAS to know that she's putting people in danger by search parties being dispatched to find her. She should have sucked it up told them she was leaving in person. Of course they would have tried to stop her but ultimately she sticks to her guns, tell them she's leaving then they aren't going to follow.

 
The last thing I'd be worried about is Daryl going off on his own.  If I knew he was going to try and extract revenge on the Saviors (something Glenn and Michonne didn't know before they had already decided to go after him).  I'd formulate some plan to take a group and provide him backup and an escape route.  The last thing I would do is catch up with him, try to talk him out of it, and then just say ok-never mind and give up.

I'll have to watch that episode again but I found the aftermath of the Carol shootout, leading up to the farm, very confusing. In the flatbed, there was a single Savior with a spear in the shootout. Then Rick/Morgan came across the aftermath of the car/truck shootout, found a spear, and surmised it must be Saviors in possession of a Hilltop weapon. They go into the field following her, leaving the spear behind. Then the lone surviving Savior emerges from the bushes, and pursues them, also leaving the spear behind. Rick/Morgan see bloody footprints, and since Carol is in front of them and the injured Savior presumably still trailing, you have to think it is her blood. Then Rick/Morgan come across a farm, with a mixture of recent kills and already-walkers. They fire on a guy possessing a (different?) Hilltop spear. Don't you have to assume that is a different guy at the farm than the guy behind Rick/Morgan? Wouldn't Rick logically encounter the pursuer on his walk back to his car? I suspect there is enough mystery to that farm situation that they may show what happened next week.

Pretty bad when the number one fanboy on the payroll has to make note of how dumb the writing is.

Hmmm.. Maybe I need to start drinking while watching ;)

Thought for sure he woke up in the truck, walked past his buddy suffering and started following the path where Carol headed.. Then Rick & Morgan show up and start following the blood trail, thinking it is Carol's, but we all know it was the Savior Survivor..
I guess I missed the part where he ends up behind Rick & Morgan..

and if so, I agree with Tonydead and Bigjim on how does Rick just wander back alone and not run into the survivor?? Maybe he saw/heard the shootout and didn't want to take the chance on facing Rick alone??

Survival strategy often takes a back seat to personal relationships on this show.  I'm fine with that.  People are irrational beings.

Me, I would not risk my hide for a dried up, old, psycho cookie maker, even if she had previously saved my butt, while I might for a scorching hot Latina commando who was showing me a good time.  Same thing if a one-eyed, pimply hormone ran off that is his father's problem, but if a blossoming blond younger sister of some hottie ran off or got separated from the group, frustrated with the lack of boozing and partying and sex available in the apocalypse, well maybe I go looking for her.

It's almost like the writers don't know how to move the plot along and/or create intersting developments without having characters do totally stupid ####.

No, he walks toward her car and they fade to a new scene. I think that is the assumption when Rick/Morgan drive up (that surviving Savior had followed Carol) but he comes out of the bushes near the car after Rick/Morgan walk into the field, and he follows them. Seemingly, he is not in great shape with his injury. 

 
Maybe the writers should stop even trying to craft a linear story.  they could just jump ahead to new situations with no exposition on how we got from one point of time to another, or any explanation on deaths which obviously occurred, and new companions integrated.

 
Yea, guess I wasn't paying attention to how that scene played out as per the AMC Recap:

Rick and Morgan arrive at the scene. They discover Carol’s car, but no sign of Carol. Uncertain whether she’s alive or dead, they follow a trail of blood leading away from the road. The injured Savior emerges from a hiding spot, grabs Carol’s rosary beads from the ground and follows Rick and Morgan.

So.. Either the survivor decides Rick is too bad A$$ to mess with, or he somehow doesn't see Rick walk back, following the same path..

The multitude of vague fakeouts (dumpster, OMG is that a Carol-Walker, Daryl getting shot) are making me long for the Darabont/Mazzara days.  

 
Wondering if Carol...

Goes the way of Carol in the comics now. Torn by grief, she ends up suiciding by walker when she can't take the killing any more. 
I think more then one of the captured group dies.  They've been foreshadowing Glenn dying, but I think it'll be more then him.  My money is on Michonne as well - hopefully not Rosita - would be kinda lazy writing (well she's broken from Abraham, may as well kill her off),

I have a sneaking feeling they kill Michonne---it just seems there was some foreshadowing in the conversation between Rick and Abe there that may indicate this. If not it is going to be Rosita but she is sort of a secondary character and would not have the impact of showing how bad the new villain is. 

I think Darryl got shot in the arm or something like that.

I watched the Fear The Walking Dead encore finale again last night and I was reminded how bad the characters are in that series compared to The Walking Dead

But hey, the final episode is 90 minutes so they will make up for the 3 hours they've wasted these past 3 episodes.  

They needed for some of the key characters to get taken hostage by the Survivors because of what happens next week.

In the comics they get caught while traveling to Hilltop.

They could have done it two episodes ago during the shootout on the train tracks, just have the Survivors retreat with a couple of them in tow.  Or they could have done it this episode after Maggie went into pain and a few of them try to get her to the doctor at Hilltop.

Or they could have just had them keep the one's they captured after the satellite raid.  I'm not sure wtf they have been trying to do the past 3-4 episodes since the satellite raid, other than fill up episodes.

The only plot they are furthering along is Carol,

who commits suicide in the comics
, so my guess is she doesn't make it out of the season finale one way or the other.

The writers only know how to do two types of episodes:

  1. Gratuitous, hardcore nonstop killing action.
  2. Long, drawn out conversations that are supposed to be character development.
We get lots of #2 in between the #1.

He wasn't in any shape to be following them.  Not sure why he did.  I thought he was going to take their car, actually.

Was just teasing with you.  The question of a new group was pure speculation I have.  I have not read the comics so I don't know.  I am aware that there are other groups out there based on common knowledge (same way everyone knows there is a Negan) and was just asking about him.  I put the spoiler part in tags.

Seems like he would have jumped in the truck and went back to his camp to seek medical help.  Made no sense for him to follow anyone off road. 

 
How about this.

Carol was driving from Alexandria, Saviors towards Alexandria.

When Rick and Morgan come upon the scene, the come up on the side of the Saviors seeing them first.  Even though they also were coming from Alexandria and discussing that she may have gone this direction as it was the opposite direction of the savior camp they attacked.

 
This should show us all that they just don't give a crap anymore.  Hype and special effects are all that matters.  Cliff hangers!  Forced dangerous situations arising from illogical choices!

There is no attention to detail anymore.

To me this stuff is more frustrating than the wtf moments.  I find myself keeping track of things in my mind that a normal well thought out and written show would track back to as an important piece of information to the plot.  There are all kind of meaningless happenings in this show.
