19 maps, all GoW1 DLC maps including the PC only ones(Gold Rush and Courtyard) that were ported to GoW2.

It's really good imo.
The shotgun is true if your aim is on, and there's generally no BS.
Playing private matches there were little lag spikes when people would join/leave but that's about it. Looking forward to playing some pub matches with you dorks.
Weapon/balance obsedrvations:
- Boom is a little too weak. 2 shots and seems like the explosion radius is even smaller.
- Nade radius seems pretty small too.
- Pistol is deadly in the right hands (see> dude)
- Kinda miss mortar and ink. Don't miss snub shotty.
The shotgun is true if your aim is on, and there's generally no BS.

I want to believe, but something weird seems to happen if you are right next to someone.
I swear I had the aim lined up true and shots were seemingly going over players shoulders/heads.

It's more gow1 weapon balance than gow2/3 where they went Michael bay.

and still not having that much more success. Something is off with the aim in general.

yeah cliffyb try to be like CoD too much......nade tags/saw-off(weaksauce) instead of fixing servers....
i think MS did a good job with the servers so far....more consistent than before if they just tweak the shottie some

So I played for about 30 minutes last night. Felt like I would unload a whole magazine into a guy and then he would 1 shot me and I would die.

Nades are just like they were in Gears 1 (stun from range, but have to be pretty much right on top of them to kill). Pistol, likewise the same as Gears 1 (2 shots + melee = down).
Agreed on the Boom. In general all of the splash damages were reduced by a lot. Boom is down, nades way down, Hammer of Dawn waaaaaaaaaaaaay down. Even the torque, which only had a minimal splash range to begin with, now effectively has basically none at all.

The lancer is quite weak. Actually it is the weakest weapon in the game. The gnasher is very dependent on aim so try and gard aim or semi aim (popshot) for now. Besides that just try and use the correct weapon at ideal times. Don't use the shotgun from distance because it's strength drops really quick. Don't use lancer up close a ton unless our ready to saw someone. Power weapons will take time to feel out what you like, everyone has the ones they are good at.

My bro who was best man at my wedding got the new gears. We played gears 1 to death. He ended up by the time we moved to gears 2 with something stupid like 30k kills. Me at my lowly 17k kills to 20k deaths. Anyway, we played the #### out of gears 1.
Fastfoward to now and I have two kids, a wife and a house. So I barely get time to play anything let alone have money to buy any systems. I figured I'm siting out the next gen till at least 2016. So he decides out of the blue after playing by himself for a week or so that he's buying me and XB1 gears edition just so he can have his old partner back.

When I logged on there was a message that the servers are being maintained and there could be issues. Then I started 3 games and each time one or more of you got booted. I also couldn't hear any of you so that frustrated me more and I just threw my hands up in the air, turned madden on then fell asleep before it loaded up.

I get on, send invites. Nobody comes so I start a solo death match game. I do OK and sometimes great, but more often then not, I get creamed by full teams after they're done raping my "teammates".
Plain and simple as much as I love this game, I absolutely hate playing it solo.
ETA - The online notification/messaging system sucks. Send me an invite after each game if you notice I'm on. I saw the one you sent but I must have missed it as the invite didn't work by the time I noticed it.

yeah next time give it some time or send me a party invite.....i dont like leaving a rank match mid-game, its not fair to the other players and i was pulling host as well....this game is so fun when the connect is good(host) verse bad connnect. you can tell if you connect is good when the lancer does some kind of damage...
