***OFFICIAL*** Washington Commanders Thread (3 Viewers)

Vikings fan here. Now rooting for Washington I guess as a happy Daniels dynasty owner. What struck me most about the Tampa game was how much success Daniels had running the ball when there really weren’t even that many lanes open for him. We all know he can turn a corner and run for 20 yards, but it was those 7 yard runs that looked like they should have been 2-3 yard runs that just killed Tampa. Always like 2nd and 3. And, guys were running open in the secondary because of how much attention you’ve got to give Daniels. They may need another no-punt game to beat Detroit, but my guess is they feel like they’re playing with house money and make it a fun game

In 1991 Washington won the SB and Duke won the NCAA championship (my life long 2 favorite teams) and man it feels like that could happen again this year!! :drive:

Congrats on winning back to back playoff road games - franchise first

Daniels is terrific

GL next week
Before I thought we had a chance to do anything this year, Detroit was the team I wanted to win the SB.
Same here - I was totally going to be on the Lions bandwagon until they matched up with the Commanders in the playoffs.

Do we think Dyami is for real? He’s on a nice run. Is this a blip or has he developed into a legit threat?
Dyami sure has been clutch in these playoffs, hasn't he? - though it helps to have someone like Daniels throwing dimes at you. He may be a complimentary piece at this point, or perhaps he's starting to come into his own as a WR (he's only 25) - regardless I'd like to see the Commanders upgrade at WR this offseason and add someone like Tee Higgins opposite McLaurin if possible. But it's been nice to see Dyami carving out a role for himself, he's been great.

I really don’t want Philly.
lol, I don’t really want Washington. Maybe we just bomb the AFC and make Philly-Was the Super Bowl?

What is really scary is thinking as an Eagles game we will have to see Daniel’s for the next 6-8 years. They should make every Phi-Was game a national game for a bit, have to think they will be barn burners each time.

I still feel the same way I felt early in the season, and when they got to 7-2 ---- for they don't believe public opinion that they're not that good.

It's a very tight team. And the coaching staff and players seem to feed each other. There's so much buy-in by both players and coaches. When you see them in postgame interviews, and after a bit of "**** yeah we won" it turns into serious-faced "but there are things we still have to work on", you know that's a team that isn't all high on the game they just won. It's a team that wants to rest and then get back to work to get better.

so i am flying home from detroit. I gotta say sharing this season with my 7 year old which is his first watching football and really being excited about the commanders has been emotional. I was about his age when i started watching and saw doug williams win the superbowl. He was my idol. And we actually got to meet him and take a picture with him at the game. Man what a journey we have had with this franchise and im really looking forward to this new journey we have started!

I know we're underdogs, but I firmly believe we've got a solid chance of winning Sunday.

This is a very unfamiliar feeling. Years and years of feeling that we're about to lose games we SHOULD win is having an impact. My currently feeling is almost confusing, a weird echo of how this team used to make me feel when I was a child and we were regularly good.

Same here. It’s strange how little pressure i feel. Yet we are a game away from the Super Bowl. We could lose and I’d be fine with it. But…. Why not now! 🤷🏽‍♂️

So in the event we win. How does one get tickets and rooming for the Super Bowl. I looked at potentially booking a hotel room in advance and there literally are none. I assume i have to go through a package? Yes I’m getting ahead of myself but how does this work.

Last game against Phili Slay shut down McLaurin. I mean to the tune of 1 catch for 10 yards. How does Wash get McLaurin involved? He just seems like Wash best player other than Daniels.

I'd be fine with it if it wasn't Philly. I'd rather have lost last week to Detroit than this week to Philly. Winning would, of course, be awesome. But losing to Philly would be the opposite of awesome x 100. That's the thought I'm having a hard time shaking, but I will say I'm getting more and more optimistic as the week progresses. By kickoff, I should be able to be excited and hopeful.

I don't agree there. The win against the Lions was one of those "against all odds" things you only get to see infrequently in a lifetime.

When the game starts it won't be long before my wife leaves the room, which she does when things are tense. For decades I've watched these guys and usually watching consists of "sitting there until their loss is guaranteed" and then changing channels. This year's different. I keep thinking games are lost and then suddenly they make plays to win them.

Typical game routine at home:
My wife paces the house
Every so often I yell "Holy ****" from the couch.
Wife comes in to see replay
Wife leaves and paces the house
"Holy ****"
in to see replay
paces house
"Holy ****"
in to see replay
paces house

We need enough "Holy ****s" on Sunday.
GL to Eagles fans by the way, but Holy **** do we need this one.
