Thank god, I was prepared to blow a gasket if they traded a pick for Harry.King of the Jungle said:WFT added Adam Humphries. Not sure if he was just way underutilized in TEN but I did like his game when he played for Bucs. This offense will be interesting to watch this year.
They are trying to use him like McCaffrey. Gibson is a good bit bigger but it's the same role. I think he will put up a ton of yards. He's very good.Tanner9919 said:Hi

I know this is personal for lots of people but please let's use the current team name the league does. Thank you.ffmail4me said:Redskins fans (yes they are still my beloved Redskins) isn't it such a contrast now how we have very little coming out of Redskins Park compared to past regimes where there was always some kind of noise...or drama...just none of that now. Its like we are a real football organization I can't wait to see what direction we go in this draft. I hope we load up on the offensive side of the ball (line, WR, TE) and then next year become an attractive destination for Rodgers
Rappaport reports that Washington and Miami swapped the 258 and the 244 picks (7th rounders) to make this trade...so it cost WFT very little.https://www.si.com/nfl/washingtonfootball/news/breaking-ereck-flowers-traded-back-to-washington-source-confirms
Redskins swap late round picks with Dolphins to bring back Eric Flowers.
Didn't cost us hardly anything in draft capital and at worse a quality depth signing. We have to take his contract, which is probably 8 M/ year, which is kind of expensive for a backup? But this may be part of a move to insulate us against Scherff leaving next year. I just have this hunch that this signing means Scherff negotiations not happening and the team thinks they'll lose him. Just something about it.
That said, if we go Darrisaw at 19 our OL may be pretty decent in 2021...
I weighed in, in the Gibson thread. I'm a big fan of Gibson, but I think if you build a little healthy skepticism into your projections, it might prove to be well-warranted. Going all-in on a Player the way you appear to be with Gibson rarely works out well, and you seem really over the moon with him. It might not hurt to play a little Devil's Advocate at some point. I know you know this, as we compete in the same national high-stakes circles across an array of National Contests, and I respect you as a successful player.I'm surprised I don't have a star on this thread yet. I wrote up a big love piece on Gibson in his thread this morning. Curious if homers want to weigh in. I had these guys winning the division last year when they were like 2-7. Granted the rest of the division was garbage but I liked what Rivera was doing and still do. I think Fitzpatrick could actually have an incredible season and the sky is the limit for them this year. Give me a star.
ditto. wondering if we could have traded back however.Shades of Monte Coleman...
...a coverage LB with elite range is something the WFTskins definitely lack. I'm on board.
PFF rated 1st-rounder Jamin Davis as the most-athletic LB in the draft.
ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. had Davis as the 14th-best prospect overall. "The fact that he can cover. He has great range. He tested out very well. He's very instinctive. He's a really nice player."
I think what he may have over the JOK kid from ND is more size to make tackles at the line in addition to covering? He's a great kid, military family, will have ZERO issues off the field. He's also a FREAK if you look at his measurables, 6'3, 234 4.37 40 yard, 42" vertical, and 11' broad jump. And if you look at our defense, this is EXACTLY what we needed, someone who can cover those TEs and WRs. Daniel Jeremiah thinks he could be a rookie of the year type of player for us this season.
Yea at any minute i thought they would trade it all to get a qb.ffmail4me said:Again it takes some getting used to this new organization, that has a real coach and real GM who actually make smart decisions and apparently have found a way to keep Daniel Snyder locked in a basement somewhere. (I'm kind of picturing something like the 9 to 5 movie)
Like you said, little slow, level of competition, and also physical size. Seems like the type of guy that is nice to have familiar with the system at the end of summer because he's versatile and when the RB injuries happen you have a guy floating out there on waivers that is already familiar with your offensive system. The ceiling on a player like that seems pretty low. There were other prospects that seemed much more dynamic in the back half of the 7th round.Interesting pickup of Jarret Patterson after the draft. Kind of shocked nobody drafted him. Competition level plus a bit too slow?
Things are definitely much much different since we got rid of the last 2 idiot GMs and hired a real coach. Such a nice change for us diehard fans that were so spoiled in the 80s/early 90s and have been MISERABLE ever since. As a Bears fan, signing Charles Leno is going to be a sneaky great move for you guys. Feel like I've been thinking that about most of Washington's moves this offseason.
Will Washington get any kind of comp pick for him signing with the Eagles or no?Aloha, Ryan Kerrigan. Liked the person, liked the player. Not elite, but worth the investment. Brought no shame to the B&G.
Wishing you all the best...save for 2x a Season.
Deadline for comp picks has passed. Will Washington get any kind of comp pick for him signing with the Eagles or no?

Maybe it is. Morgan Moses' is a League Average lineman at best. No knock on the guy, he just is what he is, and that's not bad. His greatest attribute is his ability to stay healthy, and man his post every Sunday. He's no John Jansen. Then again, few are. Christian is certainly further down the Totem Pole of OL rankings, but he did an OK job as part of the platoon on the left side last year, IIRC, in tandem with Lucas. This guy from Chicago is pretty good, and apparently they think Flowers is ready to log some snaps back out on the edge, as well as at guard. We'll see, I guess. Gotta keep the heat off Fitz, or we're gonna get more tragic than magic.Morgan Moses and Geron Christian are both released. Not sure it is fair to put them in the same sentence.
Thanks. I hid one of the duplictes.Three dots on the top right of a post and then click Hide.
