So in the event we win. How does one get tickets and rooming for the Super Bowl. I looked at potentially booking a hotel room in advance and there literally are none. I assume i have to go through a package? Yes I’m getting ahead of myself but how does this work.

You could do that. I'd probably look into Airbnbs and buying tickets separate if all the hotel rooms are booked. As you know, NOLA always a popular SB destination regardless of what teams are playing and you'll probably be paying 5-10x the normal nightly rate.

STH get put into a lottery for tickets.

We've already checked Airbnbs, there wasn't really anything "reasonable" in the French Quarter. I think the more "reasonable" prices the closest was Metarie which is like 20 minutes from Bourbon Street.

I assume if you're on email lists, you'll get bombarded with ticket, flight and hotel packages you can buy after the game. Going that route, you're probably looking at about $10,000 for 2 people. My son and I were considering just going down to LA, I have friends in Baton Rouge (a little over an hour away) and just going down an tailgating on Bourbon Street and watching the game there.

I really don’t want Philly.
lol, I don’t really want Washington. Maybe we just bomb the AFC and make Philly-Was the Super Bowl?

What is really scary is thinking as an Eagles game we will have to see Daniel’s for the next 6-8 years. They should make every Phi-Was game a national game for a bit, have to think they will be barn burners each time.
As a Cowboys fan, I don't really want either Philly or Washington to win the SB. I must say though, it really is scary to think about having to face Daniels for maybe the next 15 years. He has been such a clutch player and a complete QB, unlike RG3 years ago. The turn around in Washington this year has been amazing. It hurt even more seeing the former Dallas coach and players having so much success there. I think this weeks game is a tossup and might depend on how mobile Hurts will be. Either way it should be an exciting game .

As a guy from Baltimore and a lifelong (maybe back to life) Orioles fan, I can relate to how you guys feel about the ownership change and the feeling of immediate success thereafter. You guys have had such a great season, this is going to be the new rivalry in the NFC East it seems. While a lot of us Eagles fans are sort of used to/not worried/expecting our OC and a lot of us don't really care too much (I personally think he'll be the next Dallas coach bc Jerry thinks it'll be sticking it to us lol) - I am curious how you guys feel about potentially losing Kliff after the year he had helping develop Daniels so quickly.

Go Birds!

Do we think Dyami is for real? He’s on a nice run. Is this a blip or has he developed into a legit threat?
Dyami sure has been clutch in these playoffs, hasn't he? - though it helps to have someone like Daniels throwing dimes at you. He may be a complimentary piece at this point, or perhaps he's starting to come into his own as a WR (he's only 25) - regardless I'd like to see the Commanders upgrade at WR this offseason and add someone like Tee Higgins opposite McLaurin if possible. But it's been nice to see Dyami carving out a role for himself, he's been great.
Last game against Phili Slay shut down McLaurin. I mean to the tune of 1 catch for 10 yards. How does Wash get McLaurin involved? He just seems like Wash best player other than Daniels.
Washington won that game and scored 36 points. If Philly manages to shut down McLaurin again, Daniels will distribute the ball to Dyami Brown, Zaccheaus, Zach Ertz, Ekeler, etc. Daniels will find the open receiver and move the ball down the field. Honestly I'm more concerned with how Washington will run against that Philly DL.

If you go through the official NFL site for tickets, which I did in 2020 when I went to the SB in Tampa, you're looking at $7k per ticket.

Cheapest get-in tickets I see on the secondary markets are all more than $7000 with fees, so you'd be better off getting them direct from the NFL, especially since they come with few perks and you know it's 100% legit.

You're probably aware that Washington has a long and storied history of hanging on to mediocre HCs for years after their expiration date, while letting their uber-talented young assistants walk and have success leading other teams - see Jay Gruden and Ron Rivera along with Kyle Shanahan, Sean McVay, Matt LaFleur, Mike McDaniel, Kevin O'Connell, Raheem Morris, and so on. Similarly, this current situation also has the potential to hurt but I think you have to let Kliff Kingsbury go if he gets an offer he can't refuse when Washington's season ends, because it really seems like Dan Quinn is the guy responsible (along with Adam Peters and Jayden Daniels) for Washington's turnaround this year, mainly in terms of re-establishing a winning culture after 30+ years of bad football. Kliff has been amazing this season but he has had a rare talent to work with in Daniels, and he's been kind of a mixed bag as a HC going back to Arizona - is his dream job out there right now? Maybe Dallas? I don't know but he might be best served waiting another year, absorbing a little more from DQ, continuing to work with one of the best young QBs in the league, and honing his skills for next offseason. Probably wishful thinking on my part - I hope he stays put for at least another year, but if he leaves, c'est la vie for Washington fans.

Well I don't want to lose him because the offense has been innovative and good all year and much of the credit for that starts with him. But if he gets another chance to be a HC I can't blame him for taking it. He wasn't a good HC before. Maybe this time he will be, or maybe he'll still not be good and will be looking for another job in 2-3 years and we can hire him back as OC when we lose our next OC who goes on to take a HC job.

We'd probably lose Ertz too since he seems to follow Kliff

Let’s go!

Well I hope Peters can quickly improve the talent around Daniels. Our line on both sides is average at best, and our RBs and WRs other than Terry have to be upgraded. It just makes me sick looking at how Philly nails all their picks and then look what dumb a$$ Ron did for years. :wall: But I have faith Peters will make great decisions in free agency and the draft

And I hope we see a different version of Lattimore next year. He was not worth the 3rd, 4th, and 6th round picks we gave up to get him. Looks like an awful trade right now :bag:

Great season fellas. We are heading the right direction. Getting back to the NFCC is a tough task. Lots of good teams ... PHI, DET, GB, MIN. But with JD5 we will be a solid team for a while. It was nice to finally have my kids put on their old WAS jerseys, get excited about this team and watch games with me. Other than the brief RG3 season, they haven't had a team worth cheering for. We need a lot of talent improvement to get back. We won a lot of close games. It would be nice to get depth on OL, figure out how to stop the run, get another CB, hope Latimore disaster is injury based, and get a RB that is worthy of more touches, see Sinnott be worthy of more TE time, and get another WR. I worry we are gonna lose Kingsbury to NO. I'd hate to see JD5 have to deal with another OC in year 2. Pay Kliff whatever he want to stay. Peters is the first GM i've trusted here since Casserly. So we have the right GM to figure it all out. Great having something positive to talk about after 30 years of ineptitude.

Last year we ended up 4-13.
Some of the players were quitting on the field during the end of the season.
Everyone knew the coaching staff was going to be gone along with many players.
It was a shameful season, an embarrassment.

We finally got a new owner.
In the offseason we got a new GM, a new HC, a new coaching staff, and turned over half the roster.
None of us knew while that was happening how well Quinn, the draft choices, the new coaching staff, the new free agents would work out.

This season we ended up 12-5.
We made the playoffs.
We beat Tampa and the seemingly-unbeatable Lions.
We lost in the NFC championship game to the Eagles.
We ended up 14-6.

We made incredible progress despite a barely-mediocre offensive line, a weak defensive line, and a questionable secondary.
I'm happy as hell with this season.
And the best part is that there are more seasons to come, and to justifiably be hopeful about.
Remember hope? Remember cheering (as opposed to dread)? They're back.

Correct me if I'm wrong on any of this because I don't intend to be.

Redskins 2024 draft
1 (2): QB Jayden Daniels, LSU (starter)
2 (36): DI Jer’Zhan (Johnny) Newton, Illinois (starter)
2 (50): CB Mike Sainristil, Michigan (starter)
2 (53): TE Ben Sinnott, Kansas State (part-time player)
3 (67): OT Brandon Coleman, TCU (starter)
3 (100): WR Luke McCaffrey, Rice (starter)
5 (139): LB Jordan Magee, Temple (part-time player)
5 (161): S Dominique Hampton, Washington (seldom plays)
7 (222): EDGE Javontae Jean-Baptiste, Notre Dame (part-time player)

6 picks in the first 3 rounds, yielding 5 starters and 1 part-time player, is a hell of a draft. Part of it is due to the dearth of talent on the roster from the year before, but part of it is because they were picks of talented players who took to coaching and worked hard.
I'd like to see a draft like that every year.

I was wrong in 2019 about seeing a good team again.

I've been a Skins fan since Sonny was throwing to Charley, been through misery and glory and misery again with them. Dan Snyder is younger than me, but I have 2 sons who are Redskin fans, and a 17-year-old grandson who's a fanatical Redskin fan. I will probably die before Snyder, but my kids and grandkids will outlive that mother ####### piece of #### worm and that's good enough for me. I won't see good Skins teams again, but those coming after me will.

Love and hate are deep emotions. Very ####### deep.

Grandson is now 21 and still a diehard fan. And my 18-y/o granddaughter texted me to celebrate after the wind over the Lions.
Lifers.
With a good team again.

This season was all about changing how your team was perceived, right? Get a non-insane power structure in place and start to build something positive At least, that was my expectation as a non-follower who lives in the area. They did that and more.

I think next year's team is going to be more talented and is very likely going to win less games (5 walk-off wins is hard to replicate unless you're KC).

The future is bright, y'all.

The NFC East’s schedule is much harder next year than it was this year.

From Finley “Zach Ertz says he’s not retiring and wants to keep playing, feels that he and Jayden Daniels are just “scratching the surface” of what they can do.”. Love it.
That's good news. In the latter part of the season Ertz played a pretty big part in keeping drives alive and/or scoring. He looks slow and awkward to me but he regularly gets open and catches the ball, and I guess most TE's look slow and awkward to me. I didn't think Sinnott would catch up to Tress Way's pass, for example.
I think Sinnott will improve a good bit next year btw.

Kliff Kingsbury is staying in Washington.

"Multiple reports Tuesday indicate Kingsbury will not interview with the Saints, who had shown interest in the former Cardinals’ head coach. He had decided to wait until the Commanders’ season finished to consider interviews with any interested teams, and Washington lost to the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game on Sunday. The Saints are the only team without a head coach, with the Bears, Cowboys, Patriots, Jaguars, Raiders and Jets having made a hire.

Kingsbury recently said he is “very happy” in Washington, with the Commanders’ job having helped him “kind of rekindle my love for the sport.”

The Cardinals are paying him through 2027, allowing Kingsbury to be selective in seeking a second NFL head coaching job."

Kliff staying is simply huge. There's nothing worse that a young QB having a new coach to deal with. It has derailed many a promising career. Bryce Young is ow on his 3rd coach/OC combo. Caleb already on his 3rd if you include an interim HC. Coaching consistency with the same QB matters so much in football. Reid with McNabb, Reid with Mahomes, Cowher with Big Ben, J Johnson with Aikman, Shula and Marino, Landry with Staubach, Bradshaw, Bellichick w Brady, McVay w Stafford. I'm sure many others.

Maybe you don't win a SB (see Jim Kelly), but you are almost always competitive and in the playoffs. The Payton/Nix and Quinn/Killf/Daniels combo already look like they fall into that level.

Changing OCs that often probably ruined Jason Campbell's career. Didn't he have like 5 OCs in his first 4 years?

I's fine. It was never going back to Redskins. The only option was going back to the Washington Football Team. Which I liked a lot and made t easier to bring back a modified Skins logo and some of the traditions. But winning is what matters. They could call them the Can't Jump Fat Rednexk Bald Guido Honkeys etc and insult me every way possible. I'd be fine with it as long as they win.

Commanders has grown on me as a name - I hated it at first but now I'll always associate it with good things like the NFCC and Jayden Daniels.

It’s not fine and you’re just accepting the terrible name because you have no choice.

It’s a brutally bad name.

While I prefer Redskins since I’m a get off my lawn kinda guy, I could live with the Commandrs if they brought back the old uniform/helmets/logos. Just being real I won’t buy a single shirt hat or jersey with the current stupid W logo. But I could see buying something again with the old logo

I saw this on the internet many times, but if they had kept the name Redskins and made the logo a potato, I'm pretty sure I would have bought some merch, despite not being a fan.

"“We have a massive opportunity,” Harris said, via ESPN. “None of us are taking that lightly.” Harris said Commanders General Manager Adam Peters and coach Dan Quinn will be the ones to decide how exactly they go about building that team, but Harris will support them making the moves it takes to win and win now.

“I don’t know how that translates to aggressiveness and free agency where Adam and Dan are hard at work and they’re going to advise me on that,” Harris said, “but certainly, we’re going to do everything we can to improve our team.” Harris said he embraces high expectations for 2025.

“We’ve arrived, and that changes expectations,” Harris said. “We welcome it and, we’re just going to work harder to create a situation where next year we win.”"
