Agreed. Set things in motion in some really interesting ways. I love how everything we see is put to the test. Dolores was an unreliable narrator last season. This season it's Bernard. We're seeing things but is it reality? Great stuff.

Oh and Tessa Thompson
I think she's pretty but seeing her in that dress was very unflattering

He’s got to know, he saw that he was failing or whatnot and injected himself with robot juice or whatever that was...  I do hope we get some explanation of that.

I get lesser Helmsworth and everyone not knowing he was a robot, they have no reason to believe otherwise. I don’t know how the robot detecting robot didn’t catch it though, so I hope they go into that a bit as well.
I was thinking his body really needed that juice from the other bot and kind of overrode his mind and made him shoot up.  Maybe he didn't even really realize what he was doing.

My thoughts are Bernard didn't realize he was a bot right after the massacre (trapped in the barn). He started realizing it when he was in the underground bunker and shot himself with the juice to fix himself. 11 days later, right now it is unclear if he remembers but it does seems he is putting the pieces together again.

What juice would be in a bot that would help a human heal? Seems like he had to have known at that time he was a bot and that's why he ran the test on himself and used the bot on the table to help him heal.

None.

My point was maybe some lower level function in his robot brain made him do all that without his awareness.  Life saving function.

I'm probably wrong and hes just hiding it but who knows with this show

Yeah it's definitely a guess but when he ran a test on his own "system" that had me thinking he knew. When he drained the bot and injected himself with the botjuice I figured he must know at that point.

I thought the first episode was good however it appears they are going with the loopy timelines and vague plot like last season.  It got kind of old last season trying to keep up with what was happening so a part of me is disappointed it's not going to be straight forward this time around.   I hate having to feel like I need to rewatch an episode because I missed something major.

I rewatched season 1 last week and finished the S1 finale about 20 minutes after S2 premier was launched (forgot S1 finale was 1:45).  I'm 100% sure Bernard knew/knows he's a robot.

I would think yes, Delores killing Arnold and the massacre 35 years later, assuming nonhuman beings can be guilty of crimes. In between, i'm not sure.

Also Simon from The Walking Dead shot a woman in the head outside the barn where Bernard, Hale and the others were hiding.

ETA - Bernard also killed at least two people doing Ford's bidding in Season 1.

weren't all the dead people laying everywhere throughout this episode dead because of the hosts? I thought GPJ was being sarcastic

So what is going on underground with Bernard and the hot chick?  What were those storm trooper things doing?  She said something about taking DNA from guests, but the body on the table was obviously a host.

Cloning maybe?

ETA - I thought there was something about Guest DNA mentioned in season 1 too.

We soooo not having that conversation right now.

So now some reddit honks think there are 2 or more bernards and one might be real?  Is this even slightly likely?

Last season, we were led to believe that we were watching the present day Bernard only to learn later that many scenes were a past Arnold. I think we have to question the who and when of every Bernard scene that we see this season.

So what we looking at here? 3? 4?

I think the interview Bernard was in the past (if I remember right, he had the same conversation with Dolores in S1).  The other stuff I'm fairly certain it's all the same Bernard.  Both when he's with the chick from the board and when he's with the ugly Hemsworth, he had the twitch going on with his hand.  Bernard stuff with the board chick is 2 weeks prior to the stuff with UglyHemsworth.

I read that as the host was taking the DNA samples of the guests and they were just taking the dna data from the host.

There's about 1,000 other shows on TV I can watch if I just want to turn my brain off and get spoon fed a generic story.  This show isn't one of them, re-watching an episode and picking out multiple things I didn't notice the first time is one aspect I absolutely love.

I get that and I am not saying its a bad show just that I hope they dont go to the same well of twists and turns and timelines etc as last season.  To me it would just get old.  I am still going to watch it regardless.

Most likely multiple timelines.... multiple Bernard/Arnolds?  Not sure.

For example, the first scene interview with Dolores -  are we assuming this is Arnold past or is it bot Bernard future?
At some point this multiple timeline thing is going to be too much to deal with.   They had the opportunity to merge the timelines at the end of S1 and just go with it.  I thought most of the producers indicated that that was how this season would be, a new linear timeline with none of this back and forth stuff.

Is it too much to ask to have a show that doesn't require 2 watchings a week and additional time spent sifting thru reddit to even be able to follow?

Based on Bernard's vision, it looks like there's another timeline possibly coming at some point this season besides the three shown in the first episode.
