Can someone explain tandem pitching to me like I am a 5 year old? Is it that one of the guys starts and the next guy comes in before the "relievers"

Now, how do you combine "normal" pitchers and tandem? God this rotation is going to be a pain. Wish I could do Nomo as a 1, two sets of As and Bs and then a tandem but doesnt seem possible to mix and match

you can't mix and match. You can only do one or the other.

my suggestion would be make a 4 (or 5) guy rotation and edit regularly.

user "rest" for the guys you don't want played.

This is going to sound stupid, but this is the first time I already have paid teams ready to go. How does one enter your team in without going through the pay screen?

Yeah, that's likely what I will have to do. Only one guy needs to be a tandem and I can rotate the other three in an out.

There is a link at the top of your roster that says "edit league option"

Click that, then go down to the bottom of the page and enter the league # in the little textbox.

OK, I tweaked the rankings a bit to remove some of the effects of drafting below average hitters. I didn't want to remove the effects completely because we do have a cap, so drafting a below average guy should hurt a little bit.

These rankings reflect the best possible value for each player, so Oso's team won't be this good if he doesn't use '94 Maddux.

Theoretically, the pitching ratings are a lot lower than the hitting ranks, so I doubled the pitch ranks in the final total. There are a lot more negative hitters than pitchers, which is why it doesn't come out double in the end, but I have Maddux at +47, Big Mac at +117, and I'd still rather have Maddux.

And as we discovered last time, I'm always going to do well in my own rankings since I am using them to draft my team.

Bogart 83 129 -23
How is it that I suck at this so bad? I actually thought I had a good idea going into this one.
Well, if your bad pitchers who keep the ball in the park do better than I expect, then you'll be fine. But my ratings are expecting your pitchers to be really, really bad. Robinson and Witt are about -15 runs below average, which is about as bad as any pitcher drafted. Doherty is -10, Hersh, Dejesus and Boever are all about -5. Only Rojas rates as a positive.

Maybe I'm way off here. But here's a comparison:

Pitcher Pick Owner IP ERC# Runs Saved

Mel Rojas 226 Bogart 101 1.98 11.24
Charles Nagy 273 Bogart 252 2.98 -0.42

Chris Nabholz 343 Bogart 155 3.05 -1.33
Ken Hill 244 Bogart 218 3.04 -2.28
Joe Boever 391 Bogart 112 3.37 -4.90
Orel Hershiser 321 Bogart 112 3.4 -5.26
Jose Dejesus 419 Bogart 130 3.31 -5.39
John Doherty 453 Bogart 116 3.71 -9.51
Bobby Witt 480 Bogart 222 3.54 -14.41
Ron Robinson 296 Bogart 180 3.79 -16.42

I did my draft in a "spring" league, not "full". Now I have to reenter.

Figured it out.

Then again ... submitting a ticket certainly can't hurt. I can't seem to find an explanation in the WIS forums or in my WIS SiteMail.

The league setting 'live quick start' is set to yes, which delays the schedule do we can sim live. Change that and restart the league. (Wis support will have to do it)

So, yeah, my pitching is going to suck. Now the only question is whether or not fatigue comes into play as well.

Pitching fatigue is wacky the first week or so right? Seems wackier than usual but I could just be misremembering /Clemens
