Official World Cup 2010 Fantasy League (1 Viewer)

I do not think I will be here at 7 PM tomorrow, but I'll be back by 8 or 9. Regardless, waivers will work as follows:

EVERY team must post in this thread its cuts before 7 PM. If your cuts are not in by 7 PM, your team will automatically release its low-scoring player at the requisite position.

Waiver will go worst-to-first, NON-serpentine, per Boub's scoring totals. The timer will be 20 minutes per pick. I will be around for most of the evening around 8 PM ET or so, so I can handle things then. We will re-evaluate where we are around 11 PM.

If worst comes to worst, we will have a free-for-all pick period early on Saturday morning - first game is at 10 AM, right?

I'll get my cuts in, but I may not be back home by 8pm tonight. Can I send you a list of choices for the DF and MF I'll need to select? I can prioritize positions and players.

What I have right now....

I will try and check over things again and if any of you see any issues, post your scores and I will cross check it. Kupcho, it seems that the Webo to Eto'o pass for the goal against Denmark isn't an assist anymore on FIFA when I swear it was before. Just letting you know.

Please PM your cut list to several players, not just me. There's a good chance I will not be here by the start of the "mini-draft" tonight.

Steve Tasker Roster Moves

Active roster, knockout round:

GK - Fernando Muslera, Uruguay

DF - Carlos Salcido, Mexico

DF - Paulo da Silva, Paraguay

DF - open slot

DF - open slot

MF - Wesley Sneijder, Netherlands

MF - Bastian Schweinsteiger, Germany

MF - Park Ji-Sung, South Korea

MF - open slot

ST - Diego Forlan, Uruguay (one of these 3 will be released)

ST - Jozy Altidore, United States (one of these 3 will be released)

ST - Alexander Frei, Switzerland (one of these 3 will be released)

Active player cuts (players entering the free agent pool:

none

Players who have been eliminated:

GK - Boubacar Barry, Ivory Coast

DF - Bacary Sagna, France

DF - Daniel Agger, Denmark

DF - Kolo Toure, Ivory Coast

DF - Lucas Neill, Australia

MF - Steven Pienaar, South Africa

MF - Alexandre Song, Cameroon

MF - Lukman Haruna, Nigeria

ST - Nicolas Anelka, France

Pending the result of Switzerland's game this afternoon, I will need to release a striker. In the event that Switzerland are eliminated, Frei will be released. Should Switzerland qualify for the next round, I will make my decision and either post it here or text Boub/Derek

Pretty straight-forward moves for me...

I am going to be watching the Spain game on tape delay after work....But I have a question...

Lets say I have enough to have an active roster right now after the group stages 4-4-2.

I wanna see what I will have available once my turn comes up in the mini draft. Can I do that or do I have to cut now and pretty much set myself for the draft??

You have to have the cuts in before 7 PM so that everyone knows who is available.

Active Roster for the Knockout Stages:

Tim Howard

Martin Skrtel

Arturo Vidal

Denis Caniza

Steven Gerrard

Elano

Luis Fabiano

Dirk Kuyt

IF Chile doesnt advance, then I gotta cut Vidal as well and pick 4 guys. If they make it, then I only have to pick a DF and 2 MF'ers

So I am cutting:

Guillermo Ochoa

Nemanja Vidic

Stephane Mbia

Andre Ooijer

Tim Cahill

Kalu Uche

Yaya Toure

Robert Koren

Cacau

Niklas Bendtner

Actually, I think if Chile doesnt advance I have to keep Ooijer (Netherlands) and still pick 1 DF and 2 MF'ers

I don't have anyone in the last group so I will make this easy on everyone. I will keep all of my players who are still left. I will cut everyone else.

That leaves 1 open DF and 1 open MF. Don't bother looking at my team for guys to pick up, the rest are eliminated.

I'm going to drop GK Villar (Paraguay). Basically a coin flip. Portugal hasn't given up a goal, but will face a likely tougher opponent first game. Paraguay will likely get by Japan but the whole side of that bracket is brutal. Coin flip.

I won't list the rest of the "drops" since they are on eliminated teams. Can other teams do this as well? It will make sorting through available players easier.

I need 1 DF and 1 MF assuming Chile moves on. If they don't I'll need 2DF, 1 MF and 1 ST.

Who (in addition to Tasker) should I PM a FA list to? I will not be home until 9 or 10 tonight probably.

I know it was there, I had it as well. I guess we'll just see if it makes a reappearance.

Unfortunately, this is bad timing for me this evening, so I am going to dance wit the girls who brung me this far(no pick-ups):

DF - Efrain Juarez, Mexico

MF - Daniele de Rossi, Italy

MF - Nenad Milijas, Serbia

ST - Katlego Mphela, South Africa

ST - Roque Santa Cruz, Paraguay

holds:

GK - Manuel Neuer, Germany

DF - Maicon, Brazil

DF - John Terry, England

DF - Holger Badstuber, Germany

DF - Carlos Bocanegra, United States

MF - Ramires, Brazil

MF - Andres Iniesta, Spain

MF - Joe Cole, England

MF - Felipe Melo, Brazil

ST - Diego Milito, Argentina

ST - Thomas Muller, Germany

I'll be very weak after Germany-England

Good luck everyone. This has been fun so far and thanks to the organizers.

I'll post my moves when these final games are over, still have a couple decisions to make dependent on the outcomes. I will be around tonight most of the time if someone needs another person to hold onto their list

there are some players there i might like...i don't have scoring though so i don't know who the 2 lowest are. boubacarow?

I also need a ST, as I've cut both Vela and Suarez, who are now on the waiver wire.
are they both injured? good players.
Vela is hurt and didn't play against Uruguay. Suarez played 45 minutes in 3 games, and didn't take the field against Spain. Neither has looked very good this tournament, and I need players that are clicking on all cylinders if I'm going to make up this huge gap.I still think I have very good players on my team and had a good draft. None of them stepped up though, and some players that I thought would start haven't seen much of the field (David Silva, Piotr Trochowski, Shunsuke Nakamura, and Antonio Di Natale). It's a tough thing to predict for some teams.
