I tried to get the word out, posted that people should join in the Wagering Thread, GM's Thread, the Michael Sam thread, and some random thread in the Assistant Coach's Forum.

thanks?

Ended up with Portugal v Argentina in the final

jfc if that happens

eta: now I need to go trim a few goals...don't think there are going to be 203 scored

Took Greece down to -0- goals....#### Greece
I ended up with Argentina and France, ouch...

A LOT of really difficult decisions in the knockout rounds, and I expect to modify this in the coming month.

Spreadsheet issue (fixed): The last game of round 2, away team; the extra time/penalty win flag isn't working properly. I have updated the sheet on the onedrive, to fix it. If you don't have the away team winning the decision on penalties it won't affect the rest of the sheet, so no need to resubmit.

Updated files are here: link (and the link in the OP is updated as well)

Or send me an email (charvik@gmail.com) and I'll send them to you.

Embrace it. That's my final. I've been perusing France's likely roster. No real weaknesses, except for maybe the right flank. So while Evra could easily murder Deschamps leading France to going out in the group stage, they can also beat anyone. Also interesting to see if they cross their fingers and take Nasri.

I got 2.2 goals per game for the tourney. #Ligue1
The lowest ever recorded was 2.21 in Italy 1990. It was so abominable that the tectonic plate known as Fifa actually had to make a couple of rule changes.

If memory serves, no playing back to the keepers hands and "even is onside" both came during the cycle after Wc1990

I think I am out. I am having no luck opening this either on my ipad or my windows 8 desktop.

I don't have excel on either which is likely the main issue.

:lmao:

just opened the spreadsheet for the first time... this thing is silly cool.

holy crap Charv, this is amazing.

Just got payment from Tom Hagen as well...

just to re-iterate... don't mention anything in the message about World Cup pool...

just use WC_{fbgusername}

Let me know if I need to do some more x-thread advertising. "Lies about Hitler", "Loaning a chick money", and "Dynasty: QB Mike Glennon, Tampa Bay Bucs" in the Pool may not know about this yet.

Don't we have a month? Are you guys filling this out now and turning it in or just paying Charv?

Truck is my go to soccer source, but he's playing, so I'm probably SOL here.

I'll probably change it, but in one group I have two teams with the same record and same number of goals and same goal differential tied for second in the group. If that actually happened, how do they break the tie? Flip a coin?

I paid, but figure I'll take my sweet ### time filling it out. Still trying to get my hands on an octopus to help me pick the winner of each match.

I just looked it up. In my hypothetical results, it would be a coin flip (or some other random method): http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2010/soccer/world-cup-2010/writers/georgina_turner/06/16/fifa.regulations/

"if the points are the same, and both goal difference and scored goals are the same, they resort to how the two or more tied teams fared only in their games against each other. And if all else fails, the order will be drawn from a hat"

Yeah, that was an odd tiebreaker, and one I didn't feel like spending time adjusting for in the spreadsheet, as it would be a lot of work, for a small chance. The group teams already default rank on the FIFA ranking, and I was hoping we wouldn't run into it...
