Karate Champ
<br /><br />Forward flip and reverse round kick every time.<br />
<br /><br />Seriously. That move was awesome. <img src="http://forumimages.footballguys.com/style_emoticons/default/nerd.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":nerd:" border="0" alt="nerd.gif" /> And the sound effects were great. You'd land that kick upside the haid of your opponent and it was lights OUT!
Sounded like someone snapping a 2x4 in half.

1. Wrestlefest - Earthquake and Sgt. Slaughter. Awesome!!

2. NBA Jam - great 4 player game.

3. Double Dragon

4. NFL Blitz

5. Rampage
Wrestlefest, was that the game with the white joysticks?I remember playing tag-team mode with a buddy at 7-11, I was Ultimate Warrior, he was Macho Man. That d-bag, never tagged me in and he got pinned within 2 minutes. I was pissed.

In no particular order:

NFL Blitz - i played tournaments at the local Putt-Putt

All the Soul Caliber games + Mace: The Dark Age (playing as Pogo the chicken rocked)

Double Dragon

Golden Axe

Dungeons & Dragons "Sticks to Snakes!"

honorable mention:

Area 51

Street Fighter II - I remember putting up your quarter in line with 3-4 other people's at the bottom of the screen to hold your place "in line"

Mortal Kombat II (they got stupid after II)
I play this every year with my cousin in Michigan. We go up there in mid July for a week and 1 night we go to this mini golf/arcade/go kart deal and have a huge putt putt tourney and before we go out to play crash up derby with the karts my cousin and I drop about $20 in this machine. Still great...

Oldest video game I remember playing in the arcade was Blue Print

Zaxxon

Super Off Road

Some generic wrestling game with fake Snuka, Andre the Giant, etc.

Raiden II

Ikari Warriors

ETA: I'm more of a pinball guy at the arcade

Arrgh. I think we may be talking about the same game. What is the name of that thing. Probably came out in 1985, you were just a generic looking wrestler in blue trunks. Nothing graphics, but a lot of fun. One...two....threeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! Grr. This is going to drive me nuts.

Has to be Mat Mania.

A couple of others I haven't seen mentioned yet that I spent a lot of time playing: Moon Patrol and Frogger

Mat Mania may be the one Hugh is referring to, but it's not mine.

forgot about Super Dodgeball. Played that one a lot.

For pinball, Fishtales was easily the best.

Adams Family may have made the top 10. maybe.

I knew Adams Family. Adams Family was a friend of mine. Fish Tales, you're no Adams Family.

I've heard that. Someone posted on here how they built one of these. Bought a generic cabinet and generic controls and had a bunch of games installed...That would be pretty sweet....I need a bigger basement first....

Ms. Pacman

Foodfight

Track and Field

Some racing game, can't remember the name. The machine was a standup, and there were three (maybe 4?) steering wheels on the front.

Some football game (tabletop) where the controller was shaped like a little football, and you can "steer" the passes while in midair. Quite comical.

This is tough. No particular order.

Monaco GP - the little stand up version. HI-LO shifter, mini steering wheel, extra car every 2000 points... Really great game. Used to play it while my Dad bowled. Wish I had one of these.

Pac-man - Classic

Elevator Action - Great game, very challenging. Beyond level 4/5 very tough.

Rastan - Had this game in the commons in my freshman year in college. Played this a ton. Could beat it on 1 quarter.

Donkey Kong - 3rd springboard/elevator board was always tough for me. Once you get past that 100,000 is no problem.

Honorable Mention:

Baby Pac-man - Pinball and arcade mix. Hard as hell, loved this game.

Super Basketball - By Konami, you'd put your initials in first and then play against High School, College, etc. Always on Offense with timer to score. Making baskets added to your time. "Nice Shot!", "Bravo bravo bravo bravo bravo"

Mr. Do! - Always liked this game. Get the Diamond for a free game!

No, that's not it. These were like indy cars, and each one was a different color. Red, blue, green, and yellow maybe. On each track, there would be obstacles, like walls opening up at certain intervals, etc...
