OK, top 5 favorite Arcade Games (1 Viewer)

Street Fighter 2

Heavy Barrel

Double Dragon

I can think of a few more but don't know which would make my top 5. These 3 were far and away my favorites. I shudder to think how much money I've spent on them, probably could have paid for my first car.

Ms. Pacman

Foodfight

Track and Field

[some racing game, can't remember the name. The machine was a standup, and there were three (maybe 4?) steering wheels on the front.

Some football game (tabletop) where the controller was shaped like a little football, and you can "steer" the passes while in midair. Quite comical.
Ivan "Ironman" Stewart's Super Off Road? Off Road wiki
No, that's not it. These were like indy cars, and each one was a different color. Red, blue, green, and yellow maybe. On each track, there would be obstacles, like walls opening up at certain intervals, etc...
Did a google search. "Super Sprint" was the name. Many quarters in that game for me.

Champion Wrestler was the one I was thinking of.
Huh, I don't think I ever saw that, but that's a cool site for info.Do any of you guys know anything about MAME? Supposedly you can emulate play a lot of these games on your PC..I had one a long time ago for old Nintendo games (Nesticle), but didn't know you could do it for old arcade games which I'm much more interested in. Does anyone know where to get the games?

Xenophobe

Rampage

Fatal Fury 3 (honorable mention to SF2, which this game owes some credit to, but the ability to move between background/foreground was a nice touch to dodge cheap shots)

NBA Jam

Metal Slug (any of 'em)

I loved Off Road in college. That and the wrestling game with Hulk Hogan, Ultimate Warrior, etc...

What was the Off-road racing game they had where you sat and drove and not only did you race, but you fired at the other buggies, and when you got hit, there was this click/thump in the back of the seat indicating you'd been shot? Anyone recall? That was a great game.

That nascar game they have now in your bigger establishments (Dave & Busters et al) where like 6 people each sit down in a car and a big screen is in front of you, and you all race eachother is pretty kick *** too.

There's a thread somewhere about building your own machine. I know Corporation recently built his own. I've got the comp and control, but haven't built a cabinet yet. It's fun.
Yep this was a fun thing to do. Here's the thread in question and how mine turned out.Link
I saved the link. I will look into that at some point. I think that would be the ultimate edition to the adult play room (big screen, poker table, pool table, gigantic fish tank, bar, sports and movie memorabilia, etc).

I have the MAME mod chip in my regular XBOX. Playing Defender on a 61" screen is pretty cool, but I find myself playing Rampart and Pengo over and over. This particular mod also has all NES, SNES and N64 games.

I am pretty sure pinball is the only stand up arcade game I ever played. Maybe a deer hunting game, but I can't remember if I played that or just watched...

What was the name of the arcade game where you had to catch the sliding mugs of beer before they fell on the floor? Was it Kegger? That was cool.

Ms. Pac Man

Donkey Kong

Gorf

Burger Time

Tetris

I've got two stand up arcade machines in my basement. Haven't played either in a while but it's a Pac-Man and Dr. Mario (in an original red DK cabinet). I'm planning on converting it back to a Donkey Kong some day but the PCB board and all the artwork are $$$.

1. Elevator Action

2. Bump 'N Jump

3. Donkey Kong, Jr.

4. Moon Patrol

5. NFL Blitz

It was really tough filling that last spot, but I feel pretty solid about the top 3. If something else comes to me I might change the bottom.

There always seemed to be an awesome game in my grandparents' restaurant when I was growing up. Pengo, Roc, and Mario Bros. are the ones I recall the best. GB just taking quarters right out of the till whenever we wanted.

Sea Wolf.....whoa...that's old school bro.
I still remember my old man holding me up so that I could look through the scope. At the time I thought Sea Wolf was the coolest thing around.
I think they still have a working Sea Wolf at one of the arcades in Avalon on Catalina Island. Used to love that game.
