Is Leftwich starting speculation, or has this been stated by the Falcons?
He's practicing and Petrino says he's the starter when healthy. Not officially starting yet, but it's likely.
he even said = per rotoworld - that leftwich was number one on the depth chart, so thats a pretty clear sign
SHOCKED HARRINGTON OUT, LEFTWICH IN AS FALCONS QB

Leftwich named starter, but Harrington surprised by Falcons' decision

FLOWERY BRANCH, Ga. -- Even though Joey Harrington led Atlanta to two straight victories, Byron Leftwich remains the No. 1 quarterback for the Falcons.

Coach Bobby Petrino made it clear Wednesday that Leftwich will reclaim the starting spot as soon as he's healthy -- a stand that caught Harrington off guard.

Kind of a confusing story because the headline indicates that Leftwich will start this week, but the body of the story says "Petrino isn't sure if Leftwich will be healthy enough to play Sunday".

Leftwich will start, he's been practicing. I really thought this was official, but I can't find a link.

Interesting matchup for Garrad. You have the Chargers defense which has been living off interceptions the last few weeks against a QB who doesn't throw picks. SD supposedly has moved Cromartie back to the nickelback so we'll if that changes anything.

Got another to add to the list: Dilfer starting for San Francisco.

That's 9 QB changes in the past week:

Grossman

Croyle

Losman

Beck

Boller

Garrard

Culpepper

Leftwich

Dilfer

Need to correct myself here. Appears I mis-heard or mis-read a report somewhere, and Lefty starting is not a given. Looks promising, and we'll probably know today.Falcons quarterback Byron Leftwich suffered no setbacks from his ankle surgery and appears set to take over the starting quarterback spot.

"I was happy with the report I got this morning from the trainer that there wasn't any increased swelling or stiffness after yesterday's practice," Falcons coach Bobby Petrino said Thursday. "Again, we have to see what tonight brings and what [Friday] brings because it's really the first time that he's worked real hard on it for two days in a row for three weeks."
