Open Secrets in your field (2 Viewers)

No need for them to attack every post I make

the problem is the mods not enforcing the rules. They need to ban people for the constant personal attacks on me or others

onpy an unintelligent person would side with them and blame me. You are no better and also contributing to derailing good threads
No malice intended, but you've already #### on a good topic here. If you want to interact and get attention, stop doing it in a way that invites abuse. Your posting style is an open invitation to others to pile on and give you the business, because you always resort to an antagonistic style when you're ignored. It's a negative feedback loop you are stuck in.

my advice to you is to delete your posts in this thread, give some serious consideration to why you resort to acting like a kid who will misbehave to get any kind of attention (even negative attention) take a deep breath, go for a walk outside and hit the mental reset button. Come back and try again.

seriously, GB, just trying to hold a mirror up for you, so you can see your actions clearly and make a good decision. I wish you the best, no schtick.

I posted in accordance with the thread.

use your eyes and go back

is everyone here incapable of seeing the truth? Is everyone brain damaged?

My dad had a saying. If one person calls you an #######, you're ok. If several people call you and #######, you're an #######.
The majority is never right. The majority is of average intelligence at best.

i never antagonized anyone and I'm not going to change just for a few jerks as a matter of principle

if they keep attacking me I will respond and they are responsible for derailing threads because they are unable to act like adults

thats the bottom line and the truth

not that I would be left alone even if I tried to change so it would be pointless

the mods should be doing their job and curtailing the constant personal attacks when I try to post normally

:lmao:      You're acting like the younger child crying to mommy, "but they started it."

really weird trick for curtailing personal attacks online:

douse computer in gasoline

light match

drop match on computer

try it and report back

Like I tried to tell you two or three aliases ago, if all you you day in and day out is run into ####### after #######, perhaps the problem isn't everybody else. HTH

@RokNRole Over 5 pages and about a dozen posts and no one made a snide remark to you. You stayed on topic and eveything was fine. But then you posted this:

I don't have to do research for anyone or exercise logic for them.

you can believe the world isn't corrupt if you wish but asking for proof, which would require providing an almost endless amount of data which would likely only fall on the deaf ears of those unable to dig their heads out of the sand, comes across as foolish

the truth is out there if you want to find it

Perhaps you should look in that mirror.

Ya I have no idea who this guy Rick Roll is but to be sure he is the problem

rickrole > if I were a mod you would be banned. My main rule is it's ok to be annoying once in a while, but if it's every post and you've been called out on it every other post, and still continue.... have a great season somewhere else

First post wasn't snide. I was responding to someone asking for proof of an ongoing conspiracy

the second was a response to an attack

are you blind or another antagonizer?

Classic victim blaming

were you a bully in HS like the rest of the goon squad?

RokNRole, this is good advice. I've read only the last 25 posts or so in this thread, so I don't know who started what way back when -- but it's clear that you're currently derailing the thread. Take a break and come back tomorrow.

I'm not a mathematician, myself, but I have friends who are and I do have my masters in math. The related industry "secret", in my opinion, is that your average citizen has no clue what mathematicians do all day. Some folks assume that mathematicians must be able to do tremendous calculations in their head and with ease, some think they're accountants and experts in tax law. But in reality, aside from teaching as university professors, mathematicians actually create new mathematics. That's what they are working on most of their working lives. And as with writing a novel or making new music, it is not easy to create something brand new. They're experimenting, playing with whatever mathematical constructs are relevant in their field (very likely NOT manipulating numbers but more likely functions or operators or some other objects), trying to find patterns, establish new truths and ultimately prove them. And one other little known fact--more new math has been created over the past fifty years than had been created in all of human history prior. In high school and college, though, we typically only get to learn the old timey math like Euclid's Geometry, algebra or calculus. It's got to be one of the most misunderstood professions and I'll add that mathematicians know how to party.

Huh. That is genuinely interesting, I had no idea.

Did I just stumble into the Nap thread?

Nice try, nerd.

Well any "New Math" I have ever encountered throughout my entire life has been some pretty ####ed up ####.

A gallon of paint might not be a gallon of paint anymore.

Not uncommon to see 3.46 litres or 118oz on the side of the can these days instead of 1 gallon.

That seems to be a common practice in the food industry. They keep the packaging roughly the same size so it appears the same on the store shelf, but they reduce the contents inside. I used to work for Kraft Foods and what used to be a 500ml bottle of salad dressing is now a 475 ml bottle. The price stays the same, but Kraft reduces their costs.

Kraft also put Best Before dates on everything. They are really deadline dates when the products will no longer be at their optimal freshness. Their hope is consumers will see these dates and treat them like the dates on milk. If it is past the Best Before date, throw it out and buy a new one.

How many days past the "best by" date can you safely go without getting smaller belly ache or syphilis or something?

In many countries that is legally required.

Depends on the product.

Although odds on getting syphilis from food apparently are low

As msommer said, it depends on the product. The key takeaway is that on products like peanut butter, salad dressing, Kraft Dinner, etc. the dates don't have to be regarded as Best Before dates are on milk. They are,as you have stated, Best  By dates. In Canada, at least, Kraft still puts "Best Before" on their products.

In Canada, most products state "Best By" date or "Best if used by" dates. Kraft states "Best Before" dates in hopes that consumers will treat them like dairy products and throw them out once it is past this date and buy a new one.

They use "Best Before" in hopes that consumers will remember getting a mouthful of spoiled milk or the smell of it and not want to take a chance that the product is still good.

I cant prove it, but I would bet Sherwin williams Everclean and Dutch Boy Duraclean are the exact same paint.
My brother used to work at a Barber's milk distribution facility.  Barber's and the house brand milk are exactly the same stuff, just different labels.

I figured this was obvious, but if not there ya go.

Was she there?  If so I'll pull back the  :penalty:
I'd certainly welcome Danica McKellar (aka Winnie from the Wonder Years) to any party. She can do all kinds of tricks with algebra which is a huge turn-on. But I was thinking more along the lines of the jovial John Von Neumann who could rock a martini like nobody's business and hosted blowout parties with the likes of Einstein, Godel, and, yes, Norbert Weiner.

Our local Wendy's has a self-serve machine that has all kinds of ginger ale - and lets you add vanilla, raspberry, cherry and a flavor or two I can't remember.  The vanilla ginger ale is pretty good.
Those machines are awful.  Everything tastes like root beer to me.  The guy who created Segways is responsible for them.  If they were a rope stand, I'd kick every one of them over.

"[He] was an aggressive and apparently reckless driver. He supposedly totaled a car every year or so." There was an intersection at Princeton nicknamed "Von Neumann Corner" for all the accidents he had there.

Definitely sounds like a drunk.

Powdered Comet cleanser and the generic brand of powdered bleach cleanser that you see in a similar looking can is the exact same stuff, being filled from the same place.
