This is Otis we're talking about and, love him or hate him, he's a pretty classy dude. I'm quite certain that it's an extra-thick single malt milkshake.

A medium frosty at Wendy's is about 400 calories and has calcium, protein, and not a ton of fat. The sugar content isn't great and there's not much for nutrients but you could do a lot worse as a snack.

Four day golf tournament beginning tomorrow. With pairings dinners, scotch and cigar bars, catering on the course, and copious amounts of beer, I don't think I'm getting there this week.

brotis and brzow i hope you guys make some changes and take the weight off you guys probably are stressed out all the time with your laywer jobs and between that and the weight you are putting your selfs at risk for bad health stuff and you have wifes and are trying to or you already have kids and heck just get it right for your families do not take the crap you get here to heart just fn stop eating crap get on a stairmaster use myfitnesspal ap and get it done you guys can do it take that to the bank

You know lots of shtick posts about how this was a failure. Well not really. Otis is a tremendous ####### failure, sure. Truly all talk no results. Just emasculating.

But Woz? He's seen progress. He's on the right track long term. Good for him. Sure he didn't really accomplish the goal set in the beginning but at least he tried, and truly accomplished something.

Woz is like the Vikes. Didn't win the championship but made progress. Can feel good about many aspects of the process. Otis is like Cleveland. Rudderless, no future, bloated with unfulfilled commitments and a ton of empty promise.

Geez, i already lost 25 pounds, kept it off for a month, and got fat again during the span of this thread. Today is day one in beating these two for a second time.

I started dieting last March or April or whatever. Was already 15 lbs down when this bet impulsively came about.

I started dieting last March or April or whatever. Was already 15 lbs down when this bet impulsively came about.
So do what you were doing that got you down 15 lbs. not saying to be unhealthy and drop it all at once, but keep your good habits and stop caving. It's hard to say I'm not drinking beer, but I did it for over 9 months. I now have an occasional beer, but I don't make excuses TO have one.

I'm not advocating to never eat or drink, but show some will power.

Until this changes I don't think you will be able to attain your goals. Using special events can be a good motivator, but when they are too frequent and can last a weekend (plus) then you'll constantly spin in circles. When you factor in the issues making time to exercise and bad dietary habits you've displayed throughout it makes it impossible.

You need to change something if you really want to lose weight and it needs to be permanent. Otherwise...


Also I've been down 15 lbs like five times. It's keeping it there for the week where I fail.
...this will continue to happen and you won't get anywhere. Everybody has a different breaking point, but after so many times of failure eventually most people give up until a medical issue forces their hand. Don't be that guy.

 
Thinking hard about firing up a modified Bale starting Monday.

It will look something like this:

Breakfast: coffee

Lunch/throughout the workday: 1-2 apples, coffee, water. Tempted to mix in one of these protein bars instead of an apple some days, if only because I keep a case of them in my desk, they're easy and quick, and it's my typical lunch these days anyway.

Dinner: Piece of meat and a green vegetable. The canned tuna is really tough to pull off for any extended period. I asked Mrs. O if I could eat salmon and broccoli for dinner every night, but she told me the mercury would probably kill me. She's got a thing about mercury. So, I'll alternate between salmon or a chicken breast, maybe canned tuna on occasion, or sashimi some nights, paired with broccoli or brussel sprouts.

Debating whether I allow a Coors Light as well after dinner.

That should keep me well south of 1k calories a day.

Rinse, repeat until not a fay guy anymore.

I am starting a modified Bale as well.

Mine looks like: Eat less, Work out more.

I am still tinkering with it but this is what I have so far.

 
Two days without booze plus a stomach virus the last three days. Is that considered modified bale? I did have some thin mints.
