Otis fad diet thread — yoga, fasting, and kevzilla walking on🚶‍♂️ (1 Viewer)

Being sick with a crazy head cold and ear infection (who knew adults still get those  :loco: ) no exercise for me.  But being the whole house was sick, we didn't go to the super bowl party last night where there is normally more food there then a Chinese buffet. So I was able to stay at least under 200#

199.2.

Heres to a better week.

@sand

Feb 6 2017 weight:  204 pounds

Last week:  204.2 pounds

Initial weight:  209.6

Weight lost last week:  0.2 pounds

Weight lost total 5.6 pounds

Today is going to be a rough weigh-in for many of us.  I had a great week of working out and eating right.  I weighed myself Sat and Sun morning and was down about 1.5 pounds from the previous week's weigh in.  I was on a mission last night to rid the world of all food.  Time to get back in the saddle and focus.  Good luck everyone.

I'm getting after it now.  Vacation over. SB over.  Actually didn't do too badly for the SB.  Maybe 7 beers, some great brisket from the smoker, 1 hot dog.  I've done far worse.

354.2! Survived the RR and SB weekends with a (albeit minimal) 2-week net loss. That's a win imo.

Time to get those ketones flowing again. Game on chumps!

Ok, let's see what this deep fried super bowl party does...

Sunday morning- 271.4   -2.4

@Sand
This is awesome.  I find it mostly depressing because I started in the same place and probably have made barely any progress.  I would kill to be at 212.  Nice work man.

I'm away from home for too long.  I will get home Saturday.  I'm sure I gave up ground in the past 10 days.  Which is depressing.  But it is what it is.  I get home Saturday and plan to kick it into high gear.  I'd like to feel like a young and fit man come June.  There's still time.

I'll be honest - half the time I'm not sure you care but assuming you do then your post hits home and is (so far) why I'm doing so well.  I'm not on a diet, I got to the point with my eating (and drinking) that I knew I was taking years off my life.  I knew I was eating and drinking #### on a daily basis and it was literally killing me.  I just had to decide what was most important - see my kids and grandkids grow up or eating cheeseburgers and fries with a soda.

I'd be lying if I said it's easy - it's not.  But it's also not something I'm having to give a lot of thought to - "I don't eat this any more, that #### will kill me" is a strong motivator for me now.  Maybe when I reach my goals it won't be, not sure.  Don't worry about kicking it in to high gear - find the gear that works for you each and every day.

Net 1850 calorie deficit per day.  That's impressive discipline.
I'll take everybody's word for what I'm doing each day as I'm not keeping track of anything - I really don't know how other than I'm not eating sugar, flour, bread, potatoes, anything processed, no calories from beverages (basically 98% water this year), very little fried foods. What I'm eating: fruit sparingly (blueberries, blackberries and the very rare banana), vegetables,  meat, salads, eggs.  I have not had one cheat meal since 1/1 - I made homemade guacamole and fried some chicken tenders with coconut oil (not that bad tasting).

The only thing that I'm doing that I would call unconventional is my wife has this home drink that I appease her by drinking occasionally- basically, apple cider vinegar and ginger - supposed to help digestion??

This will have to slow down - maybe this week, but my mindset is different now.  I want to be healthy, not just skinny.  I was to have energy.  I think I may break my no exercise rule and go lift some weights tonight.

If your math is right and he is not exercising, if his BMR is 2500 calories a day that means hes eating 650 calories a day, which hes not. I still dont understand how its possible.
I'm only guessing but I figure I'm eating 1500 +/- 200 per day.  I'm definitely not starving myself.  As for exercise, I'll have to look but while I'm not exercising I am averaging about 8-10k steps a day and I spend a lot of time just moving around.  I was very sedentary the previous year.

Im beginning to think you guys don't believe me.   :D   Honestly - I really don't care if I win.  I'll go ahead and say it - I was going to pick Chance for Life is I "win" - I'm happy to donate to any good cause and I hope we all lose 20% each.  I just want to be healthy and not get diabetes

Isn't it 2000 cal in a lb so if need 856 deficit a day to lose 3?  Or is that from the beginning?  I'll be honest - i probably gained 10 lbs over the week between Xmas and New Years and probably #### most of it out the first week.

Not saying youre lying whatsoever and I hope you didnt take my post to mean that. Im just trying to figure out how its possible mathematically. If 3500 calories = 1 lbs, you essentially took in 88,500 (25.3 * 3500) calories less than you burned over 37 days. That means you were in a 2391 calorie DEFICIT every single day.

If you are eating appx 1500 calories a day that means your BMR is a whopping 3891 a day!

Mine is like 2500

What is BMR?  I doubt I'm out of the ordinary.  I will say I've always lost AND put on weight easily.  I would be like BnB and put on 5-7 lbs if I had a cheat day/weekend right now I'm guessing.  I have no clue how it's working and no, I didn't think you were saying I'm lying - no real point to lie and that's why I was one who wanted it to be charity.  Maybe the good karma from that is helping :)

Heres my typical day the last 5-6 weeks.

Breakfast - black coffee, eggs, bacon (1-2 times a week no breakfast)

Lunch - chicken and broccoli or a salad with grilled chicken and veggies (NEVER skip lunch)

Dinner - some meat and veggies, soup sometimes

No snacks, no alcohol, lots of water, lots of walking

the walking is definitely helping you. I didnt account for that in my calculation.

Sorry to everyone for so many posts.

Shady - one thing I've thought of that has been very unusual while I've been losing.  Normally, I'm always hot, like I could where shorts most of the year.  Never more than a long-sleeve t-shirt at home.  Since I've change my diet I've been ####ing freezing ALL the time.  I have no idea what it means (if anything) but it's been noticeable (and annoying).  Maybe my body is working hard to keep me warm??
