There has been a reanimation.  Sadly it carries with it adding a lawyer back into to the population.  My apologies.
:coffee:

Have a full day trial today and may have had a touch too much red wine last night. Back on the diet train today.

Feeling out of sorts M/T but back to work today.

Yesterday-

B: None

L: Romaine with baked chicken, peppers, celery and an apple

D: Chicken Divan over Basmati rice (Was really good)

Wife made Valentine's breakfast for the kids yesterday, kitchen table was decorated and valentines chocolates placed all around the table.  She made chocolate chip pancakes, bacon and sausage.  I had nothing, but those kit kats looked really good.

Today

B: Oatmeal and Yogurt

My goal is to get to 10% by end of February, that's another 3.6 over these 2 weeks.  Another 10lbs for March would be quite an achievement.  That would put me at ~13%  Need to stay strong.

Missed my am workout due to too much wine (which seems to be a common theme ITT) last night.  As punishment I'll hit the weights and cardio tonight.  2 steps forward, 1 step back, rinse and repeat.

Alcohol.  It's my kryptonite.  It always has been.  In so many ways, but including in this diet thing.  Last night 2 glasses led to I think 4 which led to various snacks including a half pint of Halo Top ice cream.  Thankfully it was just Halo Top.

Anyway, summer is coming.  I gotta stop screwing around.  Mrs. O is a terrible influence, because the minute she pours a glass of red and plops down on the couch it becomes REALLY hard for me not to after a day in the office...

Right before bed is the hardest time for me too. I hate going to bed on an empty stomach, You think its hard passing up snacks after a couple glasses of wine, try doing it with a raging case of the munchies. I've replaced the evening bowl of ice-cream with an evening bowl of grapes/blueberries topped w/ 2 TBLS of low-sugar granola and 2 TBLS of non-fat unflavored greek yogurt. The smooth, next-morning BM that follows is just an added bonus.

It's more than just alcohol, but that's definitely one part of it.

How tall are you?

Just curious, so landing at 170 or 175 sounds like your sweet spot.
I'm not sure. That would be hella skinny for me. I'm fairly muscular. I'll get my skeletal muscle mass number the next time I'm at the gym. They have one of those cool scales that measures all sorts of crap.

This is actually a great idea. My one and only weak period is 7-10pm. Rest of my days are flawless. If I can plug in a post-dinner snack each night that is planned, automatic, and healthy, I can maybe steer clear of the bad crap.

Going to try this.  Will pick up some Greek yogurt and zero cal cool whip and some fresh fruit, and see what happens  Will report back

teh secks would be much more effective.

This vodka is so tasty. Luckily I have a little thing called self control and won't gorge myself on a bunch of awful crap that shouldn't be in the house anyhow later.

Cucumber and carrot sticks with lime juice and salt FTW

I think my favorite part of this:

JD and his ugly mug:  hours of blood sweat and tears - 5 lbs lost

AAA: sitting on his ### sipping coffee - 28 lbs lost

Let's go indeed.

Just kidding GB - I really have to start working out and building muscle if I want to sustain this long term
Gives you time in the AM to peruse the forum between sets.  Stay out of the Trump thread though, the overnight crew's takes tend to develop into a #####y, name calling slap fight worthy of the drunkest of chicks.

You ever try to go a defined stretch without any?  30, 45, 60 days?  It's pretty enlightening how you fall into routines or make the same bad choices and it can reset your brain a little.

I have become a big fan of borborygmi. For several reasons... though notably it tells me that I am not eating too much, it also tells me that I have conquered hunger, and then ultimately that my body is eating itself and therefore I'm losing weight.

If you can eat little all day, and then eat an early light dinner (or no dinner at all)... by the time you are in bed going to sleep, your stomach will be rumbling like krakatoa.

Good morning gents.  Chest and tris in the bank along with a 555 cal cardio session.  4 egg whites for recovery.  Stepped on the scale and down some more.  Now that I've dropped below the average starting weight of this group, next target is the average current weight.  Should down forty pounds in about 10 days after my marathon.

Just take my money, take it. Uncle. Uncle.

Consider finding a protien powder with low sugar and making a "frosty" at night.  The consistency isnt exactly frosty like, but using the smaller container that comes with a nutribullet, throw in a scoop of chocolate flavored protien, fill to line with ice, then add water to line and its a decent enough substitute to curb my sweet tooth and comes in at 100 cal with a lot of protien.

Try Coconut milk (unsweetened) instead of water :moneybag:

Grrr, I have been under 1500 calories and have run 3-3.5 miles each day since my weigh in and somehow I am up 1 pound.

I know this happens from time to time but I felt like venting. Its so quick putting on weight and takes so long to get off

Try red wine instead of either. :moneybag:

Appetite-reduction tip: in one study, consuming something bitter an hour before eating reduced calorie consumption spontaneously by 20%. That study used quinine (the bitter ingredient in tonic water), but based on other studies, the same trick should work with coffee, dandelion, herbal bitters, salad greens, dark chocolate, herbal liqueurs (Campari, Aperol, Cynar, Fernet...), maybe even a hoppy IPA.

Twenty healthy volunteers were enrolled in a double-blind cross-over study.  :lmao:

A standard buffet meal was served 60 minutes after capsule administration. The standard meal was composed of white bread, cheese, and ham spread (Spuntì, Kraft Foods, Italy).  :lmao:

I think Galileo was conducting better scientific studies 500+ years ago in Italy.

Here's my study on why consuming something bitter causes calorie consumption.

20 times I gave Otis an IPA and dark chocolate.  19 out of 20 times he followed this up with 4 more IPAs another chocolate bar before heading to the kitchen to consume a gallon of ice cream and every bag of chips in the pantry.  Interestingly enough, he did eat the Spunti.

Slightly off-topic, but did you ever read The Great Starvation Experiment: Ancel Keys and the Men Who Starved for Science. ?

The heroic men of the title were 36 conscientious objectors who, at the end of World War II, volunteered to take part in a yearlong experiment on starvation. They were assigned to the Civilian Public Service Corp. Dr. Ancel Keys, the inventor of the K-ration, headed the experiment. For six months, the men ate a rigorously restricted diet similar to the wartime rations of Europeans. Many of these people, especially survivors of the concentration camps, were dying from malnutrition. During the next six months, Dr. Keys studied their rehabilitation in an effort to understand how best to help feed the starving people after the war. Tucker interviewed 12 of the volunteers and Dr. Keys, and this book chronicles their arduous undertaking and recounts the knowledge gained from the study. Bizarre but true.
Fascinating book with some amazing findings. I remember it made me hungry to read it though. Maybe not a good idea to re-read it now.

Gin and Tonic anyone?

B: Beef jerky and veggie chips

L: Beef jerky and protein shake

Did chest, shoulders, and abs. And ~60 minutes (5 miles) on the treadmill.

How are you guys measuring body fat %?
I have a scale that measures it using bioelectrical impedance (FitBit Aria).  These scales are probably not particularly accurate measuring BF%, but using them to compare measurements taken at different times can provide a relatively accurate measure of progress/trending.

There are studies  about will power that show if you resist and resist and resist all day the probability of cracking later in the day is extremely high.  It just becomes waaaaay too fatiguing.  You are more likely yo eat better at night if you have that donut earlier.
