But Bird is THE wordThose who say age is just a number are wrong. Age is a word.
Wish my wife would do that.If you haven’t abandoned social media yet, do it. My mood is so much better. It could just be me but I get stressed when people openly talk about hating half the country. My productivity is much higher as well.
Haven't experienced this yet. Yet.Get ready to become more friendly with bathrooms as you need to pee out of nowhere.
Fair - just starting happening to me within the past year (I’m 56).Haven't experienced this yet. Yet.Get ready to become more friendly with bathrooms as you need to pee out of nowhere.
60 here..good posting....#shakesfistatcloudIf you haven’t abandoned social media yet, do it. My mood is so much better. It could just be me but I get stressed when people openly talk about hating half the country. My productivity is much higher as well.
All my old spots injuries are just catching up to me. I have more trouble taking off weight but part of that is the limitations.
Back, knee, shoulder, hands and fingers.
Every part I broke years ago just hurts half the time.
Even stretching is a choresome days.
But overall I don't feel old just out of shape so to speak
Same.. I think of it like The Matrix...oh damn... the worst thing- and I remember my dad saying the same thing around my current age- I still have a mental image of what I look like... until I see pictures of myself over the last year or so. and then it's just this random balding old fat dude there instead.
Another old guy should have warned you around 40ish that you should start making the switch from running to biking by 50ish.51 here. Have always been pretty healthy and in good shape.
Back is starting to hurt. Tried to run with my 3 year old lab the other day and it literally felt like my knees were bone on bone. Jarring.
Start hiding trees!Defend your lawn at all costs
I've never been a runner. Hah - I’m going the other way. Joined friends from the whites and am started to get used to it. Then we have 2 dudes, 80 and 83, who compete from the blues. They weren’t scratch or college players. Just kept in shape and still have swing speed. They are my inspiration.Play from the white tees and look forward to when you GET to move up from there.
Everything takes longer to heal - discretion is the better part of valor AND aging.
Be kind to "kids these days". They only seem dumb because they are. So we're you at that age.
Otherwise it's the same as it ever was:
The Lord loves a working man
Don't trust Whitey
See a doctor and get rid of it
I have a buddy whose Dad is 87 and regularly shoots his age. That guy is a stud and certainly has set the bar for me.Hah - I’m going the other way. Yeah, I have an ex-gf from high school whose grandfather only had one arm. He played golf into his late 80s and still shot in the high 80s/low 90s. With one arm. Absolutely love my Sketcher slips ons. Only 54 but get annoyed when I have to tie my shoes now lolI have a feeling 80% of FBG's fit into this category, but the over 50 crowd can appreciate this.
I am late to the party, but I just discovered slip on sneakers/tennis shoes).

Pretty much the same, but only body weight, and never started booze.Lifting weights, getting 10k+ steps in daily and giving up booze has been key to me feeling young
I've moved on to whiskey and/or rye. Two of those, about 4 fingers deep (as opposed to 10 beers) gets you just about right with the world. We can't enjoy a beer now and again? That sucks.

Oh yeah. My wife and I are MUCH better day drinkers than night drinkers now. Some of us canWe can't enjoy a beer now and again? That sucks.
Absolutely. I personally love beer, but I am much more mindful about drinking these days. Mild buzz (2-3) is about all I want, and much earlier in the day, too. Drinking after 6pm = poor sleep. I avoid it.
I have a self diagnosed addictive personality. As a life long beer drinker not only for sport but as a professional in college, the mantra was always you drink until there are none left. Learning how to social drink in the business world was a bit of a challenge when you're 5 deep and the compatriots are still sipping their first. The brown water has acted like a governor for me, sip one or two through the business dinner augmenting with water and you're gold.I've moved on to whiskey and/or rye. I've pretty much cut hard liquor out entirely save for an occasional cocktail at a restaurant or a nip of good brown water if somebody offers. But I do like my IPAs.
Just stick with Guinness. It’s more medicine than drink. Cures all kinds of ailments, mental and physical. A few weeks back I had a badly strained right shoulder and could barely move my arm. After seven Guinness I was doing air guitar windmills to The Who like it was 2009 all over again. Let me know if you need a prescription.

Oddly enough if I am drinking beer Guinness is typically my go to. Now that it comes doctor recommended, who am I to question it's medicinal qualities?Just stick with Guinness. you aren't kidding, that is some stretch.Stretching is key, and don't drink alcohol
Find something you like doing, preferably something active, find a meet-up group, and do it. And try to make friends 1-2 decades younger than you. It’s very easy for your social circles to diminish at this age, especially as your kids age out of sports and/or school activities. We had a big adjustment when our kids both went off to college since a majority of our prior social life was with other families involved in the kids activities.
I’ve found you need to be a little more proactive in keeping those personal connections, which can be harder if you’re an introvert. I’m still trying to figure this one out.
