Over, but not by much. I will give them 6-7 wins; however, there is a ton of work and chemistry building that still has to develop. In a few years, they might be at the Packer's heels.

This is a good summary of games in which, on paper anyway, they could be favored.Since they are still a young team they will suffer from occasional ADD and lose 1-2 of the "should win" games. But then surprise some people with a couple of upsets at home in offensive shootouts.5-11 overall record with a shocking 31-28 win over New England on Thanksgiving (hey, they have to win one of those at some point, don't they?).

I'm very bullish on this year's Lions. The offense should be explosive with ROY candidate Jahvid Best. The addition of Burleson and other vets will help. 2nd year development by Stafford...etc...

I like them to win 7 games this year.

I think they will win 4 or 5 so I think the 4.5 was a very good line but if I had to bet I go over but I worry that Stafford is going to get killed again and another year of beatings could turn him into the next David Carr.

Vegas line started at 4.5 and has been bet up to 5 (-135) I'm sure it will get to 5.5 over the next few months.

I think its a pretty good line...don't see much edge either way

Arizona Cardinals at O/U 7.5 is interesting to me...certainly Lienart scares everyone but that D is going to be improved and so will the run game add in the easy division

Man, if you bet over 4.5, and it goes to 5.5, that would create a pretty sweet middle.

I'm not really convinced Best will be a good NFL starter. I'll take the under & be merciful giving them 3 wins. I really don't think they can beat anyone in their division once.

Adding Nate Burleson, Tony Scheffler, Rob Sims, and Jahvid Best to the offense and Kyle Vanden Bosch, Ndamukong Suh, and Corey Williams to the defense should get them to at least 5 wins with a chance for 1-2 more. I'm calling 6-10 for now.

I'm not in love with Chicago and if Minny runs away with it or secures their place in the playoffs they may steal week 17.

I'll be an extreme optimist and say they sweep the Bears and keep it exciting until December.

I think the Packers are going to win the division. I'm thinking Favre's start streak is going to end this season the way he's been banged up the last 2. Even without Favre Miinny should be able to stomp the Lions.

Over.

I like nearly everything the Lions have done since Mayhew took over, starting with that unbelievable Roy Williams trade (possibly greatest heist in recent NFL history?). They are definitely heading in the right direction, and could have an explosive offense as soon as 2010. The defense is going to need some time, but I think Schwartz will eventually get a passable unit put together. In the meantime, don't be surprised if the Lions offense allows them to steal a few games in 2010 that you thought they should lose...

I know this is off subject a bit, but so far everyone picks the Lions to beat the Bills in Buffalo. Im not saying Buffalo is good, but if i am looking at their schedule, and have to pick a game they will win, home against Detroit would stick out like a sore thumb. Or is everyone convinced the Bills will go 0-16?

When a team is really bad, it's hard to say what game they will win, but invariably, they will win a game that nobody expects them to win...unless they are the 2008 Lions. Buffalo will likely win a game or 2 even if we can't predict which ones.

Considering the Lions have 6 wins in the last 8 years vs Chicago....I find that to be on the more extreme extreme side Matt lol

I'll toss in my 2 cents and go with everyone else at 5.5 wins. And for a hard number I say 5.
