James CaseyI guess Joel Dreessen is the guy to pick up?
I don't disagree with the report necessarily, but the latter part is not true. They will ice any knee injury.Doesn't look good. Postgame report says he's probably out for the year and will have an MRI tomorrow.I didn't see the injury, but the immediate ice pack to the knee after he got hurt made me think he blew out his ACL.
True, but the sight of the ice and OD's body language was a big hint that the injury was a serious one.I don't disagree with the report necessarily, but the latter part is not true. This is really terrible news for Owen Daniels. His future with the Texans was already in doubt (his contract is up, and the Texans seemed to be bringing in young TEs to replace him), but this'll probably seal his fate.Drop him down more than usual in dynasty leagues, because wherever Daniels winds up, the offense is very unlikely to be quite as TE friendly.
I know he was a darling of a number of posters here but is he the pickup and is he ready to contribute now considering his lack of blocking skills and lack of a lot of experience at the position?Yes, with an eye on James Casey.
I don't think so. Neither Dreesen nor Casey will approach OD's production. I think this might bump up the value of guys like Walter and Jacoby Jones because Schaub is more likely to look their way in OD's absence.I know he was a darling of a number of posters here but is he the pickup and is he ready to contribute now considering his lack of blocking skills and lack of a lot of experience at the position?Yes, with an eye on James Casey.
I hear what you're saying but a TE doesn't have to approach the production of the top scoring TE in fantasy football to be worthy of a pickup.I don't think so. If you're asking me if Casey is ready to contribute in terms of fantasy production, my answer is to look elsewhere. He's still only a rookie.I hear what you're saying but a TE doesn't have to approach the production of the top scoring TE in fantasy football to be worthy of a pickup.I don't think so. It looked to me like Casey was the guy that took Daniels spot after the injury. If I was going to pick up just one or the other I'd take the gamble on picking up Casey. He fits the role that Daniels has in the offense better. Not saying he's Daniels, but he's a guy you can send on deeper routes like Daniels does, which I don't think you'd try as much with Dreesen.Avery said:I know he was a darling of a number of posters here but is he the pickup and is he ready to contribute now considering his lack of blocking skills and lack of a lot of experience at the position?Lobary said:Yes, with an eye on James Casey.

Same here. Effffff.EthnicFury said:you can't be serious...i just traded for him in my main dyno last week after Cooley went down![]()
Please let me know what TE you will be picking up or trading for, so that I can immediately trade them away. TIA, will answer yours.Same here. Effffff.EthnicFury said:you can't be serious...i just traded for him in my main dyno last week after Cooley went down![]()
That's right - I forgot he was in a contract year. That's really too bad for the guy - he was having a career year and bound to have a very nice payday next year whereever he ended up. Now he just has to rehab and hope he can get into a good situation.SSOG said:This is really terrible news for Owen Daniels. Shame. I really enjoy this guy's game. Here's to hoping he comes back strong as a Bengal next year.
Oof. Sorry to hear. That's really bad luckSo much for my Cooley/Daniels pairing in a no roster moves league.
Oof. Too bad. He and Leon Washington both got injured before signing loing term deals. I hope someone pays him as hes a very good football player.Confirmed torn ACL. Tough luck for Daniels and he was only on a 1 year contract. Going to be tough for him to get that payday now.Rotoworld:Owen Daniels has a torn ACL and is out for the season, according to the Houston Chronicle. An MRI Monday confirmed Daniels' fears. It's a huge blow to the Texans and fantasy owners as Daniels was on pace for 80 catches, 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns. The Texans are expected to start Joel Dreessen in Daniels' place, but rookie James Casey has the most fantasy upside. Daniels, who was working on a one-year contract, will now need to prove his health before next season. Nov. 2 - 12:24 pm et
I'd take him as a Giant as well... Boss needs help, he's getting his butt kicked every game.Shame. I really enjoy this guy's game. Here's to hoping he comes back strong as a Bengal next year.![]()
