Owens...is he a baby or what! (1 Viewer)

I'm surprised he might only miss a week or two. How can he possibly practice? Do you know how hard it is to put on a bicycle helmet with a broken finger???

I don't question his toughness, but I do question his durability.

How many seasons has it been - 5? since he hasn't missed a game or two to injury? (yes, I know 2005 was suspension, not injury, but a the end of the day either you play or don't.)

oh. and I don't question his ###hattery, that much is proven.

yeah yeah, owens is a brat, jerk, clown... but no one has a right to question his toughness...
If he got a splinter in his butt from sitting on the bench he would cry to the trainers..take me to the locker room now I'm hurt!
What a worthless thread. He is listed as out 2-4 weeks because of surgery. Surgery is this thing where they cut open your body and fix things. Are you really questioning TO's toughness? I am not a big fan of the guy, but didn't he return way ahead of schedule to try and help Philly win a Super Bowl? What evidence do you have of him not being tough? Are you judging him on pre-season or what? The guy practices and plays as hard as anyone.Help me understand what point you are trying to make in this thread and back it up with some facts.
I think the issue here is what I would call "selective healing". Sure, he came back for the Super Bowl -- heck, I mean who wouldn't since it's the biggest game of one's career. I will give him a HUGE amount of respect for trying to make it back from his leg injury, and I will give him credit for finishing the game with that broken bone. BUT, when there are pre-season games, or a game that doesn't mean much, he seems to take a little more time to deal with it. That's my perception which is worth what you're paying for these thoughts. If the broken bone is on the back of his hand as Irvin said last Sunday, and if it indeed hurts really bad, I will wait and see if he is "back" for the Philadelphia game. Can he stand the pain enough to make sure he sticks it to DNabb and Philly.

...Why isn't anyone calling Steve Smith a baby? T.O rests his hammy, and he is a baby...Steve Smith misses 2 games, and there is nothin!
:goodposting: I am no fan of TO as he should have lost the respect of everyone. However, since he has been with Dallas everyone has tried to make something out of nothing and he handled it very, very well. He made one mistake and that was to draw attention to himself with the Lance Armstrong impersonation, but that was only to be humorous and wasn't bad. EVERYONE was giving him crap about his hammy yet Steve Smith and Ward had hammy issues as well and TO came back before both of them. Not to turn political but when you cry wolf (or trump up something) about a time that isn't valid, it only takes away from the legit times that deserve heavy criticism.
Agreed. And btw regarding the one "mistake"- If Chad Johnson did that we'd all be laughing our asses off and praising him for "keeping the mood light."

There are 4579 posts that reply to your misunderstanding of Owens..of course goes back to 49ers times.
Bubba - I asked you to help me understand the point of your thread. Your reply only shows me your ignorance. You seem to be bashing TO for not being tough. Is TO being listed as out 2-4 weeks your reasoning? Was it that he didn't play pre-season football? What???
I believe my very first post was the question..seems you never answered it ..why two other players can play with a broken finger and not Owens..yes saw the other replies..but that's their opinion..I think he is a wimp..just trying to take over Parcells in a way>so whats your opinion on this now?
And this has been answered already! First off, he didn't break his finger so your entire premise is simply wrong. Second of all, players just follow doctor's orders many times, and it has nothing to do with toughness. Third of all, even if you are listed wth teh same injury as someone else doesn't mean its the same severity. Fourth of all, he hasn't even missed a game yet and he stayed in the last game and played with the injury.

Tons of star players like Edge James barely even play in preseason when they are healthy to avoid getting hurt. I don't think that is a reason to bash T.O. Its widely accepted imo that veterans get to sit out more than necessary in the preseason.

Fourth (ring finger) metacarpal fracture.

I would like to see anyone with this try to catch a football.

With this type of injury, he can't flex his finger.
but.....but.....he makes a lot of money???? surely that should help???
:goodposting: You did leave out "But I don't like him, so shouldn't he heal faster?????"

What's minor surgery?

*all together* "Surgery that's happening to someone else."

Dudes - he hasn't missed a game yet. Chill. EVen if he does miss a game or two due to surgery on his hand...chill.
