Pacman Jones continues to screw up (1 Viewer)

Best part is that dude buys a Lamborghini but didn't pay the $20 to get the right tag for it. pure comedy.
PFT's take is that he probably didn't register it to avoid paying taxes on it or something like that. Although, if you can't afford the taxes, you can't afford a car like that.Guess he needed that money to "make it rain" in Vegas back in February.

I am reminded of the story about Michael Jordan having his bodyguard essentially babysit Dennis Rodman while he was with the Bulls. The bodyguard used to drive to Rodman's house to get him up for practice, etc. b/c Michael knew for all of his screwing up, Rodman was vital to their success. (Well, that and never facing Hakeem in the playoffs. wink1.gif) Anyway, I wish Jones had someone in his life who could make a career out of keeping him from being a moron because he really is a talented football player, and as much as I think his thuggery absolutely should be punished, I think Adam Jones simply "doesn't know better" compared to some guys who seem to be really bad apples.

So starting threads now about traffic violations? That don't involve ridiculous speed, drugs, alcohol, or hookers?

the thing is, the NFL (and basically everyone in the country) has a microscope on Pacman. even if it is small things from now on, it accumulates to the things he's done. he has to have a cleaner image, although he'll play someday. after this, Goddell should kick him outta the league IMO. he's done way too many things (and the seriousness of a few) to keep having multiple chances of getting betterenough of the rant

no wonder he dropped the appeal:

pacman jones, suspended april 10

april 20th- full page ad apologizing and promising the straight and narrow

may 1, appeals decision

may 10, second meeting with goodell, appeal/reduction request still pending

june 10 additional traffic violation

june 11, meets with goodell for third time, "decides" to drop appeal

After all of the things he has been involved with, both serious and minor, what leads to you believe the bolded part? How many times does someone need to be told the right thing to do and that some of the things that he has done are wrong until it's about the fact that he just doesn't care and not due to him not knowing any better?

He'll understand............................once he's broke and jobless.

It's a pattern of behavior that reflects poorly on the NFL as a whole. This type of thing is squarely on Goodell's radar for this guy in particular. It's not unlike the Tank Johnson deal. The bears didn't care if he was legally drunk or not. Just the fact that he was out drinking until 3:30 and then got into a car is reason enough not to trust him when he says "I'm going to be a better man".

I don't think traffic citations should be held against Pacman, but the money part of owning a ferrari and not paying the tags is comical. I get the impression he's a spender. Depending on if he already got his guaranteed money, he had about $17m to blow through. If this guy is out too long, he may end up broke.

He does. It's called a "parole officer".

If Goodell eventually bans him from the league, can Tenn try to recoup a portion of his signing bonus? Say, on the grounds he violated the terms of his contract or morals clause?

I believe that Adam "Pacman" Jones has gotten what he deserves. I do not believe that he will ever change. I don't think he will ever play in the NFL again. He does not care about the team. Adam Jones only cares about himself. I just don't think he will ever change.

fifty bucks says he'll play someday. the NFL isn't strict enough, even now

I probably should not say "never", but I do not think he will play another game for the Titans. Now, some other team may take a chance on him, but they should not. I also agree that the NFL is not strict enough. Just look at Michael Vick. This is Kige Ramsey for YouTube Sports.

Guess Pacman was being targeted by the police?

Lawyer: Deputy had it in for Pacman

FOXSports.com, Updated 1 hour ago STORY TOOLS:

Adam "Pacman" Jones is in even more legal trouble after receiving three traffic citations last month. But according to his attorney, Pacman may the victim of a mischievous plan.

Worrick Robinson, attorney for the Tennessee Titans cornerback, claims his client was targeted by a Deputy with an agenda.

Deputy David Hadley "made claims in the past that he was going to pull over Adam Jones the first time he got occasion to, that's exactly what he had been bragging about around other people in Williamson County," Robinson was quoted as saying on the Web site of The Nashville Tennessean.

According to Sheriff Ricky Headley, Hadley saw Jones get into his orange Lamborghini, and subsequently pulled him over due to prior knowledge that Jones didn't have a Tennessee license, the newspaper reported.

Jones did have a valid driver's license from Georgia, but a citizen has to get a new license within 30 days of establishing residence in a new state. Evidently, Hadley knew that Jones had not done so.

Jones also could not produce proof of insurance and registration, and was cited for those offenses, as well.

Headley also said it was commonly known in his department that Jones didn't have a Tennessee license because Jones presented only a Georgia ID card to police in January when they investigated a robbery at his home.

Robinson said hearsay that Jones didn't have a license did not qualify as the "specific and articulable facts" necessary to initiate a traffic stop, the Tennessean reported.

"The proper protocol was to type Mr. Jones' personal information into a computer, and the computer would have shown that he had a valid driver's license," Robinson was quoted as saying. "Instead (the officer) chose to make a spectacle of the situation and the hearsay proved to be false."

Keeping a closer eye out on people that continually screw up is what I would expect the police to do. I don't consider it a "mischievous plan".
