Path of Exile (free to play & now on Xbone) (1 Viewer)

Up to level 47, no play at all this past weekend. Got my next farming/leveling area in Fellshire. Grabbed the waypoint in the Dungeon there so I can kill until full, log out, log in and waypoint right back. :nerd:At level 47, I am getting about 1/2 a level when I clear most of the level and they are all easy mobs.
Is this cruel or merciless level?If cruel, will your level cause a drop penalty when farming Fellshrine as the monsters are only level 42 in cruel?http://en.pathofexilewiki.com/wiki/Fellshrine_Ruins

Cruel of course. Gotten some OK drops with yellow, gems and orbs. Nothing lights out, but a couple of chance and lots of lowers. I will take another level of XP leveling to 49 and move on. Cruel can be just that if you are not careful. It really pisses me off when I get some good XP, die because of something stupid, and lose that XP. :hot:
 
Broken bridge is interesting, but the combination of mobs makes it a difficult zone in Cruel. Those #######g archers with exploding arrows are nasty.

 
Just got my 2nd life on hit gem. These things are :moneybag: for melee with AOE.
My ranger is crap solo in cruel. I party exclusively with him. Mostly going to use him to farm gear for my duelist, dual axe cleave build. Have fun with the ranger but I'm not running any auras, have very few things linked to burning arrow. Tempted to switch back to poison, but will stay with burning. I don't much care as I can fly through levels and content in groups. Meant to quote your other post :)
I might also add that you might consider swing instead of cleave. That gives you 360 degree AOE coverage instead of the roughly 180 you get from cleave.
Sweep? Have that on my low marauder. I love it but cleave suits 1 hand axes.
Yes, sweep. Is swing 2H only? I use leap slam with a 2H sword, swing for a 2H mace, and cleave on occasion with axe or sword. I don't know if 1H vs 2H matters.
I think it is 2H only. I also can't figure out how to link any of my character info here. Can't link passive tree because work still uses an old version of Explorer. 6 maybe.
 
How much do 5L weapons and armor go for? I have gotten a few pieces with 5 slots, and am considering burning a fusing or 2 to see if it is a good investment. Thoughts here?

Gonna have to burn more than one or two unless you get very very very lucky.
I'm just sayin' - how much is it worth? ;) Just had a support gem - increased duration drop. I am guessing that one is desirable, but how common is it?
 
I would like to get a one handed high DPS weapon if anyone has one laying around. I see some that are plus 250 dps? WTF? I want one

Not gonna find a 1h with DPS that high till end game.At approximately lvl 60, differs depending on what type of weapon specifically, you will begin to see damages this high on one handers but it takes a combination of mods to achieve it.For physical damage weapons you will need flat xx-yy Physical damage increase, %physical damage increase and increased attack speed.For elemental damage weapons it will take either flat xx-yy fire, lightning and cold damage or two of the three elements with increased attack speed, (it should be noted that you can get all 3 elemental damages AND increased attack speed on a weapon, and im actually looking for two high lvl tri-elemental 1handed sword or axes.)Aside from the unique Geoffres Baptism (lvl 32 maul with 200+ dmg) 2handers dont really hit the 200 damage mark till about lvl 50.

I have been lucky to get a 230 at level 32 I believe. Just got a maul that hits 280 at 45.

0.8 speed base? This seems incredibly high even for 2hs.

What type? What level?
I started over with a Templar. I am at level 27. The mana draw is way too much at this point with the lightning gem. I am starting to read the thread and it seems this is typical with a Templar Build early on. I was thinking that a high DPS weapon would work better at this level since I won't need to drain so much mana.

I really wish I could convert some of my transmutation orbs to something else. Even alteration would be nice so I could then turn them into jewelers, etc.

Does everyone start at the same point? Same type of Character? How can someone put up 10 levels in 2 hours? WoW I am doing something seriously wrong.
 
Put together a party last night, did Chamber of Sin and the Archbishop. Man, I cannot tell you how much I hate level 3 of the Chamber of Sin. Levels 1 and 2? NBD. Level three has large groups of the Thunder Priests that shock you to death. ETA Cruel difficulty.

Hard to say, there are so many different ways to go about each class. I'm toying around with a wand base attack witch using the nodes that add 10% of damage to elemental damage up by the curse area. Running as many damage auras as I can to enhance the base attack and minion support.The lack of elemental resistance and life is disturbing, so I'm trying to stack energy shield to see how hard it would be to survive with chaos inoculation.

Use them on health,mana, etc pots. you can get some very nice ones. I pick up every pot I can find and do this.
 
I hated that friggin' pyramid, so what do I do? Get that quest, join a group already there, and Vaal is down in a few minutes. NICE! That is why you party up. :) I didn't have to spend forever going through those levels.

For me grinding through the levels is part of the fun of the game. I don't really want to speed up finishing the game, but I can understand why someone would want to do that if they are getting frustrated.I wear the "hours played" on a game like a badge of friggan honor (use Francis's voice from youtube for this :) )
 
If anyone has all the waypoints in Act 3 Cruel, I would love to have the tour. :)
Does every non-dungeon area have a waypoint? Seems like in Act 2 they are few and far between or am I just missing them because the areas are so huge?

No, not every one does. Most are spaced evenly every other, but some dungeons are unkind. If I am on and anyone wants any WPs that I have, just let me know.

Bring up the high level mapGo to the act you are interested inEach area you go to will show you whether it has a way point or no, and whether you have found said way point. Just bring up the legend to see what the different colors meanNo blue dot, indicates no way pointSmall blue dot indicates a way point that you have not yet foundBig blue dot represents a way point you have foundThe dots only who up once you have entered an area.Not every area has a way pointThe multi-tiered locations will typically have one way point on one of the levels.

In races everyone starts at lvl 1 on the beach and they are timed - and typically hardcore only, meaning if you die you are out of the race.It was a party race, having 5 other people with you is a significant advantage.

Sorry I missed your message in game. I'm not ignoring you, but now I found a chain and am thinking of making a build based on chain and lmp.Also found my second unique, level 5 Quill Rain bow. Perfect roll on the accuracy, crappy roll on attack speed. Good Dex, and it has 5 green sockets, 3 connected, which is pretty cool.
 
So, wands - do they just shoot some elemental damage or physical? Missile I assume?
You're using your skills, like fireball, whatever. Doesn't matter what kind of weapon you use. You can also whack things with them if you're so inclined. I think they can do projectile damage, but it's never going to be as much as your skills.
 
If you take the convert evasion to armor passive skill, do armor bonus passive skills get applied to only regular armor or to the evasion/armor as well?

When I get the blood magic node my build goes to crap.I am constantly having to recharge my life, where as before I hardly ever had to use them. I was using clarity on my mana, and yes it took a great part of my 230 Mana, but when I wanted to use my weapon it was always charged. Now it is a struggle. I took back the blood magic point and am waiting for someone to tell me why it is a good choice to keep.

I don't know about Templars, but I've got blood magic on my Marauder. Heavy life/regen build, my skills don't even budge my health. I don't run any auras.
 
I've gotten two blood magic gems and use those with aoe skills and still run auras. Works great.

 
When you figure running auras can give you a pretty good boost in terms of DPS, it more than makes up for a used gem slot IMO to use Blood Magic gem vs the passive skill.

I like ground slam because of the AOE effect. It's not that hard to keep monsters in front of you. I tried replacing Increased Fire a little while ago, and it was a dps loss. It adds 30%, that's better than having to deal with auras and mana at this point. Not that I would have much mana, this is an all strength build.
 
Anyone have lesser or greater projectiles hit me up. Also looking for faster projectiles. I think that linking my weapon 1 handed 3 link with lightning - lesser/greater projectiles - lightning - faster projectiles will be my best bet.

Think of wands as one handed bows, they shoot a projectile that does the damage labeled on the weapon, physical base damage and if the wand has elemental damage will also do elemental damage.
