Seriously? I don't even think your fellow Pats Fans would agree with this. Patriots cheating and tarnished legacy is pretty much an Internet meme at this point. Every article you can find just about mentions some variant of "past cheating" , "bending the rules", etc.You mean the Patriots will forever be tarnished in the eyes of a select few haters on a fantasy football forum, Jets/Colts/Ravens fans, and the few "salty haters" in the NFL media such as Brunnel and Bettis..and they're all basing these cheating claims off Mortensons word, lol.ok, you're the one rooting for a cheating organization and the perception is nationwide. The Patriots will forever be tarnished in the yes of the public (minus the Northeast) and again, this is forever. The only person who's embarrassing themselves is you and every other single salty hater in this thread. The NFL hasn't even confirmed that 11 out of 12 balls were underinflated, yet for some reason you're believing Mortenson..who's been wrong in the past. Talk about embarrassing! You're embarrassing yourself, quit it.Might as well throw the Colts into the mix too. Piping in artificial crowd noise, purposely cranking the heat up in the RCA dome, and let's not forget intentionally losing so they could draft Luck. You can't argue another team is cheating when your own team has done it themselves.Welcome to the legacy bonfire.I'm beginning to think the Patriots are up to something
refs couldn't tell the difference. Riiiiiiight![]()
The NFL could have came out today with a live camera feed that was with the footballs the entire day and he would still would have said cover up.Nooooo ####, really?!! :lol;I'm calling cover-up
We all knew this was coming from the moment you first posted in the thread... Absent some fantasyland suspension / picks package that was never, ever going to be handed down.
And put the blame on the refs? Yeah right. The general public will forget/forgive a megastar for things like this, but if the public found out the refs might not be doing 110% of their job... that's bad. Not to mention the reaction speed for the NFL on any sort of PR nonsense is glacier-like.If this were true, you'd think the NFL would come out and defend a mega star instead of letting him flop around in the wind against a media that has decided to take a stand against ball deflation.Or, the refs literally never check because its a literal non-issue.Literally.Or they only do it for cold games when it's needed. The other possibilities are the Pats have only done it a short time or the refs aren't very competent.
http://m.espn.go.com/nfl/story?storyId=12213533Lol @ Brady claiming be didn't notice the balls were underinflated after playing with them for 2 quarters, yet D'Qwell Jackson noticed immediately after picking him off. These guys
are terrible liars.

He called the fallout "comical."
No chance the NFL throws the refs under the bus. Someone big at the Patriots is taking the fall for this. I'm sure the refs "know" things that the NFL doesn't want made public. And put the blame on the refs? Yeah right. This is why you're having such difficulty here. You totally miss the point. The media isn't taking a stand against "ball deflation", they are taking a stand against cheating in sports. Everyone (well, almost everyone) wants a level playing field, even with the minutiae, at the margins of the rules, particularly at this level. Why is this so difficult to understand? If this were true, you'd think the NFL would come out and defend a mega star instead of letting him flop around in the wind against a media that has decided to take a stand against ball deflation.Or, the refs literally never check because its a literal non-issue.Literally.Or they only do it for cold games when it's needed. The other possibilities are the Pats have only done it a short time or the refs aren't very competent.
Ive been saying it for a few days now, I don't think they are gonna find anything condemning. They are taking the investigation as seriously as possible because of how much it blew up overnight and they don't want it to look like they are white washing the issue during a two week period where there will be no actual news.If this were true, you'd think the NFL would come out and defend a mega star instead of letting him flop around in the wind against a media that has decided to take a stand against ball deflation.Or, the refs literally never check because its a literal non-issue.Literally.Or they only do it for cold games when it's needed. The other possibilities are the Pats have only done it a short time or the refs aren't very competent.

Again, not really. You guys are comical in your desperate circling of the wagons. There's reasonable precedent to expect "cover-up" based on the league response to Spy-Gate. Media was almost unanimous in complaining about the lack of transparency in that case. The NFL could have came out today with a live camera feed that was with the footballs the entire day and he would still would have said cover up.Nooooo ####, really?!! :lol;I'm calling cover-up

The NFL has some of these answers and still hasn't given us a timeline, which is quite unbelievable. There are only four or five facts that need to be known, and they all could have been established Monday. What instrument did they originally use to determine the balls were at 12.5 psi?
What instrument did they use to determine the balls were at 10psi?
What is the accuracy of both of the instruments? if you are familiar with gauges, the error is more than you might think.
At what temperature did they use to measure the psi on the ball?
How much can psi change throughout the course of a day, including a football game?
These things could all easily lead to more than a net change in psi than what occurred in the Pats/Colts game.
From page 29 of this thread, I only posted it cause I had heard from like 20 different places that he denied the rumor that he brought it to anyones attention.who`s WE ? So, D'Qwell Jackson said that he didn't report anything to anyone and noticed no difference. Harbaww said he has no idea what people are talking about in regards to balls. Justin Tucker has said he noticed absolutely nothing about the K-balls.
So, seriously, who the #### is the source of these rumors?
If they wanted to protect their brand, they could have easily killed the story Monday.Again, not really. You guys are comical in your desperate circling of the wagons. There's reasonable precedent to expect "cover-up" based on the league response to Spy-Gate. Media was almost unanimous in complaining about the lack of transparency in that case. Then add in their handling of the Ray Rice thing and the supposed "independent" investigation (lead by a former FBI director who apparently was the lead lawyer for the law firm that negotiated the league's last TV contract) and I'd say it's completely reasonable to expect a "cover-up" to some degree at least. They will do anything to protect the brand, it's just a question of what they judge their best response to be based on cost-benefit, which I guess will have only incidental relationship to the truth. The NFL could have came out today with a live camera feed that was with the footballs the entire day and he would still would have said cover up.Nooooo ####, really?!! :lol;We all knew this was coming from the moment you first posted in the thread... Right, but the question then is did they do it in other games too. They beat the Ravens by 4 the week before. What if they did it in that game? There are rumors flying around that both the Colts and Ravens had noticed it prior to the AFC Championship game. Not sure those are fact yet, but if they become as much then that's a pretty big deal. Who knows how far back it goes.2. Deflated balls is NOT the reason the Pats won. That is hardly disputable in fact. They destroyed the Colts. Which makes it that much more infuriating that they may have (probably did in historical context) cheated. Goes back to my Nixon scenario.

The pattern of cheating has been long established. Only a fool or fanatic could not see that.
And while some of us have a chance to throw a little bait onto the steaming pile of ugly truth and honesty here, the harsh reality is that much as I dislike the Steelers far more than the Pats, I still respect them (although the sideline thing was bs).
So please don't hide behind it's hating because of success. It's hating tainted success and with it, that much doubt and loss of faith in a sport we love.

exactlyJust about any other team and this isn't a big deal.
I don't want to rehash this whole ridiculous thread, but what pattern are you talking about? A pattern would require at least 2 and generally 3 incidents. What "cheating" episodes are you referring to except Spygate (which was really rule-breaking more than cheating)? The pattern of cheating has been long established. Only a fool or fanatic could not see that.

I've always wondered how they KNOW the first down markers are exactly ten yards. It seems like such guesswork, and is even funnier when they go to "instant replay".People should wait for the facts and the investigation. 2.5 psi isn't ####. The NFL is so outdated on so many levels I wouldn't be surprised if they were using a psi gauge from an Autozone. You guys are complaining about air pressure in a ball and we measure first downs with sticks and chains and an old man who looks drunk trying to walk the ball down the field in a straight line. Really?
Wasnt it estblished yesterday that Jackson wasnt the main source of this? Please people, try to keep up.It doesn't matter what Jackson said, the balls were deflated, 11 out of 12 of them.
