Patriots vs Jets Official Game Thread (1 Viewer)

Belichick going off on the refs, demanding that the jets players who were ejected get off the field before he will run a play. He's absolutely right, and its bush league for the jets to keep them on the field, but that's such a classic bb move when the game is totally over and they just need the one kneel down. Lol
No point in that really. Stupid thing to whine about
He wasn't really whining. He was just pissed that the guys who were ejected for trying to hurt his player wouldn't leave the field. It definitely didn't matter much in the long run, but it was much more bush league for the jets to blow off their ejections after cheap shotting the guy who just iced the game against them. Get off the field, and enjoy your boos. You earned them, just like you earned the fines you'll get.

He doesn't want them to start fighting again after the game is done. He wants them off the field so they aren't there during the handshakes.

Frustrating to let a winnable game get away, but couldn't expect too much more. Rookie QB against a HOF coach. Short your best middle of the field WR, crappy rainy night, only 4 days of prep.

Geno made some really bad decisions and missed some throws tonight, but I still think he has something. Hopefully he plays a little better with a nice long break.

Meh he was a big slow guy trying to tackle a small fast guy who jumped away at the last second. But I'm sure roger will accept a donation.
he spearheaded at a guys knees 3' outopf bounds
I agree, but the little guy shouldn't have stood there dancing, literally taunting him. I think it looked worse than it was because the big guy committed to hitting him at almost the same instant the little guy decided he better step out. The big guy was just WAAAAAAAYYYYYY slower
Agreed. What if Talib had stayed in bounds? Then all of a sudden, Mangold is tackling a guy who was trying to return a pick for a touchdown.

I agree- and i always give a grain of salt on a turnover, bunch of offensive players suddenly trying to remember how to tackle. Its never pretty, not for any ill will.

IDK, watching the replay again in slow motion a couple of times it looks like Mangold starts diving at Talib just as he starts doing his 360 spin jump out of bounds. Guess we'll see what the league says in a few days.

That's what I saw too. Certainly worthy of a flag, but talk of suspension is silly. Considering the circumstances and the fact that he's an offensive lineman un-used to tackling, I wouldn't expect more than a minimal fine, if any.

As for the idiots throwing haymakers and shoving officials afterwards.............

Right- its possible Mangold didnt anticipate Talib dancing a jig on the sideline and finishing with a 360 degree pirouette into the air and ultimately out of bounds. Don't want somebody hittin you weird? Dont do weird stuff on the field. Fall down, games over.

I really loved how BB rubbed the Jets nose in their loss at the end, by demanding the ejected players be removed from the field for the last 38 seconds. Smug and hilarious.

I loved this game.

I'm not one to root for the Patriots anymore than players as they pass through my teams.

But for some reason tonight I was enjoying the close game and loved the end.

Yeah, good 'ole Bill is an ornery, shrewd, dck of a *******. But tonight he stuck it well to the other...well, just dck of a *******.

Why did the Jets not use the TE more? And run it more? Too much downfield passing which ended up killing them.
Hill had some nice plays. I think it was Bilal, one of their backs did real well and someone here was saying why go away from him. IIRC 6ypc at that point.

I think the Pats took Winslow away early (after last week) and Geno focused on Gates a bunch.

Will be interested to see what Denard gets hit with. There was a lot of woofing and etc after Mangold's hit, but it didn't kick off until he got involved.

sucky, sloppy game but loved every minute of it seeing RIDLEY get 4 points as he is my opponents rb1..... Ridley is a turd.

That's how I saw it, too. Mangold hustling over there. Talib starts juking around a bit before slipping OOB. Mangold loses control and tumbles into him...

98.5 Boston speculated that Aqib Talib might have been injured last night on that last interception. Their basis (which is very weak) was that he conducted no interviews after the game, although it was expected that he would since he was arguably the player of the game. I think he might not have answered any questions because he didn't want to deal with questions regarding the fight that ensued. It's probably a garbage idea, but I know that everyone here wants to know.

I don't think losing control is ever a good reason to give a late hit/out of bound hit. But I do think Talib should have made it evident that he was out of bounds, which he didn't. Tiptoeing the sideline like he did invites a hit. You can't expect anything else.
