PDSL 3 Teams (1 Viewer)

I promise I'll have my ratings and rankings later today........

With all the nice weather we've been having on the east coast, I've been concentrating on work outside around the house and the main sqeeze has been up my butt about things that should have gotten done a long time ago. I'm sure some (or most) of you know what I mean......

Sorry for the delay!!! In the meantime.....have a drink on me... :lmao: :banned:

See you tonite!
I thought you were going to do some analysis Rody. It's ok if you don't. I know it would require a lot of work. I was kinda looking forward to seeing your comments about the teams and where you think they stand in terms of winning the league. You don't have to do my team if that'll help. I figure I'm middle of the road and with some breaks I could stand a good chance of winning it. Just my opinion though as I'm sure others have different ones.Regardless, if you don't do an analysis, I'm looking forward to battling you and the rest of the league for survivor supremacy.
RR had a bad draft, he's been ducking me for a month now, I wouldnt expect too much from Mr. RR, he's been avoiding this topic, when he was trying to make me look like a jerk he couldnt stay away from it, I mean wouldnt you avoid this topic if you had his team? You have a pretty good team I'll analyze it for you.

5.10 Matt Hasselbeck, SEA, QB8, Bye-8

9.10 Rex Grossman, CHI, QB25, Bye-9

14.07 Chris Simms, TB, QB37, Bye-10

Good. Im a little worried about Grossman but Hasselbeck was the consensus #2 QB and getting him at QB 8 was value, I also like the Simms pick I think he has a decent chance to start, but you needed alot of help else where with that pick.

Grade: A-

1.10 Joseph Addai, IND, RB9, Bye-6

4.07 Marshawn Lynch, BUF, RB29, Bye-6

8.07 Dominic Rhoades, OAK, RB43, Bye-5

12.07 Ron Dayne, HOU, RB55, Bye-10

19.10 Noah Herron, GB, RB72, Bye-7

I like Addai, I have him around RB8 which is an average RB1, then Lynch is probably a below average RB2 as rookie RBs generally dont contribute much and are prone to injury. Also a lack of depth here.

Grade C

2.07 Torry Holt, STL, WR3, Bye-9

3.10 Lee Evans, BUF, WR14, Bye-6

6.07 Vincent Jackson, SD, WR31, Bye-7

10.07 D.J. Hackett, SEA, WR54, Bye-8

13.10 Nate Washington, PIT, WR76, Bye-6

not enough receivers, I do like the receivers you have but I would have liked to have seen atleast 1 or 2 more WRs. And you are lucky the DJ Jax trade worked out so thats good for you.

Grade: C-

7.10 Tony Scheffler, DEN, TE13, Bye-6

15.10 Chris Baker, NYJ, TE26, Bye-10

18.07 Dan Campbell, DET, TE33, Bye-6

These are below average TEs

Grade: D+

16.07 Josh Scobee, JAC, K11, Bye-4

20.07 Martin Gramatica, DAL, K30, Bye-8

Ok K's

Grade C

11.10 San Diego Chargers, DST3, Bye-7

17.10 Buffalo Bills, DST27, Bye-6

Good defenses

Grade A-

Conclusion: I would have used the picks you used on a third QB and TE on another WR and possible another RB I think your team would have been alot better had you done so.

6.09 Matt Leinart, ARI, QB12, Bye-8

11.08 JaMarcus Russell,OAK, QB31 , Bye-5

Again, average QB1 horrible QB2

Grade D

1.08 Rudi Johnson, CIN, RB7, Bye-5

4.09 Jamal Lewis, CLE, RB30, Bye-7

8.09 Lorenzo Booker, MIA, RB44, Bye-9

9.08 Corey Dillon, ???, RB48

18.09 Maurice Hicks, SF, RB69, Bye-6

20.09 Travis Minor, STL, RB77, Bye-9

You got lucky Lewis is still the starter, even though he is, he's still a below average RB2 and the rest of the crap might be a decent RB3

Grade C-

2.09 Reggie Wayne, IND, WR5, Bye-6

5.08 Santana Moss, WAS, WR25, Bye-4

7.08 Isaac Bruce, STL, WR39, Bye-9

10.09 Ashley Lelie, SF, WR56, Bye-6

13.08 Dwayne Jarrett, CAR, WR75, Bye-7

14.09 David Givens, TEN, WR79, Bye-4

Jarrett is a rookie and wont contribute, Givens is coming off a serious injury, Lelie will be battling to be a starter, Bruce is old and washed up. Moss is inconsistent, not alot to like besides Wayne

Grade D+

3.08 Kellen Winslow II, CLE, TE2, Bye-7

12.09 Ben Troupe, TEN, TE21, Bye-4

Good Tes even though you over paid for Winslow

Grade A-/B+

15.08 David Akers, PHI, K8, Bye-5

19.08 Michael Koenen, ATL, K25, Bye-8

Akers is an average K1 but Koenen isnt even the kicker in Atl A. Elling is, horrible pick there.

Grade D

16.09 Arizona Cardinals, DST17, Bye-8

17.08 Seattle Seahawks, DST25, Bye-8

Below average defenses and have the same bye week

Grade G-

Bye Week Planning

Horrible bye week plainning both defense and his only QB on the same week

Grade G-

Final Grade D- I'll give you some mercy points for trying.

Hey Guys,

I talked to Rody, and he will be getting his rankings out shortly. He has had some other issues to deal with, some cut him a little slack. When he gets back he will defend his picks and opinions.

Of all people Norris, you should know that I am 100% unafraid of putting myself out there for ridicule.

The thing is, I was hired by FBG's as a News Blogger Reporter and have been spending a lot of time doing the research that everyone here loves to get a look at.....namely, timely news about NFL players/issues that have fantasy impact. That, and add in the fact that my very young father passed away on Tuesday afternoon (I am dealing with all of the unpleasant details that must be addressed at this time,) you just might understand my delay in posting my grades and predictions. Just take it for what it's worth and please have some patience (not patients :lmao: , they belong in hospitals.)

That being said, I'll get back here as soon as possible to give you all what you've been clamoring to see. No one will be left out and no one will be disappointed.

Rody

My grade is a D- since Turner wasn't traded.  Thought I'd save you the trouble :bye:

My condolences on your recent loss Rody. I've been there so I know what you're going through. Family is always priority one.Whatever you need to get through this you should do and put any football activities on the back burner for awhile. You take care of yourself and your family. You'll be in my thoughts and prayers and I'm sure your football family here at FBG's will do the same.

lions327

6.01 Jon Kitna, DET, QB10, Bye-6

9.16 Trent Green, KC, QB29, Bye-8

13.16 Josh McCown, OAK, QB36, Bye-5

I have a hard time not seeing Kitna be a top 5 QB, which is great value at 10 your QB2 however isnt very good, I think trent is a decent pick actually, and McCown has a good chance to start

Grade: A- if Green is a starter D+ if not

1.16 Maurice Jones-Drew, JAC, RB15, Bye-4

3.16 Michael Turner, SD, RB28, Bye-7

7.16 Leon Washington, NYJ, RB40, Bye-10

12.01 Mewelde Moore, MIN, RB53, Bye-5

15.16 Kevin Faulk, NE, RB65, Bye-10

Well is didnt work out did it, LW is a decent #3 but you busted on your number 2 so your RBs are a severe weakness, Turner might actually be decent this year (for a backup)

Grade D

4.01 Lavernues Coles, NYJ, WR17, Bye-10

5.16 Mark Clayton, BAL, WR28, Bye-8

8.01 Jerry Porter, OAK, WR44, Bye-5

10.01 Brandon Jones, TEN, WR51, Bye-4

11.16 Reche Caldwell, NE, WR69, Bye-10

14.01 Eric Parker, SD, WR77, Bye-7

This is an average group with no WR#1, Brandon Jones is an excellent sleeper and Porter is good value there.

Grade C-

2.01 Antonio Gates, SD, TE1 , Bye-7

16.01 Leonard Pope, ARI, TE30, Bye-8

Grade A

19.16 Matt Bryant, TB, K28, Bye-10

20.01 Rian Lindell, BUF, K29, Bye-6

17.16 Cleveland Browns, DST31, Bye-7

18.01 Houston Texans, DST32, Bye-10

These are horrible defenses and average Ks

Grade D

Final grade C- to C+ depending Trent

Well I dont think its that bad

Everyone has their own opinions and reasons for drafting the players they did. Rather than go through the teams and rate people's draft I decided on a different approach. I looked at all the teams and gave a grade based on their complete rosters. Please don't take offense if your team did not receive as good a grade as others. It's merely my opinion. I think everyone has a good team which made it difficult to grade some higher than others.

As for a prediction I'm going to say the winner of this survival league will be one of the teams with a B+ grade. Meaning, I think that either Tex, Bruno or NoFBInLA will be the last team standing. :banned:
Interesting approach Doc.....I like it.....not the grades so much, just the approach!!BTW, C+ is a fair and accurate assessment of my team.
Considering your in the bottum 5 teams I think he's putting it politely

My condolensces and sympathies, Rody. Hang in there.BTW -- have been buried at work -- we let go of an incompetent art director which is good, but lost a dude he was tight with as a result. So while I am enjoying reading these, have not had time to assess anyone's team. Sorry -- keep em coming though.

Talking smack that I have a ####ty team and yet he constantly avoids this topic yet has plenty of time for SSL4 and plenty of time to be reading threads on FBG.

:lmao: :bs: :banned: For RR

RR = all bark and no bite

All I want out of him is a simple yes or no
Well then......that's a big 'ole NO to your sig bet challenge.Don't really care what you think at this point. Call me whatever you want.
Its alright sometimes we all have bad drafts, you did the right thing backing down, just try and read over some of my critiques and maybe you'll learn some of the concepts you look for when your drafting a team and you'll do better in the SSLs. :missing:

Ok.......good luck in SSL3!BTW, these are mocks, and I'm not looking for bragging rights......I'll take them, if I earn them, but I'm not looking for them.

Keep on digging that hole Norris........you're an LHUCKS wannabe. (And not even close, IMO.)

4.16 Michael Vick, ATL, QB6, Bye-8

9.01 Byron Leftwich, JAX, QB20, Bye-4

I like Leftwich, always have.......Vick, not so much.

Grade - B-

1.01 LaDainian Tomlinson, SD, RB1, Bye-7

3.01 Thomas Jones, NYJ, RB20, Bye-10

8.16 Mike Bell, DEN, RB47, Bye-6

17.01 Najeh Davenport, PIT, RB67, Bye-6

19.01 Sammy Morris, NE, RB70, Bye-10

First two...solid, next 3....eh....

Grade - C+

2.16 Donald Driver, GB, WR10, Bye-7

6.16 Deion Branch, SEA, WR34, Bye-8

7.01 Santonio Holmes, PIT, WR35, Bye-6

11.01 Wes Welker, NE, WR61, Bye-10

15.01 Sidney Rice, MIN, WR83, Bye-5

18.16 Peerless Price, BUF, WR94, Bye-6

Tough to get solid WR's out of the 1-spot, but solid job here....Holmes could impress this year if Roethy improves....

Grade - B-

5.01 L.J. Smith, PHI, TE8, Bye-5

12.16 David Thomas, NEP, TE23, Bye-10

20.16 George Wrightster, JAC, TE37, Bye-4

Ok.....3 TE's, interesting approach, but not unfounded, as TE's get double PPR. Still, restricting another position for extra TE could hurt.

Grade - C+

14.16 Shayne Graham, CIN, K6, Bye-5

16.16 Stephen Gostkowski, NE, K14, Bye-10

Graham is a stud.....Gostkowski, (spelling be damned,) is going to put up solid numbers as a K2.

Grade - A-

10.16 Baltimore Ravens, DST2, Bye-8

13.01 Pittsburgh Steelers, DST6, Bye-6

Grade - A

Final Grade - B- This team has every chance to win.....will it?

Sorry, this is the only one of these I did.... I'm a little agitated. It's the coffee.

It's a shame really, if you were going to go to the trouble of evaluating my team to find weaknesses or to smack it around some, you should have tried a little harder.

Some of your comments here are contradicting to previous comments you've made....... When I drafted Leinart, you stated you liked him a lot, now (since you are mad at me) he's just average.

I think you are a wee bit off with your grades, but I'll accept them for what they are.....Ok, so, two 'D's (QB & RB), and two 'B's (WR & TE)...averages out to a 'C'. To go and lump Akers in with the defenses is just too funny. Akers is definately an 'A'. Having two defenses on the same bye, does not warrant an 'F' for the position. I'll get production out of them weekly (except on week 8), so they should at least warrant a 'C-' or 'D+'!!! My team really ranks out to a 'C' or 'C+' if I accept your QB & RB grades, which I stated I would for this exercise.

Seeing you give my team an 'F' only solidifies my thinking that you are a snide, spiteful little man. But that's Ok, you'll get by.

For a lesson on team evaluating see below:

NorrisB

6.11 Tony Romo, DAL, QB13, Bye-8

8.11 Ben Roethlesberger, PIT, QB18, Bye-6

I believe you would have taken Leinart, had I not, but either way, this is the real group of 'average' QB's. Both of these QB's must deal with new coaching regimes, in addition to their own average talents, which might play a little bit into how they produce this year. Personally, I don't like either of them, but that won't effect my grade for them....C/C+

1.06 Shaun Alexander, SEA, RB6, Bye-8

3.06 Duece McAllister, NO, RB23, Bye-4

11.06 Correll Buckhalter, PHI, RB52, Bye-5

14.11 Brandon Jackson, ®, RB62

SA, as I've stated before, was a nice pick. I would have grabbed him, had he slid to me, and would have been thrilled. Not high on Duece, but good value pick here. Buck in the 11th could prove an excellent value, should Westy go down for any amount of time. Reid likes him a lot and is not afraid to use him when neccessary. Don't know much about Jackson at all, other than that he is from Nebraska. If he lands in a good situation, he could prove to be a decent pick. Grade: B-

2.11 Larry Fitzgerald, ARI, WR7 , Bye-8

4.11 Hines Ward, PIT, WR19, Bye-6

5.06 Joey Galloway, TB, WR24, Bye-10

7.06 Bernard Berrian, CHI, WR37, Bye-9

10.11 Chris Henry, CIN, WR57, Bye-5

13.06 Joe Jurevicius, CLE, WR74, Bye-7

16.11 Mike Williams, DET, WR88, Bye-6

Fitz is a great WR, but Boldin is the real monster in Az. Nice pick though, as he fell to you and you could not pass. Ward is just a steady producer. Galloway could prove to be good value here in the 5th, but they have not handed the reins to Garcia just yet. Simms is still the starter (according to the FBG news blogger) and he is still a greenhorn, so I'm not inclined to give Galloway a bump yet. Berrian is Rex's favorite target downfield, but is basically boom or bust week to week. Sucks about Henry. I like him and was looking to nab him, but was willing to wait. Glad I did. No production for 8 weeks is going to hurt. Jurevicius is lost in the folds of the Browns O. He was targetted 65 times by Frye last year, as compared to Winslow, who had 129 targets. Mike Williams? WTF? You do know he is going to get cut by Detroit this year, don't you. What has this guy done? Ever? OC Martz is looking past him at this point and you should not expect much, if anything at all, from Williams this year. Grade: C. Could have been a B, but Henry and company bring it down.

9.06 Dallas Clark, IND, TE15 , Bye-6

12.11 Marcedes Lewis, JAC, TE22, Bye-4

Landing Clark as TE15 is pretty good. Lewis is a nice TE2, as Leftwich likes to dump off to his TE's when the running game is lacking and his WR's are covered tight. Could prove grood value out of the 12th round. Grade: B-

15.06 Green Bay Packers, DST13, Bye-7

17.06 New York Giants, DST24, Bye-9

Both of these defenses are average, at best. Grade: C

What, no kickers yet? Oh well, they are a dime a dozen anyway, so you can't do all that bad with what is left for the pickin'. Considering you have waited on them though, I can only guess that you'll get average to below average value. Grade: C-

Your team is average. Not bottom of the pile, nor sitting at the top. Overall grade: C

Your draft so far has been a far cry from schooling us all. You did state at the beginning of this thing that that is what you would do. But you did not.

I will re-evaluate after this is over, because who knows, you might do something in the last couple rounds which would neccessitate adjustments to your grades.

Good luck, Rody

Ill take finishing in the middle of the pack this weak. I thought my team had a horrible weak. I guess as long as I don't finish last is all that matters.

Come get your crow Ruffrody
I suggest serving it up in large helpings because this is your last survivor league that you'll be participating in after quitting the MBSL in mid draft.
Man I am so sorry about that, I was going through a real hard time in my life and I didnt have the time to manage my draft properly instead of holding you guys up, I tried to do the responsible thing and have someone else take my place, sorry Bass

I know the feeling. Ticking time bomb masquerading as Team NoFBinLA is waiting to go off.Edge pick has been key though....

Rody's Post 3rd Round Assessment:

Teams out in front thus far are:

1. Pimpin Ain't Easy

2. tex

3. Ruffrodys05

4. Domination

5. Prof. Chaos

6. DocNiner52

Three (complete) rounds is not much to go on, as most of us should have (at a minimum) 2 quality studs on their team. These are the teams that stuck out to me. It's not too hard to put together a decent starting unit in the first three rounds. The next 5 rounds will be much more revealing as we see who can add the right mix of players to their team to maximize value and stay competitive over the long haul.

Obviously, this is a premature list of quality teams. Those not listed could easily attain top tier status (in my eyes) with a few great picks between now and the conclusion of round 8.

HAPPY DRAFTING!!!!!!!
Opps! That team barely escaped death in weeks 1 and 2 and was finally eliminated in only week 3, eat your crow Rody, you praised your god for saken team and bashed mine (one of the leaders) I seriously cant bellieve how you could think Russell was a good pick :goodposting:

I can't believe this sorry team is still playing. I look at it, and other than Kitna and Gates, nothing stands out, and half the players are not a factor at all. It's just a matter of time.
