was thinking last night about this in bed. I have looked at the seeding W-L % with the college brackets. Anyone have any figures on how a 5 seed fares vs. a 3 seed or wild card vs. whoever???? might be interesting to look at.

Doesn't answer your question on a per match-up basis but it looks like the #2 Seed has won the most Super Bowls this decade.

In taking a closer look at the seed slots, the No. 2 seed has produced the most Super Bowl champions. When grouped together, the top two seeds -- who would own first-round byes -- have a 66.6 percent change of making it to the Super Bowl and a 27.8 percent chance of taking home the Lombardi Trophy.
