Percy Harvin (ankle) out for Vikings-Lions game

By Gregg Rosenthal

Around The League editor

Few wide receivers are more valuable to their offense than Minnesota Vikings wideout Percy Harvin. The Vikings will have to win without him on Sunday.

Ian Rapoport of NFL.com and NFL Network reports that Harvin is out for their Week 10 clash against the Detroit Lions after spraining his left ankle during last week's loss to the Seattle Seahawks.

Harvin could still be seen limping badly, according to Rapoport.

The Lions have been playing solid defense of late and didn't allow the Vikings to score an offensive touchdown when the two teams met earlier in the season. The Vikings still won, in large part because Harvin had a kickoff return for a touchdown.

Yeah, he can do that too. With quarterback Christian Ponder struggling -- to put it mildly -- Minnesota will have to rely heavily on Adrian Peterson this week.

Wonder if Rudolph suddenly has value again this week.
Let's put it this way ... Rudolph is incapable of " creating" his own shot (to borrow from NBA) .... think he is much better off with Harvin in to open things up (and even with Harvin, he's been invisible past 3 weeks) ..,,Factor in defense tightening up for AP ... brings them right on up top of Rudolph. No thanks. No way.

I don't know... I watched a few of the viking games and it appeared that rudolph was open but they have been forcing the ball down the field to Simpson. I think Rudolph has the best ability to catch the ball outside of Harvin... dude has made some tremendous plays.. just surprised he hasn't been in the game the last few weeks.... Don't know if it's separation or if they are doubling him underneath, but the few games I watched, he seemed to be open for the short passing plays, but Ponder went for the deep throw... ...
