PGA Tour Thread: 2019 Season Ends (1 Viewer)

He faced the mic after his abysmal round and said he's looking forward to tomorrow...looks like he'll have plenty of time for the pub on Sat/Sun.

Yea...after that short miss on 3, almost felt over before it started.  Some golf left but he needs a make desperately.
You nailed it.

God cheering for this guy is painful sometimes.

Would be nice to see one of the Rory/Spieth/Thomas/Koepka/Dustin J types light it up and become a dominant #1 for longer than six months.
Koepka's won 5 times since last year's US Open.  He's finished in the top 10 another 8 times since then, including four 2nds(two at majors).   He's only missed 2 cuts in that time.  I'd say this is probably the best yearlong run we've seen since Rory in 2012 and it's probably better than that.  Maybe the best since Tiger's 2007-2008 run.

Usually these guys get paid.  Get giant endorsement deals and just dial it back.  Can't really blame them tbh.

Total beast. He gets the lead by a few strokes even early on the back 9 and it’s over. Everyone knows it. Anticlimactic. Machine

With the season ending for some yesterday...big names losing tour cards is a great reminder of the grind...for me two surprises were Beau Hossler and especially Ollie S. Two young guys with early fame who everyone assumed would be great pros.

Is there a full list of guys who will lose their cards?

Two former Number 1s (Donald + Kaymer) plus Hunter Mahan. Guess Luke has 3 more medical starts but otherwise, no status, no starts - sponsors exemptions and a few other obscure methods (lifetime earnings.)

Still, these guys have it relatively easy. Up until 1980 or so only the top 60 retained their card for the next season. The “All Exempt” tour (Top 125) changed everything.

Wasn’t able to listen on what / why An got a drop on 18. He was way left and then dropped further to the right to allow for a big draw onto the green.

🤔

Line of sight relief from a temporary unmovable obstruction. I think that's what Kostis said. Looked like there a hospitality tent in his way.

The only one that really surprises me is Hossler.  He had a solid 2018 and he should still be getting better.

Luke Donald and Hunter Mahan are nothing more than an afterthought these days. Im actually shocked Mahan has had his card this long, he's been terrible for a while now.

Shneider however you spell his name but may be a touch surprising as well and he will probably be back at some point.

After stumbling upon JT Poston’s personal life, I’m suddenly a huge fan of him earning a bigger spotlight.

Seeing some of the Bryson slow play videos on twitter and guys on tour killing him. Didn’t know he was the new Ben Crane.

Brooks is 5-under thru six holes. Almost like something got him fired up.

Was standing on the putting green with Koepka's caddie earlier when an irritated Bryson DeChambeau walked up & told him to tell his boss to make any comment about slow play "to my face". Brooks arrived soon after, got the message & ambled over for a chat with the scientist.

It's weird seeing so many pros openly talk about another pro poorly.  Don't get me wrong, I think it's warranted.  But it's weird to see it.  And it's even weirder to see Bryson just ignore it.

Hes not the first and hes not the last.   What is weird is, for example, Koepka never mentioned him by name and Bryson got all butthurt about Koepka

Question for fellow golfers:

Every year, my foursome takes a small golf trip somewhere.  It'll usually be a long weekend and we'll either play 3 rounds in 2 days or 5 rounds in 3 days.  We play best ball teams.  So if we're playing 54 holes, you'd have to win 28 holes to win the tournament.  Holes carry over and this is where things can get confusing.  If we finish the 54th hole and we tied it, and that hole is worth 7 holes, what should we use to determine who wins those holes?  Most birdies has been the go to for now, but we feel like that might not be the best way to do it.  Any thoughts?

Chip-off or emergency holes. Though if playing 36 in a day, more golf is the last thing I'm interested in. Or no blood.
