Mrs R., or the Hawk Tuah girl?

Well-played, sir. Mrs. R. has plenty to tell us about etiquette and general decency, both of which are insufficient but necessary for a decent order and decent society.

Hock Tuah is fine, but one really has to wonder about the social veneration of the whole thing. Are we now flinging poo at each other so often that we’ve forgotten the conjugal and what it entails?

(I’m kidding with that last bit.)

That wasn't poo.

"Taking it to the next level" Every product seems to be able to take something to the next level.
Hate it. Sick of it.
May have posted it here before, but I forget if I did, and not gonna look through the pages and see, so there it is again.

Where do we stand on the term "banger" (used to a describe a song that really rocks, I guess?)?

I'm on the fence. Usage is definitely on the uptick in the past few months, I've seen.
Never used it, never heard it used.
But then again, I am an old dude

It's used a lot in our music drafts. Don't care for it. It seems kind of lazy to me.

It’s at least 8 years old. I believe it originated in England I’m fine with it.

Shows ya how hip THIS dude is.

And I lean towards the "cool term" side of the fence FWIW.

Guilty as charged...originally I used it to describe songs and now I've expanded the term to several other uses. Such as, "that new Rivian Bronco is a banger".

All the kids out here in San Diego use the term "mid".

"you're so mid"

"the Lakers are so mid"

"Kanye is mid"

meaning average or unimpressive

I don't really like the term "Boomer"
not sure why. maybe I should embrace it and say thank you when I here it.
it took a lot to get here and I earned every bit of it.

My son is 20, he's in college now but I'm reasonably certain he's used this high school. I have to be honest here, I quite like the term because there's a hell of a lot of "mid" in this world. . . plus I use it myself from time to time.

"Tuddy" = touchdown?

Stop.

Ribbie = RBI in baseball.

Ohtani had two homers and 5 ribbies on the day...
Yeah, I thought of that when I first heard it... but... ugh.

When did you guys first hear this? It's been a thing forever.
Ribbie I've heard for a long, long time. Tuddy? This season. And trust me I'm hugely involved in football / fantasy football... just never heard it until this season.

been hearing it called "tuddy' on and off since elementary school, feels like. and that was 35+ years ago.

Huh, weird. I've had double digit fantasy teams for close to a decade, written/write for multiple fantasy sites and have been on here since 2012 and Huddle for at least 15 years before then and really just starting to hear it this season. I HAVE been listening to more SiriusXM fantasy sports radio these days; I wonder if they just say it there more and I'm just noticing now... hahaha

I'm referring to ribbie. Tuddy is dumb.

First time I've heard Tuddy. Ribbie I've heard since I was a kid.

Nothing wrong with this. It has been around forever and is just fine.
I'm fine with Ribbie, like you said it's been around since I was a kid. But just because tuddy is new, it's a hated term? I don't see much difference between the two.

And tuddy is better than it being called a tiddie...

Tuddy just seems dumb. Has nothing to do with it being new necessarily. It just seems wrong to me. But then I rarely ever use the term as just "TD" either so that may be why.

So I learned 3 things today. There's a site that claims that sources say that the term tuddy has been around since the 1900's and the Washington Commanders mascot is named Major Tuddy.

Websters says the first use of ribbie was in 1956. My only thought is that "ribbie" might have been easier to say than "run batted in"

While we're on the shortening of words, I've seen a rash of facebook posts lately of parents posting their teenagers all dressed up for Hoco (Homecoming)
It's not just the random shortening of words that drives me batty... it's when people combine words that, when they do so, make it a different part of speech.

Namely: work out / workout and hang out / hang out

Hangout and workout = nouns

Hang out and work out = phrasal verbs

I see all sorts of Facebook posts, memes, etc.... with "anyone wanna hangout this weekend?" Cringe.

Dude, you are my people. This drives me bananas.
