Pittsburgh Vs Chicago (1 Viewer)

I think it needs to be said that the much maligned Trai Essex and Max Starks did a whale of a job in pass protection yesterday.  Against a line as vaunted for its ability to pressure the QB as Chicago's is, Brown and Ogunleye were completely neutralized by Essex and Starks.  I think at one point late in the game, they showed a graphic that said Roethlisberger not only hadn't been sacked, but was only hit once and rushed once or twice.  That's absolutely HUGE, and those two tackles deserve a TON of credit for that.  With time to throw, Ben was picking the secondary apart, which softened the defense up, allowing the Steelers to rush for about 200 yards.

Kudos also to Ken Whisenhunt, who I thought did a phenomenal job in playcalling yesterday.
Starks is a freakin monster. He was just swallowing his man whole, all day
:goodposting: Yesterday, he played like I always hoped he could play. Gives me hope for the future at that position.

I thought about that during the game yesterday but forgot to post about it. EG already touched on it -- but Starks and Essex kicked ### out there yesterday...I was really worried about them and they came through big time.

Was at this game....basically right on the field. 3 rows behind Steelers bench, 45 yd line.

Not too impressed with Pitt.  Bears D played very sloppy, missing tons of easy tackles, going for big hits instead of wrapping up.  Very disappointing effort out of the D.  No pressure on Ben, but thats a credit to the Pitt o-line.

Steeler fans had a great time, really whoopin it up all day.  Just disappointed that they didnt get to see the best the Bears have got
I was also at the game. Two plays I enjoyed: Parker's head-fake on Urlacher left him on the ground. FWP went outside and picked up 10 yards. Also, Bettis' final TD in which he barrelled over two Bears (one Urlacher) put the nail in the coffin. Put it this way 190 yards rushing is not an accident, the Steelers just flat out beat up the Bears yesterday.
