Lol. Way to be on the same page.  His agent and the Steelers agree to a deal, then Bell rips it up.  Maybe be more involved or at least make sure your agent knows where you stand, then they could have negotiated with full knowledge of the situation and reached an agreement.

I think Bell has every right to try and get paid as much as he can, but at this point I'm kind of annoyed with him and want the Steelers to franchise him/spend as little as possible on his contract.  Which was the point behind the team releasing all the info they have...
PFT has historically had some  totally wrong news reports about the Steelers.

:tumbleweed:

I do not think this means what you think it means.
Oooops.... lol, sorry they do percentiles for a lot of their athletic profile numbers, breakout age, etc. (and yes, I understand the higher the percentile the better the player would be in this case. Need to stop posting at 2am).

So to correct myself he was ranked first in yards per target for 2016.

So sue me, my wife told me the game was on Saturday.

Any news on how Bryant looks on the field? Do we think he plays on SUNDAY?

Everything I've read has mentioned that he looks good and will play Sunday. Has all the speed he had but looks bigger. Also pretty strong reports on Coates, catching tough balls and running well. Biggest issue for both is rounding into shape.

Hunter has struggled a bit of late, the more I read, the more obvious it seems that he will ultimately be cut.

They held them to 13 pts. Are you disappointed in Conner's performance too?
Conner outside the drops on the short passes (fixable as he totally was looking to run before the ball even got to him), looked great for his first NFL action.  There was no threat of a pass and he was able to average approx. 5 yards a carry.  No huge run to inflate that either.  Looked much quicker than I remember from college, could be due to his weight loss.  Hits the hole extremely fast, defending Bell and then Conner will be brutal for defenders to adjust to.

Would love to see him behind the entire first team oline with Ben and AB out there, which should happen next week.

It would be nice to see Conner run through more tackles.  He seems to go down on first contact a lot, which isn't great for a "big back".  Also, Bryant looked good, but that highlight catch showed how poor Dobbs' accuracy is, rather than how great Bryant is.

I saw just the opposite. He looked kind of slow to the hole. The holes were so huge vs the future UPS drivers, that it would have been impossible for Conner not to make yards. I see him getting drafted in the 12th, 13th round in all my drafts and I just say a little TY to all the fans each time.

Conner looked like a 3rd round pick coming off of injury.  He ran well, but lacked some burst and misread a few cutback opportunities.  Add in the fact that he really needs to work on catching the ball before trying to run and I'd give him a B-.

I'd make this one change to your analysis.  A lot of his negatives yesterday can be attributed to nerves, because he certainly didn't look like the James Conner I watched at Pitt.  IMO, he was simply trying to do too much: looking upfield before making the catch, hesitating before plunging ahead and trying too hard to juke his way to 40 yards on every carry.  He knows that's not his style and what he needs to do is get the ball and move forward. When the coaches show him the film and remind him of who he is and the pressure of the first time on the field subsides, I think he'll improve greatly.

Falcons 1st team offense (minus Freeman and Julio) marched 91 yards for a TD, converting multiple third and longs.  Second and third team QBs moved the ball effectively for the rest of the first half as well, I think the Steelers were being outgained something like 240-30 at one point in the second quarter.  I think that's what IB was referring to.

The starting defense surrendered 5 of the first 6 third down conversions.
And I don't think any of those were short yardage situations -- they were of the 3rd & 8, 3rd & 10 variety.  Same old story

Now it is preseason and they were missing some key players (Shazier, Mitchell, Burns) but it was not what you like to see.

Can't wait to see martavis in some real action this year. Easy to still root for him imo, being a pothead vs domestic or other stupid violence. I may take some flak here, but he reminds me of randy moss (and not because of the weed). His production may never match obviously but when he's running under those bombs and high pointing balls with that lanky frame that's what I see. Being from michigan it's easy to like the steelers with AB and Bell playing here in college and having had to find a team to root for all those years the lions were unwatchable. Now that I think about it, I wonder if I saw them play against each other, remember seeing brown beat msu single handedly and thinking how great Dan lafevre was?. Morning ramble done.

I was hoping he would report after this week's preseason game cause there is little to no chance they would play him in the 4th preseason game
Agreed. Hopefully they've gotten him a copy of the playbook so he doesn't come in 100% out of the loop.

Also, the trade was just a simple camp move. It may or may not affect our 5th/6th CBs.

Wish we'd traded for Darby instead. Not sure what we'd have given up, but that would have instantly upgraded our CB corps.  Also, I'd be interested in Reggie Ragland.  To me he seems like Vince Williams, but better.  Not sure what he'd cost but he definitely doesn't fit with the Bills' system and we don't have a ton of depth at ILB (I love Matakevich, but idk that I want him playing every down).

Me too.  You would think we could work out a deal with the plethora of receivers we have.  Buffalo is really hurting at WR.

Details on Le'Veon Bell Getting GF, Side Chick Who Was Rams Cheerleader & Fiancee Pregnant at Same Time (Video) http://bit.ly/2vdYJOx
How will this effect him in season, people who have pregnant women in our lives know the issue with one, but 3 different at the same time?

Long hold out and this has me thinking Bell will not be up to his best this year, hope I am wrong.

Geez does knile Davis not understand how to run north & south. Let's see Conner with the 1st team. Is he playing tonight?

1st team offense looked good, defense is really bad tonight. And that's being kind.
Agreed but that sack given up by Villanueva was awful.  You just cannot allow your QB to get hit from the blind side.

So far this preseason the middle of the field has been a goldmine for receivers.  Also some extremely poor tackling was on display on Saturday.  I don't know how they do it but they absolutely need to improve the secondary.  I'm not sure that Coty Sensabaugh is much of an improvement over Cockrell who looks completely lost.  Hilton continues to impress but he isn't a starter.  And I wonder if Golson will suit up for the final preseason game? It is hard to imagine him making the team without taking a snap in the preseason but if he does that shows you how bad this secondary is.

Nice pick by Shazier but I was holding my breath on the return.  He's an excellent LB but is fragile as a china doll

Landry Jones wasn't outstanding by any means but he looked decent.  Then again that could be because we've been watching Dobbs and Houston all preseason

The Le'veon Baby Drama will probably not affect him on the field too much, but it is a shame.

One thing I'm grateful for is that the Steelers have gotten through the preseason relatively unscathed *knock on wood.  We just need to keep that up.  Also, the D hasn't looked too good, glad they get to start against a rookie.

Is there some recent news I am not aware of?

Don't know that I'd call it "news" but it's apparently a reference to this bit of muckraking:

Oh I am not worried about this stuff.   Having 8 kids from 10 different women is like a badge of honor for some NFL football players.

I'm also not worried about this either.   Bell is in the peak of shape and will be ready to go for the opener.

I'm not "worried" about it, but at the same time, it does show a continuing lack of sound judgment on his part.  I know he's young and "boys will be boys" and all that, but for a guy who is looking for a record-shattering contract at his position, playing for a family-owned franchise that seems to have at least somewhat less tolerance for off-field tomfoolery than many others, it's not a great look.

I know very little about this guy except that I had him on my fantasy team for a cup of coffee a few years back and he bricked for me.  Moving down a few spots in the draft doesn't seem like much of a price though (Steelers 4th round pick should theoretically only be 5-10 picks before the SF 5th rounder, not counting compensatory picks.)
