Pizza Bagels, Genius! (3 Viewers)

I was pretty sure it was broken watching it live. That he put any weight on it was a really good sign. The good news is if they can pull it out, not sure how different out for the game and out 4 weeks are at this point.

Antonio Brown dodged one bullet by avoiding fracture. Now he is going to hospital to monitor leg to ensure no development of “compartment syndrome”. If that occurs, pressure in leg prevents arterial blood flow & surgery is required. That would end his season.

Is this good or bad?

What an absolute load to end that game.  Call on the non-td sucked, but the fake spike/chuck in to triple coverage was just as sucktastic.

Another gifted win for the Pats.

This team can beat New England at full strength.  If Joe Haden and AB can get back in time for a game in Foxboro, I'll take my chances.  I like the D plan today, with the exception of Gronk.

Still, I'll take the loss if we get AB back.  One much more important than the other.

Pats are the luckiest team on the planet. I was encouraged with what I saw.  Let’s hope Browns injury isn’t season ending and just win the final 2 games to secure a bye.

Move on to next week and beat a horrible Houston team.  Then beat a horrible Cleveland team and secure that bye.

Im actually not that upset with the loss today.  They were 2 evenly matched teams and someone had to lose.  Love the fact that the Steelers made adjustments on defense and got to Brady a little.   No clue how they will ever stop Gronk.  Just hope Brown comes back.

AB not likely to play the rest of the season, but probably for post-season.

I think that's great news.

Beat Houston.  Beat Cleveland.  Rest for the bye week...dominate.

Make the best of it.

I wasn't encouraged about how we handled the last 2 minutes of the game at all.   defensively they cracked after not getting that Davis INT and Tomlin playcalling at the end of the game was awful.   Now whether it was Ben or Haley or Tomlin decision to do a damn fake spike slant pass I don't know but it was stupid.   More worried that people are blaming the reversal on this loss than the actual play.   They had 28 seconds and only 5 yards left and THAT was their idea to score.

At the very worse think about a field goal.   I mean how are we supposed to be confident when you are basically telling people that the only way they could win was in regulation

We still should make it to the AFC title game but man I hope we don't have to deal with Jacksonville to get there

Of course that was Ben’s call.  I couldn’t believe what I was seeing because I was actually thinking that they may spike it with that much time left.

I thought this was a great game plan.  I love that we finally manned up on D against Brady.  Resulted in a pick and a pretty pedestrian game for Brady, outside of Gronk.  We need to figure out a game plan for him, but still, I thought the game plan and coaching was extraordinary.

The decision by Ben at the end to throw into triple coverage was bad.  Throw the fade and then kick the FG, but that was a rushed decision on a guy trying to win a game.

Tomlin said he was insistent towards Ben and Todd that they keep running in the 4th as much as possible.
They did a great job of working the clock.  The drive to end the 3rd quarter went on for almost 8 minutes.  You're really only looking a single failed 3rd down conversion.

The drive at the end of the first half was huge too.  The Patriots love to double up on possessions at the end of the first, start of the second.  The gameplan didn't allow them the drive at the end of the first.

I just can't escape the head-shaking that comes from thinking about how epic that win would have been. From the thrill of victory to the agony of defeat in less than 60 seconds.

At least we know that we can hang with the Patriots now. I have a much different feeling after this loss than in past years. Maybe a little pride mixed in there as well considering who we were missing.

And Shazier in the box was freaking incredible.
They need to find an answer for Gronk.  Period.  If not, we can probably expect the same outcome if these 2 teams play again.

Unfortunately I don’t believe in this team just waltzing through the next two weeks or New England blowing it. While I believe the Jesse James call to be bull #### they also took their foot off the gas in the 4th and put themselves in the situation they were in. Shame on Tomlin for not learning from others mistakes... at least it seems he kind of learns from his own. Injuries are starting to mount and it’s getting worrisome. If this team rolls over against the Texans I feel like it’s going to be rough in the playoffs if they have to take on Jacksonville or NE or even worse Jacksonville then NE @ NE if that’s possible.

I would be surprised to see NE lose the #1 seed.  That being said, I didn’t give the Steelers much of a chance in this game without Shazier.  They had this game won, though, & while the James call was the right call based on the rule,  they did what needed to be done, almost.  They played man more, got some pressure on Brady, kept the NE offense on the sidelines.  Brady has looked really average the last month or so.  If the Steelers get Haden & Brown back, & the can execute a similar game plan in foxboro, they could win in a rematch in the playoffs.  But they have to figure out how to contain Gronk.

Before the game I thought we were going to lose because of our poor D. Then we lost AB and I thought it was a foregone conclusion, but we almost still won! I may have yelled a string of curses loud enough to lose my voice at the end of that game, but it actually gave me hope for our chances against any team.

We showed that even without AB we could go toe to toe with the best team in the NFL. If we can get AB back healthy for the playoffs, we have a shot to beat anyone and just need a little bit of luck next time (and no Corrente).

That said, I think we lose in Houston this week. Bad team on the road, let down game after Baltimore comeback and close Pats game.  Do we get Gilbert back this week? If so, he could add a boost to our O-line, although Hubbard has been solid.

Agree big time with the bolded and still sore about it, that's what put them in that spot.

A lot of reasons to be sore about this loss but for me the biggest is not home field vs NE, it's the fact that I think had the Steelers won they would not have faced NE again. I think the Jags are the best suited team in the AFC right now to beat the Patriots and I'd go so far as to predict it had they met in divisional round. That's what really gets me about this loss, I really think the path to the SB would have been beating KC and Jags at home. Steelers have always needed someone to take care of NE for them, the Jags are that team but now it's not possible unless NE slips up.

LET'S GO BILLS!!!!!!

LET'S GO BILLS!!!!!!
That would be an interesting twist to this story.  New England is beatable this year.  Buffalo is still fighting for a playoff shot.  And then there is the whole revenge factor from the Gronk cheap shot.  Somewhere down the road (this year), I think New England is going to get eliminated in some gut wrenching way.

I didn't really like what Tomlin said today in his presser about what they were doing during the replay.  He said one official told him they might spot J. James down at the one which would require a 10 second runoff and then they would wind the clock - Tomlin said they spent most of their time discussing that scenario     That was NEVER* going to be called because James wasn't touched until he was in the EZ.  Whatever, they lost to NE and will now have a tougher road to the SB than if they had won the game.

NEVER in NFL terms means like only a 1% chance because you just never know for sure.

per Steelers twitter account:

Steelers sign ex-Patriots RB Stevan Ridley - James Conner placed on IR in corresponding move

Interesting.  I thought for sure they were just going to activate Watson.

Tomlin made it sound like Haden and McDonald had a good shot at playing this week but Ramon Foster is in concussion protocol.    Marcus Gilbert should be back though.

Tomlin said that AB is out for this week with a "significant lower leg contusion".

I thought so too!

In any case, the extra day will help Foster recover and Gilbert re-acclimated. I hope we can get Haden back on the field

Just can’t fake spike there. Just can’t do it. Really surprised Ben went that route
He's done this many times before, although instead of trying to wedge it into triple coverage, he should have called a timing pattern to the corner of the endzone. Worst case scenario, you kick the FG and go to OT.

Agreed.  The problem wasn't the fake spike, it was the personnel on the field and the forced throw to a covered receiver.

What is the point in signing a bum RB as a backup when Watson did relatively well in short yardage this year and knows the offense? Can’t wait for Ridley to fumble against the Patriots and ironically hand them a Super Bowl appearance.

Not sure but the Steelers know their RB situation better than we do.  There is something about Ridley they like better than Watson

Well, 99% of the time he throws it to AB, and AB would know not to run a crossing route. Sadly, Eli Rogers is no AB.

In other news, what do you guys think the odds are that some Bill retaliates against Gronk, or takes it out on Brady. Wouldn't be shocked if someone got hurt, or ejected, or suspended. And if that happens, they could feasibly lose to the Jets. The odds are slim to none, but if they're missing key components in week 17, it could happen.

That said, I think the Bills have a 20% chance of winning, and I'll just hold on to that and hope we can win a game we should win.

If I were the Bills my primary focus would be to win the game and qualify for the playoffs.

However if the game gets out of reach, it wouldn't surprise me to see someone retaliate.  That hit was dirty as hell, to the head, and resulted in a concussion. Gronk should have gotten a hell of a lot more than a 1 game suspension

But then the Pats wouldn't have had as good a shot at beating us.

The Jags torched the Texans last week through the air. Any chance Ben can shake his road woes and actually put up good numbers this week?

I'm skeptical, but hopeful.

Everyone even remotely competent torches the Texans through the air.  Should be fireworks here.

Sad to see 92 go out like this. I guess he's really fallen off a cliff athletically although I didn't see that in the handful of snaps he played this year. I thought he still had a role to play as a situational pass rusher in the playoffs. I guess they're more comfortable with Moats and Chickillo at this point. I wonder if he was really causing problems in the locker room over his lack of run.
