Play of the Week, Santana Moss (1 Viewer)

Not only a good matchup, but he's due for one of those monster games that leaves owners crying because he's on their bench. The Redskins are at home against the Giants. I'll go out on a limb and say Santana Moss goes for 8 receptions / 140 yds / 2 TDs.

Moss had 10 targets Monday night. Only two were deep passes. They connected on one and missed on the other. After missing on that bomb late in the game, part of me believes they'll really want to connect on some Sunday.

in a short roster league, i just traded for javon, but i'll hold off in starting him for santana this week.

just that feeling.

Moss against the Giants since coming to DC:

At NY (2 games) - 7-73-0

At home (2 games) - 11-263-4

I am definitely playing him over Boldin this week.....I don't trust Leinart at BAL.

Definitely a good chance that S Moss has one of his big games against the Giants matador defense.......OLE!

I've been fighting it all week, but I put him in my lineup this morning.

Benching Marion Barber for Santana Moss. If I can't go with my gut, there is no point in playing this game.

I think Jason Cambpell can do well against the Giants pass def as well. Do you think the Giants knowing they have struggled on pass def will try to focus on stopping S Moss (not saything they can, but will they try), and if so does that improve Randle El's chances of having a big/decent fantasy day?

Miami focused on Cooley and Moss, so ARE had a big day.Philly focused on Cooley, so Moss had a good day (ARE produced, too). Not sure who NY will focus on. This could actually be Cooley's week if NY focuses on Moss.If Washington gets the running game going early, watch out because they may all produce

I don't have Moss, but I'm starting Campbell in two leagues in large part due to Moss, over McNabb in both leagues and also over Romo in one. That secondary is very vulnerable against speedy receivers who can get deep, and Moss excels at that.

The real question is, who has already benched S Moss?
 He's my #4Behind Steve Smith (CAR), Terrell Owens, and Randy Moss, none of which will see the bench. Now I have to decide between him and DeShaun Foster in the flex spot, who supposedly goes off whenever he plays ATL (median score of 19.5 over the last 5 starts against them). These are the decisions that give us ulcers.

I'm starting SMoss over Fitz this week. My first time starting him as well (Roy Williams and Fitz were my week 1 and 2 starters).

Yes, but even if you pretend he made that second deep catch, you'd still have to take away his two big plays and he would have had a crappy day.</sharkpool logic>

Santana Moss (Redskins) Total Receiving Yards - Must Play

9/23/07 409 Receiving Yards

OFF OFF Over 74.5 (-115)

at www.mysportsbook.com max = $500 i'm all over it baby

I am sitting Moss for roy williams, calvin johnson and braylon edwards. I could start moss at flex , but I would have to bench ADP, sjax or portis. Sorry santana, but you are still on my bench for now.

Can't believe I'm doing it but I'm sitting Roy Williams for Santana Moss.I hope your right Fanatic :blackdot:
I am starting Roy this week (easy decision for me based on my roster), but if I had to pick between Roy and Santana I would pick Roy. Last time Roy faced Philly he had 9 catches for 135 and 2 TDs, i personally think the lions continue to roll, and McNabb just does not get it done this week. I see a similar preformance, 7-9 catches 100+yds and at least one TD from Roy this week. Calvin Johson has caught a TD in each of the first two games, i would be suprised to see a third one in a row, if Kitna can stay concussion free, he will toss the ball 40-45 times = good for Roy. *I think Santana will have a good game to, I just think Roy has a higher chance of not messing a good thing up.

Does that mean if he gets over 74.5 recieving yards you win?If so, good bet.

Threads like this make me wince...can't help but think some set of gods or even Karma (if you can anthropomorphize Karma) become offended when drawing gloating attention to something promising.

whenever alot of people are betting on one particular game or player, I usually do the opposite. So santana, you are riding the pine this week.

Santana Moss (team decision) was a limited participant in Redskins practice Friday, but was not on the team's Week 3 injury report.

Moss is a borderline WR1 in a matchup with the Giants Sunday afternoon.

- Rotoworld

This certainly doesn't change my mind.

 He gets the nod over Ward and Cotchery for me this week.

I've been suprised by the defensive attention on Cooley, particularly in the Philly game. They were rotating secondary coverage to Cooley, in addition to the linebacker coverage. I've watched both Skins games and both Charger games, and Cooley has been getting more attention and tighter coverage than Gates. In fact, thinking about it, I'm also surprised by the amount of times Gates is left completely uncovered or is in single coverage with a LB in space. I understand Gates has more ability to get open, but if I was a DC I'd be doubling Gates every time and let Rivers try to beat me with SDs less than stellar WR corps. It was CHI and NE, two of the best Ds in the league, but I'm just sayin'.

That missed TD pass to Moss on MNF figures to change some of that. The Dolphins and Eagles game planned against last year's offense IMHO, and assumed that the 'Skins would remain conservative about cutting some passes loose downfield like they were last year. They trust Campbell more so they'll take shots this year, and I think that means that pass coverage necessarily will need to back off of Cooley a little to account for that. The fact that both Moss and Randle El can get open deep only helps that process along.

 Regarding S Moss, it was pretty clear watching the games that Campbell is quite comfortable throwing to S Moss in all coverages and down/distances. I'd be pretty happy if I was a S Moss owner right now, 10 targets week 2 and production should improve once they do start connecting on those deep balls. :excited:

I have Moss, Cooley AND Portis. And I am a Giant's fan. :cry:At least my fantasy team will benefit from my real teams pathetic defense.

Sorry GB, we've all been there. I'm facing Campbell, Moss and Cooley in one of my dynasty leagues. Just root for the 'Skins to help hasten Coughlin's departure from the Giants. You know it's best.

At this point, I don't need three skins starting for my FF team to root for that. :lmao: Actually was talking about this over dinner. Obviously, I would LOVE for a miracle to happen and the Giants somehow make the playoffs, but PLEASE dont let them suck as expected, but do well enough to win 6-8 games. Lets suck the right way and get a top 6-8 pick and not end up at 12-15.The thing is Eli has looked really solid so far, but their defense is TERRIBLE... which brings us back to topic:START YOUR SKINS.

 Have you watched the Skins games this year? In every "big" situation, including all goal line looks that I have seen, Portis has been in there.

Last week, Portis started and other than one or two series where the skins passed far more than ran, got all the important snaps it seemed like. Even when Betts had a series including the one where he had that nice catch and run) Portis was put in when they got to the goaline.

On NFC Playbook tonight, Baldinger and Sharpe were saying that the Giants have been using Kiwanuka to cover TEs in the first two weeks. Bubba Franks had 4/20/1 last week and Witten had 6/116/1 in week 1. They were suggesting that if that continues, Cooley could be in for a big week.

On the recommendations of this thread I decided last minute to pull Lendale White and plug Santana in as the flex.... It could have been worse I could have pulled Curry from my lineup instead...

... note to self 'JohnnyU FF guru ain't'

I'll go out on a limb and predict Moss will lay a goose egg next week

Hey man, he had 80 yds didn't he, lol. No one can predict TDs from WRs, didn't you know that? These predictions are made for fun and it isn't my job to run your fantasy team. As far as your statement "JohnnyU FF guru ain't", do you want to compare $$$ titles?

I did a pretty good job predicting TDs for WRs :goodposting:Just kidding.. I had to get my dig in after the LOL at my projection... I'm sure you have plenty more $$$ titles than me.I still don't see Moss scoring many TDs this year though... 4 tops... and that's why it's hard for me to put him in my lineup. Curry doesn't have Moss's talent but he does get looks in the red zone.
