Play-off Roster Restriction Thoughts (1 Viewer)

I am hoping to get some thoughts on how to handle a situation in my one fantasy league. Our league rules state that all rosters are frozen at the end of the regular season. Once the play-off teams are set, only play-off teams can pick up free agents. However, teams are only allowed to drop injured players (listed as questionable or worse) and they can only pick up a player at the same position. Also, defenses can not be dropped. One of the teams in the league has Fred Davis as his only tight end. Given that Davis has been suspended, he is not injured and thus per league rules should not be allowed to be replaced. I feel that if I allow him to replace Davis, then every play-off team either has to agree or be allowed one free move. I know that some teams have added players for depth so they would be covered unlike this team. Therefore, it wouldn't be fair to them to allow someone who isn't as prepared to make this change. The other thing is I feel like I'm being a jerk by not letting him swap out, but then I feel that is his problem and not mine to for not being prepared.

Your thoughts on this topic are appreciated.

Thanks!!!

the news broke about a possible suspension before the games started on sunday.

he should have made plans before FA waivers ended at game time.

that said, maybe this situation needs to be addressed in your league bylaws starting next year.

I don't follow your use of "he should have added a player for depth" when you already allow teams to drop/pick up a player at the same position when an injury comes up. Shouldn't those teams have already had enough depth to guard against injury? Why have the rule in place if this was your stance?

Go with the intent of the rule here...a guy was ruled OUT prior to the game starting, give him his pickup at the same position.
