Players you are targeting in every draft (1 Viewer)

I keep ending up with RG3. Not targeting him, and frankly, don't even like him that much. But he's taken a literal and figurative beating this preseason. It feels like it's gone a bit too far.
In the same boat. Have him in two leagues and really wishing I didn't. But he should play way better than he did in the preseason. With all that talent on offense he can't be that bad.
Think RG3 will stil be fine this year. I wasn't targeting him in one league, but QBs went quick and he was the 13th taken. I couldn't pass up that kind of value on him. He has the potential to be a top 5 QB. We've all seen him do it before. The offensive fire power is there for him to succeed. I wouldn't guarantee him a top 5 finish, but top 10 is certainly doable.
Yeah, and it's not like it's difficult to find good options to pair him with to offset some of the risks.

That's my problem right now. The team I have him on, my backup is Tannehill. Not thrilled about it. Wanted to pair him and Wilson, Big Ben or Dalton, but they ended up going before I could make my next pick.

Based on my actions, Julio + Gronk + Harvin + T Williams + Wilson + Hyde + Sproles + Latimer + Freeman + L Green + Kelce + M Lee. Variables seem to be rb, wr2/3, and my other qb. Vereen or Gore seem to be a common theme though.

Hope to get Graham in my last one, willing to reach, just haven't been in the right spot to get him.
Man, am I glad you're not in any of my leagues. Apart from T-Will and Freeman, I own every name on your list in multiple leagues. And, true to a prediction I made in another thread last month, Gronk and Harvin have been my back-to-back 3rd and 4th rounders in every one of my four drafts (including FBG's MBSL survivor league).

I haven't seen Cam Newton's name mentioned - while I haven't been targeting him, he's fallen to me in every 4-pt pass TD / 6-pt rush TD league, usually at QB11 or QB12. There's virtually no chance he doesn't outperform that ADP if he plays a full 16 games.
Gronk and Harvin always seem to fall too far.

This is more geared toward keeper/dynasty:

QB: Geno Smith/Jake Locker/Andy Dalton. I know, one of these is not like the other. Dalton has continued to fall in leagues I am involved in, to the point where he is my target as a backup. Locker was doing some nice things last year before he got hurt, and I think he has a pretty nice little group surrounding him. Geno has looked like an NFL passer to me from the jump, I think he could possibly make a big jump this year.

RB: Doug Martin/Danny Woodhead/Latavius Murray/Carlos Hyde. I think Martin is a top 5-7 back unless he gets a boo-boo. Woodhead is a little white Vereen. Hyde and Murray have pretty clear paths to a 2015 solo lead job.

WR: Kelvin Benjamin/Roddy White/Golden Tate/Andrew Hawkins/Allen Robinson/Eric Decker. Roddy, Golden, and Hawkins seem to be drafted lower than where I see their production being. Roddy being unflashy and banged up last year could really work to your advantage this year. Benjamin/Robinson/Decker all look they have a shot to be the #1 WR for a good young QB. Robinson was banged up in the preseason, dropping his value though the floor. Targeting as my last WR.

Oh and:

Greg Olsen--For pete's sake, he's gonna get a ton of targets. Falling and falling in drafts.

The Four Players on Both my Teams - (one auction, one snake draft, both start 3 WR w/0.5 ppr and 1pt per 20 return yards)

1. Cordarrelle Patterson - I love Mr. Flashy. I'll admit it. Especially in return yardage leagues, where he was a WR1 during the 2nd half of last season. I foresee that trend continuing this year in such leagues.

2. Brandin Cooks - Regrettably, I was unable to secure Brees in either league, because Cooks is going to make Brees the #1 QB this year and Brees is going to make Cooks a legit WR2. (BTW in both leagues Brees was drafted/purchased above Peyton, so apparently the secret's out in my circle at least).

3. Maurice Jones-Drew - I smell huge value here. Offseason reports have been stellar. He flashed in preseason against 1s. Matt Schlub has been benched. OL is improving. DMC will compliment, but not supplant IMO. I predict MJD will be an RB2 backbone for many an upside-down drafted team this year.

4. Kyle Rudolph - This is where my rubber will meet the road. Took Rudolph over Witten in one league (wouldn't have done that sober, admittedly). I've been smoking up too much Norv to the Vikings. Patterson I like either way, but Rudolph is almost purely a Norvall call. Dude loves his TEs and Rudolph does have talent.

All of these calls are of course, with the health-permitting caveat.

Cooks for me...7.8 my wr3, 8.6 my wr4, 9.4 wr4, 9.2 wr4, and $14 in $300 auction (really my wr3). I don't think I was that guy that really overpaid at all.

I've been targeting (and getting) Gronk in the third and Harvin in the fourth in several drafts as well.

I got cooks in all 5 of my drafts/auctions this year
I thought people overpayed for him in all of mine. Were you that guy?
We really don't know how Cooks will produce. Some people see him as a rookie WR on a team with a bunch of receiving options. Other people see him as the most dynamic rookie on one of th ebest offenses in the NFL with plays designed specifically for him.

The way Cooks could be productive is to take 70% of the plays intended for Darren Sproles the past 2 years, establishing himself as the #2 WR in NO taking most of the production of Lance Moore, Meachem, and Kenny Stills last year, and/or the inevitable Coleston or Graham injury.

For me this year I saw tons of potential at a fairly reasonable price. If he explodes this year, I wanted to be the guy that had him. If he isn't producing starter type numbers early I have other plug in type of guys, it seemed in the early rounds I really liked players that would fall on the opposite end of the snake...Also as far as Cooks goes, I can see him getting plenty of snaps especially mid - season on and could be wonderful down the stretch and playoff time, I think almost every wr on the team has some kind of issue except for him so it could all come together.Edit, great post above, Voice of reason

All of my drafts I've had earlier picks (#2,3,4) this year, so I've gone stud RB then targeted these guys with success:

TE:

Gronk smash

Heath Miller

Late RB:

Mark Ingram

Knile Davis

Value WR:

Roddy White

Andre Johnson
Grabbed Andre and Roddy.. great value.. Decker is another great value guy.. I grabbed him as a WR3.. he will be a target hog, don't really care too much who is throwing to him. His current ADP has great value
